The Obamas are members of the Luo, Kenya's
third-largest ethnic group, which is part of a larger family of ethnic
groups, collectively also known as Luo. This group belongs to the
Eastern Sudanic branch of the Nilo-Saharan phylum. The Obama
family is largely concentrated in the western province of Nyanza.
The Obamas Of Kenya
Obama traveled to Kenya to
meet the family, for
the first time, in 1986.
Obama's 40-year-old cousin Said Hussein Obama
commented, "My cousin found it
difficult when he came here to learn of his six half-brothers and
sisters were born to four different mothers.
Obama's left hand is on the shoulder of Kezia, Obama Sr.'s first wife,
who said, "The first time I met Barack Jr. was when he came to Kenya
in 1985. He was so much like his father, his looks, his voice,
everything. It was like seeing my husband all over again."
In addition to Obama's half-sister, Auma (Obama's right hand),
Kezia has three sons by Barack Sr. Her two youngest,
Bernard and Abo, live in Nairobi. They are all Muslims.
There’s been a gag order on the Obama's of Kenya.
Kezia can’t remember who she married when, and who are her
kids’ daddies. Sarah can’t remember where she was
during her grandchildren’s births and mixes up her male
offspring. Obama Sr. can’t remember where and when he
travelled, nor could he keep up with his conquests at every
port. Obama can’t open his mouth without lying.
I dunno, but Obama has many of Sr.’s family traits.
BUT when it came to the matter of the inheritance of the
small estate of Barak Hussein Obama Onyango, the line of
descent was CLEARLY understood.
IT WAS MARK, the son
of Barak and Ruth who inherited. NOT the children of
Kezia. Now, why might that be?
Mama Sarah
Obama's grandmother -- who isn't his grandmother -- and
who is described in
this fawning report as "the
famous woman from Nyang’oma Kogelo Village of Siaya District" --
made an appearance at the U. S. Independence Day celebrations, held at
the U. S. ambassadors residence in Nairobi, Kenya.
Sarah Obama was the second wife of the candidate's late grandfather, so
she is not his biological grandmother. But Auma Obama, Obama's
half-sister, said: "By our definition, in our culture, she is his
grandmother." -- it's that "it takes a village" thing -- necessitated by
the fact that these Kenyan Muslim men have many, many wives.
"It’s quite a surprise. I couldn’t in my wildest imagination think
that Obama’s grandmother (she's not his
grandmother) would be here. I did not expect it at all.
I have to at least say hi to her," one person was overheard saying.
And as she mingled freely with many dignitaries, who included Prime
Minister Raila Odinga and Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka, Mama Obama,
who was with her grand-daughter, Dr Auma Obama, engaged her new found
friends in hearty conversations.
Phony grandma --"celebrity"
She clearly stole the show. Many could not resist either posing
for a photo with her, or taking her pictures, with the hope that in the
next few months, they would brag to others that they once were with the
US President’s grandmother! (she's really not his
grandmother!)
This was the first time Mama Sarah, who embraced the Obama family
tradition,
first saying she was a Muslim and
then saying she was a Christian, attended an official function
and going by the look of things, she is definitely going places (yeah,
to the White House).
Sarah and other members of the family, performed Hajj in 2010 as
guests of the King. Prince Mamdouh Bin Abdul Aziz held a banquet for the
family at his palace in Jeddah recently.
So much for that Christian stuff. Just some of that Muslim
al-taqqiya.
Mama Sarah Gets Solar
You will notice that it is Greenpeace that
is installing the solar panels on "Mama Sarah's" home.
Her "powerful" grandson has never lifted a
finger or written a check to help his step-grandmother.
If it was up to her disgraceful grandson,
Barack Obama, she would still be living in the dark.
But this isn't not the first time Obama has
displayed his parsimonious nature to what Michelle Obama says is his
"home country" at the 42-second mark in
this video.
In August 2006, Barack Obama went to his father's village and
pledged to assist a school named in his
honor.
At that historic homecoming in August 2006 Obama was greeted as a
hero with thousands lining the dirt streets of Kogelo. He visited the
Senator Obama Secondary School built on land donated by his paternal
grandfather. After addressing the pupils, a third of whom are orphans,
and dancing with them as they sang songs in his honor, he was shown a
school with four dilapidated classrooms that lacked even basic resources
such as water, sanitation and electricity.
He told the assembled press, local politicians (who included his
cousin and current Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga), and students:
"Hopefully I can provide some assistance in the future to this school
and all that it can be." He then turned to the school's principal,
Yuanita Obiero, and assured her and her teachers: "I know you are
working very hard and struggling to bring up this school, but I have
said I will assist the school and I will do so."
Obiero says that although Obama did not explicitly use the word
"financial" to qualify the nature of the assistance he was offering,
"there was no doubt among us [teachers] that is what he meant. We
interpreted his words as meaning he would help fund the school, either
personally or by raising sponsors or both, in order to give our school
desperately-needed modern facilities and a facelift." She added that 10
of the school's 144 pupils are Obama's relatives. Obiero was not the
only one to think that the US Senator from Illinois, who had recently
acquired a $1.65 million house in Chicago, would cough up. Obama's own
grandmother Sarah confidently told reporters before his visit: "When he
comes down here, he will change the face of the school and, believe me,
our poverty in Kogelo will be a thing of the past."
But the Evening Standard has heard that the promises he made to help
the school as well as a local orphanage appear to have been empty.
They never got a dime from Obama -- who has
no problem taking your money and giving it to America's unions,
anti-American organizations and the professionally unemployed -- in the
name of "fairness."
We're Movin' On
Up
Mama Sarah Obama has
started
her journey to the US to witness the swearing-in of her grandson Barack
Obama as the 44th American President.
And she is not travelling
empty-handed. As a grandmother, she is carrying special gifts for
her grandson -- a Luo traditional three-legged stool, a flywhisk and a
shield, which are symbols of leadership. "I wanted to give him a
spear too, but I have been told that due to security reasons, I will not
be allowed to board a plane with it," Mama Sarah told The Standard.
"I know Barack will be very happy to see me. My presence will
mean a lot to him," she added.
Especially if she continues to publicly assert she was in the
delivery room when Obama was born in Kenya.
An Orphan That Passed Through My Hands
On Monday, May 5, 2010, Mama Sarah Obama
received an honorary doctorate from the Great Lakes University of Kisumu.
Officially they say she received the Ph.D. because of the help she gave
to orphans and widows in her village of Kogelo, Kenya. During her
acceptance, Sarah Obama appealed to the public, saying she believes
they, too, should help vulnerable people in their society.
Included in her words of thanks, Sarah Obama
made the following statement:
"This is a show of blessing from God, since
I have always dedicated my time to tend to the orphans. Even the US
president passed through my hands."
The statement could be interpreted in more than one
way. For example, is she telling us Barack Obama was actually an
orphan whom she tended, or does she mean he passed through her hands at
the moment of his birth, or could she be referring to something else?
What do you think she meant?
I'm tellin' you -- nobody
knows anything about this guy -- every day it's a new mystery. I've
said it before, the more I learn about this guy, the less I know about
him.
More Movin' On Up
A new wave of excitement has gripped Kogelo village in Siaya
District as relatives of the US President-elect Barack Obama prepare to
fly to America for his historic inauguration as America’s 44th
President.
Kogelo is alive once more, two months after the
exhilaration that greeted his election as America’s first black
president and the just concluded Christmas and New Year festivities.
The President-elect’s grandmother, Sarah Obama, is set to lead the
delegation to US and was in Nairobi just before Christmas. Sources
say the US embassy has already given her a travel visa.
Initial
reports that Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Obama's cousin, would lead the
Kenyan delegation were refuted by an official in the PM’s office.
He said Raila would travel to the US in February.
The Standard
On Saturday learnt that the team comprising the president–elect’s
relatives in Kenya will travel 10 days before the historic ceremony on
20th this month. Reports that Obama had personally paid for the
airfare could not be confirmed.
The president-elect’s
half-brother, Malik, said yesterday he would be part of the team that
will jet to the US. "Of course I will be there but I will give you
more details later," he said from Siaya town. Malik said the Obama
family in Kenya is eager to see him being installed as the most powerful
man in the world.
Besides the Obama family, several other
prominent personalities, including musicians and politicians, from
Nyanza Province were preparing to travel to Washington DC for the big
occasion.
Most of those travelling are believed to have received
invitation as well as sponsorship from friends living in the US or
institutions in that country.
Uncle Sayid
Obama's uncle, Sayid/Saeed/Said, son of Mama
Sarah and half-brother to Senior, is the
chairman of a petroleum company in Kenya.
The press only tells you about Republicans, like
the Bushes and Cheney, having anything to do with the oil business.
But no, poor little Barack’s uncle chairs a petroleum company.
Odd, while Obama is busy killing our domestic oil industry, people like
Obama's uncle are making deals and making money.
Cousin
Odinga
Raila Odinga, who is Obama's first cousin, has, in his
own words, a "close personal friendship" with Obama. When
Obama went to Kenya in August of 2006, he was hosted by Raila and spoke
in praise of him at several rallies in Nairobi. Obama’s bias for
his fellow Luo was so blatant that a Kenya government spokesman
denounced
Obama during his visit as Raila’s "stooge."
At the University of Nairobi, Obama offered more pointed
criticism, something he's done almost every day since arriving last
week. After remaining largely silent, the government of President Mwai Kibaki is beginning to respond, suggesting that Obama may have
fallen under the spell of opposition leader Raila Odinga,
Obama's cousin. Odinga is the son of Senior’s sister, a direct
first cousin and nephew of Obama's father.
A potential presidential candidate himself, Odinga's been at Obama's
elbow here fairly often.
"Sen. Obama has to look at critically about where he's receiving his
advice from," said government spokesman Dr. Alfred Mutua. "Just because
somebody, somewhere wants to run for president and is using Sen. Obama
as his stooge, as his puppet to be able to get to where he wants to get
to."
Obama and Odinga
share the
same Luo heritage and history and has made it possible for them to share
the same spotlight at this defining moment in Kenyan and American
histories about hope and fear.
On December 27th, 2007, when Raila Odinga lost the presidential election to Mwai Kibaki, he
claimed the vote was rigged, whereupon his tribal followers went on
murderous rampages, such as in the town of Eldoret, where on New Years
Day dozens of Christians were burned to death in a church set on fire.
Throughout Kenya, hundreds of people have been politically murdered in
the last few days.
The Evangelical Alliance of Kenya
has posted
on its website a photograph copy of a Memorandum of Understanding, dated
and signed on August 29, 2007, between Raila Odinga and Shiekh Abdullah
Abdi, chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum of Kenya.
Here is a summary on the agreement which was signed:
* It pledges the support of Kenyan Moslems for Raila’s election.
In return, as President of Kenya, Raila agrees to 14 actions, listed a)
through n) on page two.
* Within 6 months re-write the Constitution of Kenya to recognize
Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim
declared regions.
* Within one year facilitate the establishment of a Shariah court in
every Kenyan divisional headquarters. [Note: everywhere in Kenya,
not just in "Muslim declared regions."]
* Popularize Islam, the only true religion… by ordering every primary
school in Kenya in the regions to conduct daily Madrassa classes.
* Impose a total ban on open-air gospel crusades by worshippers of the
cross…
* Outlaw gospel programs… on KBC, the National Broadcaster.
* Impose a total ban on the public consumption of alcoholic beverages…
* Impose an immediate ban on women’s public dressing styles that are
considered immoral and offensive to the Muslim faith…
Obama's involvement in Kenyan politics, whether tribal or religious, is
bothersome.
Especially if it is both.
Then, On January 2nd, 2008, in classic Marxist tradition, Odinga, accused President Mwai Kibaki of stealing the Dec. 27
election, and
rallied his Luo followers in western Kenya, demanding a new
election.
Kibaki "must step down or there must be a re-election -- in this I will
not be compromised. You cannot steal my cow, and I catch you
red-handed, and then expect me to share the milk because the cow is
mine."
More than 1,000 people, mostly Kikuyu Christians, have been killed and
300,000 forced from their homes by Odinga's followers.
Step
Mother
Kezia
Kezia is now a 67-year-old grandmother, she more
than anyone
understands the astonishing nature of Barack's success -- and the
vastness of the journey that has been made in the space of one
generation.
She was married to his father, Barack Sr., who would go on to marry two
more women -- Barack Jr.'s mother Ann Dunham, and an American teacher
called Ruth. But it was Kezia who remained his one true love and to whom he always
returned.
Strangely, Kezia and Ann became great friends, writing to each other
often.
Kezia said, "I'm very proud that he wants to include us in his life.
As a family, we are very friendly, very close.
"The family are still very important to him. That would make Barack Sr.
very happy.
"We have seen each other many times since that first visit, in the US,
in Kenya and in England. I was very fond of Barack Jr.'s mother, Ann.
"She came to Kenya after Barack Sr. died and she and I became great
friends. She was like a sister to me."
Since then, the Obamas have formed an extraordinary bond -- despite
their fractured family history and the vast cultural and geographic
differences.
As well as Auma, Kezia has three sons by Barack Sr. Her two youngest,
Bernard and Abo, live in Nairobi.
Bernard sells mechanical parts while Abo runs an international telephone
shop.
Sister Auma
George Orido
says Dr. Auma Obama’s is telling
her own story in a new autobiography, surprisingly offered in German,
Das Leben Kommt Immer Dazwischen -- Stationen einer Reise (Life Always
Comes in Between Stations of a Journey). In early March, 2011, Auma read
excerpts from her book to a packed audience at the German School in
Nairobi.
For instance, she disputes the notion that her
Harvard-educated father was polygamist at any stage of his life (which
confirms the position that Senior and Stanley Ann Dunham were never
married).
"While my father had a number of wives in his life,
there was only one at any one time," Auma explains, adding that while
her younger brother Barack grew up in the US and Indonesia, her
childhood was in Kenya where their father was born. The two siblings met
for the first time in the 1980s. In the years that followed, they
travelled together through Kenya, exploring their family history.
But why write the autobiography in German, and not English, the
language that’s at least spoken in Kenya and the US, where it would
generate most interest?
"After my A-Levels exams at the Kenya
High School, I landed a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange
Service (DAAD) to study at the University of Heidelberg in Germany,
where I lived for 16 years," Auma explains, pointing out that she got
immersed in German culture. "Since most of my life experiences were in
Germany I expressed those recollections better in Germany," says Auma.
While many publishers approached her for her story, she says, they were
mainly interested in Barack Obama’s story.
Auma details her
culture shock in Germany, such as when her host family stepped out of
their bedrooms in various degrees of undress. But the most shocking was
the family patriarch joining the children wearing nothing, with a roll
of bhang (cannabis AKA marijuana) in hand, smoking casually.
Karin Haggmark a teacher at the German School and who hosted the reading
session appreciated Auma’s accounts and sees the book as a mirror for
the Germans on their values and norms. She singles out Auma’s
frustrating encounter with the admission clerks at her first university.
After reporting and completing the paperwork, Auma expected to be given
a key to her dormitory, as is the practice in Kenya. To her
disappointment the clerk was uninterested and of no help. This is
because while in Kenya academic admission guaranteed accommodation
automatically in Germany, the two were mutually exclusive events. One
had to seek accommodation elsewhere.
After graduating, Auma
proceeded to study film production at the German Film and TV Academy in
Berlin and later pursued graduate studies at the University of Bayreuth
(Germany), which awarded her a doctorate in 1996.
Finally, love
took her to England, where her daughter was born, but life in Europe was
a constant challenge, and her longing for her homeland grew.
She
travelled several times to the USA following the rise of her
half-brother, and returned to Kenya in 2007.
She is the senior
advisor at CARE International in Nairobi, where she works with young
people in the slums of Huruma, Kariobangi, Kibera and Mathare, guiding
them to become confident enough to take control of their own futures.
Auma lives with her daughter and partner in Nairobi.
Brother
Abongo
Obama’s family connections to Islam
would endure, however. For example, his brother Malik, also known as Roy opted for Islam over
Christianity, as Obama recounted when describing his 1992 wedding.
"The person who made
me proudest of all," Obama wrote, "was
Roy. Actually, now we call him Abongo, his Luo name, for two years ago
he decided to reassert his African heritage. He converted to Islam, and
has sworn off pork and tobacco and alcohol."
Abongo "Roy" Obama is a Luo activist and a militant Muslim
who argues
that the black man must "liberate himself from the poisoning influences
of European culture." He urges his younger brother to embrace his
African heritage.
"Abongo’s new lifestyle has left him lean and clear-eyed, and at the
wedding, he looked so dignified in his black African gown with white
trim and matching cap that some of our guests mistook him for my
father," Obama wrote in Dreams From My Father.
Abongo
studied at a madrassa in Nairobi before moving to the United States where
he is an accountant.
When Barack Obama
first met him during a visit to Kenya in 1987, his half-brother Abo
Obama was visibly disappointed that the portable tape recorder his
Chicago relative brought him as a gift wasn't a Sony.
"I nodded
at him, trying not to get angry," Barack Obama wrote in Dreams From My
Father.
The future presidential hopeful wrote that he noticed
something in his half-brother's eyes -- "something that reminded me of
young men back in Chicago. An element of guardedness, perhaps, and
calculation. The look of someone who realizes early in life that
he has been wronged."
Abu is the guy on
the right, in the argyle sweater, in the family portrait (above).
Brother
Bernard
The Sun was the first newspaper to track down and speak
to Bernard Obama, 37,
living in a Bracknell council house. He could soon be dining
with his brother, Barack, at the White House. Bernard, a Muslim,
said, "I’m very proud of my big brother."
Muslim Bernard is staying with his bingo-loving mum Kezia, 67, who has
lived in the Berkshire new town for six years.
Bernard converted to Islam 18 years ago. The father of one said,
"I’m a Muslim, I don’t deny it. My father was raised a Muslim."
Bernard leads a quiet life, running a car parts firm in Nairobi, Kenya,
but he is a regular visitor to the UK to visit Elvis fan Kezia.
Bernard smiled when he spoke of his famous half-brother. He said:
"I was around 17 when I first met Barack."
"He was visiting Kenya and it was obvious from the way he spoke and his
charisma that he was going to be a success."
"He is charming, very good company and very charismatic."
"I’ve met him since with his wife Michelle in Kenya. She’s very nice, a
very strong and intelligent person. I don’t think we will see him
on this visit to Britain. It’s official business and he’ll be very
busy."
Bernard is remaining with Kezia for the next month as she recuperates
from illness.
Brother David
The deceased David Obama is a brother of Mark
Ndesandjo. Both Mark and David are the sons of Ruth and Obama Sr.,
and half-brothers of Obama. When she remarried the boys took
their step-father’s name but when David became a teen he rebelled
against his mother’s American ways and renamed himself David Obama.
He eventually ran away from home and was found wandering the streets
of Nairobi by Roy aka Abongo Malik. Roy took him in and one night
the two went out on Roy’s motorcycle, ending up in a bar. Roy got
into a fight at the bar and was arrested. He gave David the keys
to his motorcycle before he was taken to jail. David, having been
drinking as well, got into a crash on Roy’s motorcycle and died as a
result.
There have been bad feelings between Ruth’s and Kezia’s
families ever since. By all indications David
was born in 1968-1969 and died in 1986-1987 before Barack visited Kenya.
Brother
George
The Italian edition of Vanity Fair said that it had
found George Hussein Onyango Obama living in a hut in a ramshackle
town of Huruma on the outskirts of Nairobi.
George’s mother, Jael (or something similar) was a woman Obama Sr.
hooked up with after his divorce from Ruth, stories say he planned on
marrying her before he died in a car accident. Jael now lives in
Atlanta, GA.
George Obama, 26, the youngest of the presidential candidate's
half-brothers, spoke for the first time about his life, which could not
be more different than that of the Democratic contender.
"No-one knows who I am," he told the magazine, before claiming: "I live
here on less than a dollar a month."
According to Italy's Vanity Fair his two meter by three meter shack is
decorated with football posters of the Italian football giants AC Milan
and Inter, as well as a calendar showing exotic beaches of the world.
Vanity Fair also noted that he had a front page newspaper picture of his
famous brother -- born of the same father as him, Barack Hussein Obama,
but to a different mother, named only as Jael.
He told the magazine: "I live like a recluse, no-one knows I exist."
Related: the Evening Standard recently
revealed
the fact that Obama also failed to honor the pledges of
assistance that he made to a school in his father's village, named in his honor, when he visited
here amid great fanfare two years ago.
Also related: according to Obama’s tax returns from 2000-2006, in all but the
two most recent years reported, the Obamas gave around 1% or less of
their income to charity. Their contributions increased in 2005 and 2006
to 4.7% and 6.1% respectively --
illuminating video.
Obama frequently mentions his relatives in
Kenya when he needs the political relationship, but this millionaire
hasn't done a damned thing to help them. He won't go into his
pocket.
But he'll tax Americans into the next century in order to send them our
tax money, while he keeps his book-millions safe in a tax-exempt trust.
Obama is tight with his and loose with yours.
Jael, George's mother, is a new name. Perhaps the mistress
mentioned on the Family page.
It was only a matter of time: A
website has been created
to provide donations to Obama's half brother [see next item], who lives on $12 a year in
a shack in Kenya. Called "Help Obama's Brother", the site
draws attention to George Hussein Onyango Obama, living in a hut in the
"tough" town of Huruma on the outskirts of Nairobi.
"If Barack Obama won't send his brother a few bucks for rent, we can
step up and help a brother out," headlines the site.
This is a follow-up about the guy living in Third World
poverty and his half-brother, who is the leading candidate to become the
next president of the United States.
He’s in his twenties. He lives in a slum in a hut. He wants
to become a mechanic but doesn’t have the money. He reports that
he gets by on a dollar a month. He met Barack Obama in 2006 for a
few minutes and said it was like talking to a "total stranger." He
said when people notice he has the same name as Barack Obama, he denies
they are related because he is "ashamed." The Democratic
presidential candidate, who made $4 million last year, hasn’t lifted a
finger to help his half-brother.
Dinesh D'Souza's modest campaign to assist George Obama has been
progressing nicely. So far D'Souza has received more than $1,000
in small contributions. With his kickoff contribution of $1,000,
that's upwards of $2,000 for George Obama.
The poverty line in Kenya, according to United Nations estimates, is
around $100 a year. By this measure, D'Souza's little fund has
provided for George for 20 years. Alternatively, George can move
out of his 6 foot-by-10-foot hut and into a more comfortable dwelling.
He can also get the training he needs to become a mechanic.
A reporter for "The Nation" asked D'Souza, "Are you doing this to
embarrass Barack Obama?" To which D'Souza answered, "Absolutely.
He deserves to be embarrassed."
Related: Obama's half-brother arrested
on charge of marijuana possession -- looks like D'Souza's first check
has arrived.
Obama won't go into his pocket for family, but
will go into yours via the "Global
Poverty Act."
The bill, sponsored by Obama, would result in the imposition of a $845
billion global tax on the United States. The bill makes levels of U.S.
foreign aid spending subservient to the dictates of the United Nations.
Obama is all about income redistribution -- at home and abroad -- a true
Marxist.
Brother
Malik
Born in Kenya, on March 15, 1958, Abongo Malik "Roy" Obama was the first
child born to Barack Obama Sr.
The son of Kezia, Obama Sr.'s
first wife, Abongo Malik "Roy" Obama was only 18 months old when Barack
Obama Sr. arrived in New York on a BOAC flight on Aug. 8, 1959, in
transit from Kenya to begin his undergraduate studies at the University
of Hawaii in Honolulu.
Having abandoned Kezia in Kenya, Obama Sr.
subsequently married Stanley Ann Dunham, Barack Obama Jr.'s mother,
while in Honolulu.
In September 1962, Obama Sr. abandoned Stanley
Ann Dunham and his second son, Barack Obama Jr., as he headed for
Cambridge, Mass., to begin graduate studies in economics at Harvard
University.
Barack Obama Sr., on Aug. 17, 1962, in filling an
Immigration and Naturalization form requesting to extend his temporary
stay in the United States, listed Roy Obama as his only child,
neglecting to list Stanley Ann Dunham as his wife or Barack Obama, Jr.
as his son.
Abongo Malik "Roy" Obama is a major character in
Obama’s autobiography, "Dreams from My Father."
A key passage in
the autobiography concerns Obama's reaction to his half-brother when Roy
joins Barack to be the best man at his wedding to Michelle.
Noting that Roy had converted from Christianity to Islam, Obama wrote on
page 441 that Roy had "sworn off pork and tobacco and alcohol."
Obama continued: "Abongo's new lifestyle has left him lean and
clear-eyed, and at the wedding, he looked so dignified in his black
African gown with white trim and matching cap that some of our guess
mistook him for my father."
Pointedly, Obama observed that Roy
was "prone to make lengthy pronouncements on the need for the black man
to liberate himself from the … influences of European culture."
Early in 2011, Roy Obama caused a scandal in Kenya when at 52 years old
he took as his third wife a 19-year-old girl.
According to "The
Voice," an African news magazine in the Netherlands, Obama claimed that
he is legally married to the woman and that the mother of the teenager
had given her permission.
The mother, however, told the news
magazine that here daughter abandoned her "to live with a man old enough
to be her father."
He has a valid Social Security number, issued
in Washington, D.C., between 1985 and 1987, and associated with both the
names "Roy Obama" and "Abongo Malik Obama," names that he appears to use
interchangeably in the U.S.
A private investigative report shows
that Roy Obama has been identified since 1988 with 22 different rental
addresses in the Washington, D.C., area, including addresses in Prince
Georges County and Montgomery County, Md.
According to a recent
report in the Los Angeles Times, Roy Obama, a frequent traveler between
the U.S. and Kenya, has declared himself to be the "president" of
Kyangoma-Koeglo, the family's ancestral village in Kenya.
In October 2010, The Daily Mail (UK)
reported that in Kenya the polygamist half-brother of Barack
Obama has married a woman who is more than 30 years his junior.
Although having two other wives, Malik Obama, 52, wed 19-year-old Sheila
Anyango despite protests from the girl's family.
Malik's new
mother-in-law Mary Aoko Ouma says she is furious her daughter quit
school to get married to the much older man. She says her
daughter tried to marry Malik Obama two years ago, but she wouldn't give
her permission to the nuptials.
Obama's brother has THREE wives! Where's the National
Organization of Women?
This guy was at the inauguration, along
with the rest of the Obamas of Kenya -- you paid for that too!
Brother
Mark
Obama’s half-brother, Mark, has been
helping to promote cheap Chinese exports in a low-profile business
career while the Democratic senator has been winning worldwide fame in
his race for the White House.
He has gone to extraordinary lengths to avoid public attention and his
family links remain unknown to most of his acquaintances in Shenzhen, a
border boomtown in southern China where he has lived since 2002.
Mark Ndesandjo is the son of Barack Obama Sr. and his third wife, an
American woman named Ruth Nidesand who runs the up-market Maduri
kindergarten in Nairobi.
Obama, however, refers to him simply as "my brother" and says he was the
only uncontested heir after their father, a Kenyan, died in a car crash
in 1982.
Mark's internet-based company, Worldnexus Ltd., provides corporate
communications and website design to Chinese firms seeking customers in
English-speaking markets, of which the United States is the biggest.
Worldnexus is not registered to conduct business in Shenzhen and
officials at the city’s commercial administration bureau said this
raised potential issues of taxation and compliance with the law by its
customers.
Ndesandjo, who had an elite education in the United States, collecting a
degree from Brown University, a masters in physics from Stanford and an
MBA from Emory, did not share Obama’s emotional view of his roots.
Obama painted a disappointed picture of his half-brother in his 1995
memoir, Dreams from My Father, in which he celebrated his own return to
Kenya and rediscovery of his African inheritance.
At a rather tense lunch, Obama quoted "Mark" -- his family name is never
given away in the book -- as saying Kenya was "just another poor African
country" to which he felt little attachment.
Mark added: "there’s not much work for a physicist, is there, in a
country where the average person doesn’t have a telephone."
According to Obama’s account, Mark looked him in the eye and said: "You
think that somehow I’m cut off from my roots, that sort of thing.
Well, you’re right."
"At a certain point I made the decision not to think about who my real
father was. He was dead to me even when he was still alive.
I knew that he was a drunk and showed no concern for his wife and
children. That’s enough."
Barack Obama senior fathered eight children by four different women.
Obama has
described Mark as "a black man of my height and complexion with a
bush Afro and horn-rimmed glasses" who was studying physics at Berkeley
during Obama's 1987 visit.
Obama wrote that Mark didn’t want to ask himself a lot of questions
about the meaning of racial identity, dismissing the idea with the
words: "life’s hard enough without all that excess baggage."
Asked last week whether he was quoted accurately in the book, Ndesandjo
did not respond.
Obama wrote that on parting, "we exchanged addresses and promised to
write, with a dishonesty that made my heart ache."
Two decades after that encounter, the extended and complex Obama family
is bound to come under further scrutiny as the US election enters its
final months after the Democratic and Republican party conventions.
"That not enough has been written about his family is strange," wrote
columnist Roger Cohen in the New York Times last March, "If nominated,
Obama’s family baggage will be pored over."
Brother David
Ruth's other son, David, supposedly died (cough)
in 1987 right before little Barry went to Kenya and freaked out the
village neighbor thinking he was David.
So, did David not
have a legal claim to Senior's assets nor did he pursue it?
Brother Samson
BBC News
reports
that Barack Obama's half-brother was denied entry to the UK after being
accused of a serious crime on an earlier visit, the Home Office has
confirmed.
Samson Obama, who lives in Kenya, was on his way to
the US presidential inauguration in January when he was stopped at East
Midlands Airport. According to the News of the World, fingerprint tests
linked him to an alleged sex attack on a British girl. He was questioned
but not charged over the incident in Berkshire, it added.
A Home
Office spokesman said Samson Obama was denied a visa after immigration
officers noticed one of his documents was false. That led them to
further inquiries.
Samson Obama, who runs a mobile phone shop
outside Nairobi, had been planning to make a short break in the UK on
his way to Washington. He eventually took a connecting flight to the US
without formally entering the UK.
A UK Border Agency spokesman
said in general, Britain would oppose the entry of individuals where
their presence was "not conducive to the public good".
Samson
Obama is one of several half-siblings of the US president.
Uncle
Omar
Uncle Omar, who is described in Obama's book, is
also
living in Boston. He was recently beaten by armed robbers with
a "sawed-off rifle" while working in a corner shop in the Dorchester
area of the city. He was later evicted from his one-bedroom flat
for failing to pay $2,324.20 (£1,488) arrears, according to the Boston
Housing Court.
Uncle Omar is better known as uncle Onyango.
Norman Miller
is reporting that a Framingham (Mass)
man illegally in the country from Kenya was drunk when he nearly ran his
sport utility vehicle into a police car Wednesday night on Waverly
Street, police said.
After the near crash, Onyango Obama, 67,
told Officer Val Krishtal that Krishtal should have yielded to his
Mitsubishi SUV, according to a report filed yesterday in Framingham
District Court.
Framingham
(Mass.) Public Information Officer Lieutenant Delaney told the
Washington Times that when Onyango Obama was asked at booking if he
wanted to make a telephone call to arrange for bail, the Kenyan
immigrant replied:

Brother
In-Law
Ian
Manners
Ian Manners, Barack’s former
brother-in-law, divorced from Barack’s sister Auma, is writing a
book about his in-laws.
Barack attended Ian’s 1996 wedding to Auma and famously ran out of a pub
in Wokingham, Berks, during Ian’s stag bash when a raunchy dancer took
to the stage.
Businessman Ian said: "We were having a few drinks, then a stripper
dressed as a St. Trinian’s schoolgirl appeared.
"She was no Miss World and it was the last thing I wanted. As soon
as Barack saw what was about to happen he made a hasty retreat.
"He was in politics already and left the pub immediately."
Ian added: "I played a couple of rounds of golf with him in 1997.
"We had to go to a municipal course because golf clubs wouldn't have
been keen on a black man playing on their course back then."
"He is very competitive and beat me both times. It was obvious
Barack was going to get to the top."
Bernard agreed, saying: "Barack is going to win the election,
definitely, and I want to be in the US for his inauguration.
"He will be a breath of fresh air for the world."
Jael
So far, Jael is a mystery woman. She is
only mentioned as the mother of Obama's half-brother, George.
Jael, was Senior's mistress. Obama Sr. hooked up with her after
his divorce from Ruth. Stories say he planned on marrying her
before he died in a car accident.
Jael now lives in
Atlanta, GA.
The Lost Tribe Of Barack
Obama
Of course, stuff
like this only adds more confusion to the question, "Who are you?
-- 8,000 Beduins stake their claim as the lost tribe of Barack Obama (video)
A sheikh in Galilee says he has evidence that he and his family are
linked by blood to Obama, who has a host of relatives in exotic
locations from Hawaii, Kenya and China and even an aunt living in Boston
(she's in Cleveland now).
Now Barack Obama is being claimed by not one but as many as 8,000 Beduin
tribesmen in northern Israel.
Although the spokesman for the lost tribe of Obama has yet to reveal the
documentary evidence that he says he possesses to support his claim,
people are flocking from across the region to pay their respects to the
"Beduin Obama", whose social standing has gone through the roof.
"We knew about it years ago but we were afraid to talk about it because
we didn’t want to influence the election," Abdul Rahman Sheikh Abdullah,
a 53-year-old local council member, told The Times in the small Beduin
village of Bir al-Maksour in the Israeli region of Galilee. "We
wrote a letter to him explaining the family connection."
It was his 95-year-old mother who first spotted the connection, he says.
Seeing the charismatic senator on television, she noted a striking
resemblance to one of the African migrant workers who used to be
employed by rich sheikhs in the fertile north of British Mandate
Palestine in the 1930s.
The Africans would sometimes marry local Beduin girls and start
families, though, like many migrant workers, would just as frequently
return home after several years.
One of those men was a relative of Barack Obama’s Kenyan grandmother,
Sheikh Abdullah maintains.
Sheikh Abdullah swears that he has papers and pictures to back up his
claim but has promised his mother not to divulge them until he has
presented them to Mr Obama.
Take with a grain of salt, but one more reason
for Obama to put his
bona fides on the table.
