Muslims Await Obama's Change
Two days after the inauguration, a coalition of the 12-largest Muslim organizations in the US has
issued an open-letter to Obama urging him to break away from
the policies of President George Bush's administration and to engage the
American Muslim community.
"We...wish to see you instruct senior
officials in your administration to reinstate roundtables with Muslim
leadership for all departments, such as State, Justice, Homeland
Security and Health and Human Services," said the American Muslim Task
Force on Civil Rights and Elections (AMT).
Unveiling the
"American Muslims in the American Mainstream,"
open-letter in a press conference on Monday, December 29, AMT
chairman Agha Saeed said the incoming Obama administration needs to take
notice of the American Muslim community.
"Ninety-five percent of
Muslims voted on the day of election," he stressed. "That was the
highest voter turnout of any community in America."
"As you
assume your new duties, there are some areas we hope you will list among
your priorities," read their open-letter.
"This includes
restoring due process, objective justice, repealing manifestly
unconstitutional clauses of the USA PATRIOT ACT, ending COINTELPRO
campaigns against Muslim and Arab American communities, and ensuring
that our nation rejects the use of ex post facto laws."
"We look
forward to your proposals for providing universal healthcare to our
citizens and fixing our nation’s broken immigration system."
"We
demand that our government, the US government, take immediate
steps to end the immoral and illegal Israeli bombardment of Gaza and its
population," said Awad.
Obama Accuses US Of
Colonialism
When Al Arabiya
said to Obama that America "was the only Western Power that was not
colonial." Obama simply said "Right." You would think a patriot
like Obama would have said "Excuse me, but the United States still isn't
a colonial power." If such a statement had occurred I would be
here applauding Obama.
Instead he took his rant about the United
States being a colonialist imperialist power, one step further.
Obama: "We sometimes make mistakes. We have not been perfect.
But if you look at the track record, as you say, America was not born as
a colonial power, and that the same respect and partnership that America
had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago, there's no
reason why we can't restore that."
Apparently, George Bush, Bill
Clinton, and George W. Bush (since 20 years we have been Colonial powers
according to Obama) are all Colonialist Imperialist evil geniuses.
Is this the "Unified America," Obama always talks about?
Accusing past presidents of colonialism? Does he even know what
Colonialism means?
Submission
Obama was working with Arab intermediaries to establish an
unofficial dialogue with Al Qaida long before the election,
according to a report in the Feb. 4th edition of
Geostrategy-Direct.com.
Al Qaida has offered what has been
described as a truce (hudna)
in exchange for a U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan, according
to the report.
Obama has deemed the U.S. reconciliation with the
Muslim world, including Iran, as his main foreign policy goal, sources
quoted in the report said. Obama has been aided by several Persian
Gulf Arab Muslims with ties to Al Qaida's leadership in Pakistan.
On his first day in office, Obama ordered the shutdown of the U.S.
Navy prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where 245 Al Qaida members are
detained,
saying, "Can we guarantee that they're not going to try to
participate in another attack? No." But he'll let them free
nonetheless.
Obama
spoke about his own ties to the Muslim world:
"Now, my job is
to communicate the fact that the United States has a stake in the
well-being of the Muslim world, that the language we use has to be a
language of respect," Obama said. "I have Muslim members of my
family. I have lived in Muslim countries."
"My job to the
Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy --
we sometimes make mistakes -- we have not been perfect."
Whose job is it to communicate to
this fool that al Qaeda is OUR enemy?
Trained as a Muslim, Obama
knows that in Islam, the world is divided into two parts -- Dar
al-Islam and Dar al-Harb.
Dar al-Islam literally means the
"House of Peace" which is all the lands conquered and subjugated by
Islam.
Dar al-Harb literally means the "House of War" which is
all the lands currently not conquered by Islam.
Islam's chief
goal is to eventually conquer and subjugate all the lands of Dar al-Harb
into one territory called Dar al-Islam. Only after all people and
all lands of the world have been conquered and have submitted to Islam
is there to be "peace" in the world.
Update: Ayman al-Zawahri, Al Qaeda's deputy leader, said
Washington remains a main enemy of Muslims.
"I remind our
mujahideen brothers that our enemy in Gaza is not only Israel but the
Zionist-crusader coalition, with America, the leader of evil ... at its
head."
"The Zionist-crusader (Israeli-Western) campaign against
Islam and the Muslims cannot be defeated without warfare," Zawahri said,
calling the devout to join a jihad.
Looks like al-Zawahiri didn't get
Obama's memo.
Screw You Cheney -- Take This
ABC News has
learned that Obama will order the Department of Defense's Military
Commission to withdraw charges against terrorist suspect
Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, who been identified as the former Persian
Gulf Operations Chief for al Qaeda and the mastermind of the
attack on
the U.S.S. Cole, that killed 17 American sailors and wounded nine.
Obama tied his administration's own hands, requiring his Secretary
of Defense to drop the charges. The executive order President
Obama signed on closing the Guantanamo Detention Facilities states that
"all proceedings" in the US Military Commissions must be "halted."
Last week the judge supervising the al-Nashiri trial -- Army Col.
James L. Pohl, the chief judge at the Guantanamo Bay war crimes court --
said he would not heed President Obama's request for a 120-day
continuance, or delay, in prosecutions of terrorism suspects. Pohl
called the president's request "not reasonable" and not "in the
interests of justice."
The arraignment of al-Nashiri was
scheduled for Monday, February 9. These Gitmo grads just
murdered an
American woman, among others, in Yemen.
Winning Over Muslims
Obama was asked, in a television interview with CNN's "Anderson Cooper
360," why he hasn't used the oft-repeated "war on terror" phrase coined
by the Bush administration. Obama
said he believes the U.S. can win over moderate Muslims if he
doesn't.
Instead, Obama has spoken broadly of the "enduring
struggle against terrorism and extremism" and pledged to "go after"
extremists and "win this fight."
"I think it is very important
for us to recognize that we have a battle or a war against some
terrorist organizations," Obama said Tuesday. "But that those
organizations aren't representative of a broader Arab community, Muslim
community."
He added that he believes the U.S. can convince
Muslims "that we should be working together to make sure that everybody
has got a better life."
Hussein Comes Out Of The
Closet
In Early February, 2009, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR),
part of the Muslim Brotherhood's Palestine Committee, welcomed Obama's
use of a quote from Islam's Prophet Muhammad in his remarks at
Thursday's National Prayer Breakfast.
In his prepared
remarks, Obama quoted the prophetic tradition, or "hadith," which
states: "None of you truly believes until he wishes for his brother what
he wishes for himself. There is no religion whose central tenet is
hate. There is no God who condones taking the life of an innocent
human being."
Arguably, that is true: there is no religion whose
central tenet is hate: there is no religion that teaches that the most
important thing one must do in this world is hate someone or something
else. But certainly the religion that comes closest to teaching
such a thing is Islam. If the Qur'an doesn't teach that Muslims
should hate unbelievers, certainly it teaches that they should be harsh
with them, consider them the worst of all created beings, not become
friends with them, and, ultimately, wage war against and kill or
subjugate them:
"O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and
the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He
among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah
guideth not wrongdoing folk." -- Qur'an 5:51
"O ye who believe!
Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find
harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty
(unto Him)." -- Qur'an 9:123
"Those who reject (Truth), among the
People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to
dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures." --
Qur'an 98:6
"Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last
Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His
Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of
the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing
submission, and feel themselves subdued." -- Qur'an 9:29

Listen Up, Obama
Obama
promised that during his first 100 days in office, he would deliver
a major address in a key Islamic capital aimed at improving America’s
ties with the Muslim world.
Looking ahead to Obama’s address,
leading Islamic governments say improving relations between Islam and
the West will require a review of anti-terror policies and a recognition
of the need to address what they say are the "root causes" of terrorism.
At a meeting this week hosted by Pakistan’s Council of Islamic
Ideology, ambassadors from Muslim countries put forward recommendations
that they said would help to improve relations.
Iranian
Ambassador Mashaallah Shakeri said, "Now, the U.S. must listen
prior to talking."
"Bloodshed and suicide attacks have nothing to
do with Islam," said Pakistan’s religious affairs minister, Hamid Saeed
Kazmi.
Syrian envoy Muhammad Raid Ismat called for a distinction
between terrorism and what he called a legitimate struggle for a
homeland.
Participants said Islam was misunderstood in the West,
and they took issue with the linking of terrorism and Islam.
Two
hundred years ago, John Quincy Adams, the sixth American President
understood these "root causes," and
wrote, "The precept of the Koran is, perpetual war against all who
deny, that Mahomet is the prophet of God. The vanquished may
purchase their lives, by the payment of tribute; the victorious may be
appeased by a false and delusive promise of peace; and the faithful
follower of the prophet, may submit to the imperious necessities of
defeat: but the command to propagate the Moslem creed by the sword is
always obligatory, when it can be made effective. The commands of
the prophet may be performed alike, by fraud, or by force."
International Criminal Court
Two weeks ago, U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice, in a closed Security
Council meeting, voiced support for the International Criminal Court
(ICC). She said it "looks to become an important and credible
instrument for trying to hold accountable the senior leadership
responsible for atrocities committed in the Congo, Uganda and Darfur."
Obama said little about the ICC during his campaign for the
White House. But in his first weeks as President, his actions
speak less to constituents in Peoria and the Bronx than to admirers in
Paris and Brussels. Obama’s trans-American constituent service
includes his decision to shutter "Gitmo" and grant his first
presidential interview with Al Arabiya television.
In his
inauguration speech, Obama declared that "America is ready to lead once
more." He said American power "does [not] entitle us to do as we
please." In the parlance of the Left, these suggest submission to
international authority, which was raised again last week when Ben
Chang, spokesman for National Security Advisor General James Jones,
echoed Rice’s comments about the Court. In the context of an ICC
indictment for Sudanese President Omar Bashir, Chang told the Washington
Times, "We support the ICC in its pursuit of those who’ve perpetrated
war crimes."
So, what will ICC engagement
mean for
the United States?
"If the United States were to join the ICC,"
David Scheffer and John Hutson write, "one would have to accept at least
the theoretical possibility that American citizens (particularly
political and military leaders) could be prosecuted before the ICC on
charges of committing atrocity crimes," and without the protections
afforded by Constitutional and laws.
Waterboarding; Abu Ghraib;
detaining terrorists at Guantanamo Bay dissing Hans Blix.
Self-loathing Americans whose minds are confined in the cult of
globalism don’t see it that way. Each of these "offenses" has at
least one thing in common: they hurt the feelings of foreigners.
Insensitivity to the outside world, U.S. internationalists argue, is a
stain on Uncle Sam’s reputation from which we must repent.
I'll Forge New Ties With Muslims
In phone
conversations with the leaders of Indonesia,
Saudi Arabia and the Philippines on Friday, Obama
discussed his commitment to forging a new
relationship with Islamic countries, among other
issues.
The White House said Obama
discussed the importance of improving US relations
with Islamic countries with Indonesian President Susilo
Bambang Yudhoyono.
Obama noted that he and Yudhoyono would
attend the Group of 20 nations summit next month in London.
At
the end of his European trip next month, Obama is scheduled to visit
Turkey, a Muslim country where relations with the US were strained by
the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Obama and King Abdullah of Saudi
Arabia, another G-20 country and longtime US ally in the Middle East,
agreed on the importance of maintaining a strong US-Saudi relationship
to promote peace and security in the region.
The White House
said they also spoke about coordinating international efforts to restore
economic growth.
In his conversation with Philippine President
Gloria Macapagal Arroy, Obama commended her country's efforts against
terrorism and in modernizing the armed forces. They also talked about
cooperating on other issues, including climate change and education, the
White House said.
Obama and Arroyo also reaffirmed their
commitment to the long-standing US-Philippine alliance, including the
Visiting Forces Agreement, a bilateral pact that governs the conduct of
US forces in the country.
Negotiating With Terrorists
A group of former senior American
officials and one current top adviser to the Obama administration are
petitioning the U.S. president to
open talks with the Hamas terrorist
organization, believing the group can be part of the Palestinian peace
process.
Paul Volcker, a former Federal Reserve chairman who was
selected by Obama to head his new economic recovery advisory board,
reportedly signed a letter advocating dialogue with Hamas.
Other
signatories of the letter reportedly included Brent Scowcroft, national
security adviser to George Bush Sr., Zbigniew Brzezinski, who was
President Jimmy Carter's security adviser. Brzezinski's pro-Hamas views
have been aired publicly in newspaper opinion pieces and policies
speeches; former House International Relations Committee chairman Lee
Hamilton; former United Nations ambassador Thomas Pickering; former
World Bank president James Wolfensohn; former U.S. trade representative
Carla Hills; Theodore Sorensen, former special counsel to President John
F. Kennedy; and former Republican Sens. Chuck Hagel and Nancy Kassebaum
Baker.
"I see no reason not to talk to Hamas," Scowcroft told the
Globe.
The Telegraph of London reported the group is expected to
be granted an audience at the White House as early as this week to make
their case to Obama that lines of communication should be opened with
Hamas.
A top Palestinian Authority negotiator pointed to Sen. John Kerry's visit
last month to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip and the Massachusetts
lawmaker's reported acceptance of a letter from the Islamist group as
"legitimizing Hamas."
Our enemies can always count on John Kerry.
Let My People Go
Some of the Guantanamo Bay
prisoners could be released
into the United States while others could be
put on trial in the American court system, Attorney General Eric Holder
said on Wednesday.
Holder told reporters at the Justice
Department that the administration's review, made on a case-by-case
basis, would determine whether the prisoners need to be put on trial or
whether they can be released.
"For those who are in that second
category, who can be released, there are a variety of options that we
have. Among them is the possibility that we could release them into this
country," he said.
"We've been trying to come up with places for
them," Holder said of the Uighurs, 17 Chinese Muslims. Their lawyers have asked Obama to
bring them to the United States.
Holder said the administration was
also looking at the possibility of putting some of the Guantanamo prisoners
on trial in U.S. courts. "My guess is that some of those people would be
tried in" the U.S. court system, he said.
Obama To Attend Pro-Islamist Conference
Obama
will visit Turkey between April 6-7 to
attend an annual forum of the Alliance of Civilizations in Istanbul,
Spanish diplomatic sources said on Monday. Turkey’s president said
Tuesday Obama's planned visit was very important. Obama will attend the
second annual forum of the U.N.-led Alliance of Civilizations
initiative, co-chaired by Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and his
Spanish counterpart Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
The
Global Muslim Brotherhood Report describes the Alliance of Civilizations
as an organization which is represented in the U.S. and Europe by
individuals sympathetic to the global
Muslim Brotherhood. According to
the AOC website, the AOC "High Level Group Members" in the U.S. and
Western Europe are: Prof. John Esposito (United States), Rabbi Arthur Schneier (United States), Hubert
Védrine (France), and Karen Armstrong (United Kingdom)
Esposito is an
apologist for the radical Islamist movement;
Impugning those
who equate Islamist movements "with radicalism and terrorism," Esposito
claims that such thinking merely "becomes a convenient pretext for
crushing political opposition." Islamist movements, he explains,
"are not necessarily anti-Western, anti-American, or anti-democratic."
Moreover, he minimizes the fact that those nations that have adopted
Islamic law are, for the most part, totalitarian states that export
terrorism and egregiously violate the human rights of their inhabitants.
" Contrary to what some have advised," he writes, "the United States
should not in principle object to implementation of Islamic law or
involvement of Islamic activists in government."
In fact
all of the attendees above are apologists of either the radical Islamist
movement or to the Muslim Brotherhood.
The question is why is the
US Commander of Chief of a War on Terrorism attending a conference that
supports a radical Islamist point of view?
More than two months
into Barack Obama's presidency, as many people
identify him as a Muslim
as did so during the 2008 campaign. When asked about Obama's religious
beliefs, 11% say he is a Muslim. In October, 12% said Obama is a Muslim,
which was unchanged from earlier in the campaign.
In the current
survey, 35% say they do not know Obama's religion, either because they
do not know enough about him (22%), or because they have heard different
things about his religion (13%); another 6% refused to answer.
As
was the case last fall, white evangelical Protestants (19%) and
Republicans (17%) are among the most likely to view Obama as a Muslim. Fewer than half in each group -- 38% of white evangelicals and 46% of
Republicans -- identify Obama as a Christian.
While relatively
few Democrats (7%) say Obama is a Muslim, just 55% identify his
religious beliefs as Christian, down slightly from 61% last fall. Among
independents, 10% say Obama is a Muslim (compared with 12% in October),
while 45% say he is a Christian (50% in October).
The latest
national survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press,
conducted March 9-12 among 1,308 adults reached on landlines and cell
phones, finds continuing educational differences in views of Obama's
religious beliefs: 68% of college graduates identify Obama as a
Christian, while 6% say he is a Muslim. By contrast, just a third (33%)
of those with no more than a high school education say Obama is a
Christian, while 14% see him as a Muslim.
Pew's polling numbers might change,
once the American public sees these images.
Of course, they never will if the national media has their way.
Three days ago, I asked visitors to The Obama File to submit the names
of those news sources that published Obama's humiliating display of
dhimmitude.
I'm still waiting for the first report.
"I Am One Of Them"
In early April, 2009,
Obama made an address to the Turkish Parliament in Ankara, Turkey. Al-Jazeera's Anita McNaught,
reporting from Istanbul, wrote: "This was the
address we had all been waiting for, it hit all the right notes."
"He
talked about the contribution of the Islamic faith in the life of
American Muslims and then he personalised that message by saying 'I know
because I am one of them.' It was a message that reached out to many
today...."
In the same speech, Obama said, "we do
not consider ourselves a Christian nation."
I don't know if Obama
had a mouse in his pocket, but I know he wasn't speaking for the 78.5%
of US citizens who call themselves Christians (CIA
World Factbook). Perhaps the "we" he was referring to is the
0.6% of Americans who are Muslims. That would make sense.

Well,
I have the Al Jazeera page cached, so they can kiss the soles of my

I have repeatedly been called every name in the book by the
Obots for re-publishing articles that even remotely suggest that Obama
is a Muslim -- but here it is -- straight from the donkey's mouth --
Obama, himself, telling the Muslim world that he is one of them --
that's why he humbled himself before the
protector of the two holy places.
Now, get ready for the Obots to
parse what Obama really meant, as they try to cover up this frank
admission.
My

The

Obama Says Islam Has Shaped The U.S.A.
Robert
Spencer, writing at
Front Page Magazine comments on Obama's statement to
the Turkish Parliament, "We will convey our deep appreciation for the
Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the
world -- including in my own country."
Undeniably the Islamic
faith has done a great deal to shape the world -- a statement that makes
no value judgment about exactly how it has shaped the world. It has
formed the dominant culture in what is known as the Islamic world for
centuries. But what on earth could Obama mean when he says that Islam
has also "done so much" to shape his own country?
Unless he
considers himself an Indonesian, Obama’s statement was extraordinarily
strange. After all, how has the Islamic faith shaped the United States? Were there Muslims along Paul Revere’s ride, or standing next to Patrick
Henry when he proclaimed, "Give me liberty or give me death"? Were there
Muslims among the framers or signers of the Declaration of Independence,
which states that all men -- not just Muslims, as Islamic law would have
it -- are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights,
including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Were there Muslims
among those who drafted the Constitution and vigorously debated its
provisions, or among those who enumerated the Bill of Rights, which
guarantees -- again in contradiction to the tenets of Islamic law -- that
there should be no established national religion, and that the freedom
of speech should not be infringed?
There were not.
Did
Muslims play a role in the great struggle over slavery that defined so
much of our contemporary understandings of the nature of this republic
and of the rights of the individual within it? They did not. Did the
Islamic faith shape the way the United States responded to the titanic
challenges of the two World Wars, the Great Depression, or the Cold War? It did not. Did the Islamic faith, with its legal apparatus that
institutionalizes discrimination against non-Muslims, shape the civil
rights movement in the United States? The Civil Rights Act of 1964
mandated equality of access to public facilities -- a hard-won victory
that came at a great cost, and one that Muslim groups have tried to roll
back in the United States recently. One notable example of such attempts
was the alcohol-in-cabs controversy at the Minneapolis-St. Paul
international airport, when Muslim cabdrivers began to refuse service to
customers who were carrying alcohol, on Islamic religious grounds. The
core assumption underlying this initiative -- that discrimination on the
basis of religion is justified -- cut right to the heart of the core
principle of the American polity, that "all men are created equal," that
is, that they have a right to equal treatment in law and society.
Surveying the whole tapestry of American history, one would be
hard-pressed to find any significant way in which the Islamic faith has
shaped the United States in terms of its governing principles and the
nature of American society. Meanwhile, there are numerous ways in which,
if there had been a significant Muslim presence in the country at the
time, some of the most cherished and important principles of American
society and law may have met fierce resistance, and may never have seen
the light of day.
So in what way has the Islamic faith shaped
Obama’s country? The most significant event connected to the Islamic
faith that has shaped the character of the United States was the attack
on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. Those
attacks have shaped the nation in numerous ways: they’ve led to numerous
innovations in airline security, which in generations to come -- if
today’s politically correct climate continues to befog minds -- may be
added to future versions of the fanciful "1001 Muslim Inventions"
exhibition. The Islamic faith has shaped the U.S. since 9/11 in leading
to the spending of billions on anti-terror measures, and to the ventures
in Iraq and Afghanistan, and to Guantanamo, and to so many features of
the modern political and social landscape that they cannot be enumerated
within the space of a single article.
Of course, it is certain
that Obama had none of that in mind. But what could he possibly have had
in mind? His statement was either careless or ignorant, or both -- not
qualities we need in a Commander-in-Chief even in the best of times.
U.S. Muslim Coalition Applauds Obama
The
American Muslim Taskforce on Civil Rights and Elections (AMT), a
coalition of major national Islamic organizations,
applauded Obama's
Monday address to the Turkish parliament, in a statement issued today at
a press briefing at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. It
reads, in part:
We applaud President Obama's remarks and hope
that they are a sign of improved relations between America and the
Muslim world. In his speech, Obama rightly said that the United States
is not and will never be at war with Islam. This is a position that
needs restating at every opportunity.
We also agree with the
president's statement that better relations with the Muslim world are
vital in 'rolling back a fringe ideology that people of all faiths
reject.
We appreciate that the president noted the contributions
of American Muslims and recognized that many Americans have Muslims in
their family, or have lived in a Muslim-majority country.
Turkey
is a key player in the region and is well-placed to assist the United
States in reaching out to nations such as Iran and Syria and to help
achieve a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli
conflict. We also support President Obama's backing of Turkey's entry
into the European Union.
The American Muslim community believes
President Obama's new policy of dialogue and mutual respect will serve
our nation and the cause of world peace and stability much better than
past policies of unilateralism and confrontation.
At today's
briefing, AMT representatives also called on Obama to address domestic
issues such as the rising level of Islamophobic attitudes in the United
States, the deteriorating relations between the FBI and American
Muslims, the dissemination of inaccurate and agenda-driven information
by DHS-recognized "fusion centers," and Muslims' concerns about Justice
Department guidelines implemented in December 2008 that allow race and
ethnicity to be factors in opening an FBI probe.
If a coalition of major national
Islamic organizations is happy about Obama's pronouncements, it can't be
too good for the rest of us. Sharia law is coming to America.
Obama Invites The OIC To The White House
Since taking office
Obama has focused on three things -- the transformation of our
capitalistic economy to a form of socialist statist fascism, the
abdication of American sovereignty to a trans-nationalism and the
advancement of the worldwide domination of Islam, the ultimate goal of
the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). There is conspiracy
theory and conspiracy fact -- the global jihad is conspiracy fact. And
the OIC is behind it.
The Secretary General of the OIC,
Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, had the occasion on the sidelines
of the 2nd Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations (AoC), to have a brief
encounter with Obama. The encounter took place during the official
reception given by Turkish Prime Minister, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan,
where Obama reiterated to the Secretary General the willingness
and readiness of the U. S. Administration to explore areas of
cooperation with the OIC.
To this end, Obama extended an
invitation to Prof. Ihsanoglu to visit the White House in Washington
D.C.
Bat Ye'or, the world's leading scholar on Islam, has this to
say about the OIC:
The OIC
is one of the largest intergovernmental organizations in the world. It
encompasses 57 Muslim states plus the Palestinian Authority. Spread over
four continents, it claims to speak in the name of the ummah (the
universal Muslim community), which numbers about 1.3 billion. The OIC’s
mission is to unite all Muslims worldwide by rooting them in the Koran
and the Sunnah -- the core of traditional Islamic civilization and
values. It aims at strengthening solidarity and cooperation among all
its members, in order to protect the interests of Muslims everywhere and
to galvanize the ummah into a unified body.
The OIC is a unique
organization -- one that has no equivalent in the world. It unites the
religious, economic, military, and political strength of 57 states. By
contrast, the European Union represents half as many states and is a
secular body only, and the Vatican -- which speaks for the world’s 1.1
billion Catholics -- is devoid of any political or military power. Many Muslims in
the West resist the OIC’s tutelage and oppose its efforts to supplant
Western law with sharia. But the OIC’s resources are formidable.
The organization has numerous subsidiary institutions collaborating
at the highest levels with international organizations in order to
implement its political objectives worldwide. Its main working bodies
are the Islamic Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization
(ISESCO), which seeks to impose on the West the Islamic perception of
history and civilization; the Observatory of Islamophobia, which puts
pressure on Western governments and international bodies to adopt laws
punishing "Islamophobia" and blasphemy; and the newly created Islamic
International Court of Justice. As stated in its 1990 Cairo Declaration
on Human Rights in Islam, the OIC is strictly tied to the principles of
the Koran, the Sunnah, and the sharia. In a word, the OIC seeks to
become the reincarnation of the Caliphate.
The OIC regularly
reiterates its commitments to protecting the political, historical,
religious, and human rights of Muslims in non-OIC states, especially
Muslims who form the majority in specific regions of non-Muslim
countries -- such as the southern Philippines, southern Thailand, and
western Thrace in Greece -- as well as Muslims in places like the
Balkans, the Caucasus, Myanmar, India, and China. The OIC supports Hamas
and the Palestinians in their struggle to destroy Israel, as well as the
Muslim fight for "legitimate self-determination" in "Indian-occupied
Jammu and Kashmir." It has condemned the "continual Armenian aggression
against Azerbaijan," and it expresses its full solidarity with "the just
cause of the Muslim Turkish people of Cyprus" and with Sudanese
President Omar Hassan Al-Bashir, whom many hold responsible for
encouraging the massacres in Darfur. The seat of the OIC is in Jeddah,
but the organization regards that location as temporary: Its
headquarters will be transferred to al-Kods (Islamized Jerusalem) when
that city has been "liberated" from Israeli control.
In its
efforts to defend the "true image" of Islam and combat its defamation,
the organization has requested the UN and the Western countries to
punish "Islamophobia" and blasphemy. Among the manifestations of Islamophobia, in the OIC’s view, are European opposition to illegal
immigration, anti-terrorist measures, criticism of multiculturalism, and
indeed any efforts to defend Western cultural and national identities. The OIC has massive funding from oil sources, which it lavishly spends
on the Western media and academia and in countless "dialogues." It
influences Western policy, laws, and even textbooks through pressures
brought by Muslim immigrants and by the Western nations' own leftist
parties. Hence, we have seen Kristallnacht-like incitements of hate and
murder against European Jews and Israel conducted with impunity in the
cities of Europe -- where respect for human rights is supposed to be one
of the highest values.
Obama, who made a point of
being introduced to the Turkish Nation as "Barack Hussein Obama," was
quoted as saying that, "the United States has been enriched by
Muslim Americans," including his ancestors.
The following is a
list of the Muslim accomplishments that have enriched America:

Obama's Five Pillars
Atlas Shrugs
asks if any
of you watched Obama's propaganda speech earlier today, and did you find
it shocking when he described his plan for America in the context of
"five pillars"?
Last month Obama
revealed
his "Five Pillars of Education."
Today he declared his dedication to what he called the "five pillars" of
his new "house upon a rock."
In Islam, the Five Pillars of Islam
(Arabic: أركان الإسلام) is the term given to the
five duties incumbent
on every Muslim.
These duties are Shahada (Profession of Faith),
Salat (Prayers), Zakat (Giving of Alms), Sawm (Fasting during Ramadan)
and Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca).
Obama gives the lone jihadi syndrome a whole new meaning.
Obama's repeated use of the
"five pillars" is obviously just a coincidence. Just like Obama's
humiliating submission to the Protector of the two Holy Places. (sarcasm off)

Three weeks before Obama sicked his Justice and Homeland Security
Departments on America's heroes,
Obama, as one of his first acts, signed an executive order
-- he says, "in the national interest" -- that will allow thousands of
Gazan Palestinians
to settle in the United States at American taxpayers' expense. Sure, what
can go wrong when we allow thousands of people who have
been, as Mark Steyn memorably described, "marinated" in a "sick death
cult," who voted for Hamas, and 55% of whom support suicide
bombing/murders, into the United States?
By executive order,
Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in
immigration assistance to the Palestinians. Egypt won't take
them. Jordan won't take them. Syria won't take them. Saudi Arabia won't take
them. All of the Arab countries -- every one of them -- have allowed the
Palestinians to fester for over 60 years. Meanwhile, generation after
generation have become more and more radicalized. Their lives are
unfulfilled and unproductive. They "live" to die as martyrs, yearning for the rewards
of the world beyond.
This "presidential determination" will allow
thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in
the United States. The determination was assigned on January 27 and
appeared in the Federal Register on February 4. Obama's
decision, according to the Register, was necessitated by "the urgent
refugee and migration needs" of the "victims."
Few on Capitol
Hill took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with
housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their
overwhelming support of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the
parliamentary election of January 2006.

Obama has some
interesting priorities.
Obama's Address To The Muslim World
In early May, the grand
mufti of Egypt has invited Obama to
address Muslims around the
globe from one of the most important mosques in the Islamic world.
The invitation to speak from Egypt's Al Azhar mosque follows an
announcement over this past weekend that Obama will travel to Egypt next
month to deliver his promised address to the Muslim world.
According to Al-Masri Al-Yawm, a state-run Egyptian newspaper, Grand
Mufti Ali Gomaa and other scholars from Egypt's Al Azhar University
invited Obama to use the mosque as venue for the president's upcoming
visit, explaining it would promote a culture of dialogue between Islam
and the West.
Al AZhar University is the most respected Sunni
Islamic learning center in the world and is the second oldest
degree-granting school in the world. Clerics at the university's
attendant mosque decide Islamic Sharia law matters for Sunni Muslims
internationally.
The university opened studies in 975 AD. It was
founded by the Fatimid dynasty of Egypt, which is descended from the
daughter of the Islamic figure Muhammad.
It is highly unusual for
a non-Muslim to speak at the mosque. An Egyptian official,
contacted by WND, could not think of any non-Muslim world leader who had
received an invitation to do so.
Obama had pledged he
would deliver an address to the Muslim world within his first few months
in office. His first interview as president was with Al Arabiya,
the
pan-Arab television network.
White House press secretary Robert
Gibbels said on Saturday the city where Obama will deliver the address has
not been selected.
Gibbels said Obama decided upon Egypt because
the country "in many ways represents the heart of the Arab world." He
said the issues of democracy and human rights "are things that are on
the president's mind, and we'll have a chance to discuss those in more
depth on the trip."
"This isn't a speech to leaders," Gibbels
said. "This is a speech to many, many people and a continuing effort by
this president and this White House to demonstrate how we can work
together to ensure the safety and security and the future well-being,
through hope and opportunity, of the children of this country and of the
Muslim world."
If you
wonder why I compare White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs (Gibbels)
to Joseph Goebbels, jus re-read that last paragraph.
Our safety
and security, and the future well-being of the children of this country,
should be based on hope? That's insane!
And, this is an
interesting statement -- It is highly
unusual for a non-Muslim to speak at the mosque. An Egyptian
official...could not think of any non-Muslim world leader who had
received an invitation to do so.
We all know that Obama isn't a
Muslim, don't we. After all, he said so.
Obama Lends Validity To Extremist Islam
David Frum believes Barack Obama made an unwise commitment during
his campaign. Actually he made quite a number of them, but this column
will have to settle for dealing with just one: Candidate Obama promised
to deliver a major speech to the Muslim world from a Muslim capital. On
June 4, Obama will make good on that promise in Cairo.
What could go wrong with this heartwarming outreach? Begin with this
question: Does Obama regard Salman Rushdie and Ayaan Hirsi Ali
as belonging to the Muslim world, yes or no?
If yes -- if "the
Muslim world" includes everyone who happens to be born to a family of
Muslim origin regardless of their personal belief, and if it includes
liberals of Muslim origin, secularists of Muslim origin, atheists of
Muslim origin -- then it seems almost pointless to speak to them all as
a distinctive group.
The more likely answer however is no. Almost
inevitably, Obama’s speech will address the most anti-Western,
the most militant, the most radical Muslims. The decision to speak "to"
the Muslim world is a decision to speak "to" these rejectionists.
Look at the choice of venue. Obama could have spoken from
Indonesia or Bangladesh -- each of them home to more Muslims than live
in the Arab Middle East. In Indonesia and Bangladesh, the prevailing
forms of Islam are moderate and tolerant. Each of these countries is
working to build a more democratic society, more connected to the global
economy.
Instead Obama chose Egypt. Egypt is the
intellectual center of the most radical forms of Islam. The Muslim
Brotherhood originated in Egypt, as did Sayyid Qutb, the ideologist of
modern jihad. This is the country of Yusuf al-Qaradawi and Ayman
Zawahiri. It would be extremely odd to speak from Egypt and not take
such men and their ideas into account.
But to do so has an
ironic side effect: The very fact that an American leader talks about
these extremist Muslims -- and tries to talk through them to reach their
sympathizers -- validates them as the most important and significant of
Muslim individuals. It risks conceding that these men are somehow the
most "authentic" of Muslims, and that their anger and alienation somehow
matters more than the desire of other Muslims to live in a more secular
society or to participate more fully in the global economy.
Radical Muslims have constructed a narrative in which Islam is oppressed
and colonized by the West, Muslims have real and reasonable grievances
against the West and any acrimony between Muslims and the West is due to
the actions of the West.
Perhaps Obama will dispute this
narrative. But can he really go to Cairo and dismiss the narrative
altogether?
Can he say that the problems of Muslim majority
countries have nothing to do with the West -- that if they are
victimized it is by their own leaders, if they are backward it is due to
their own rejection of modern ways of life?
The very act of
speaking to individuals of Muslim origin as Muslims concedes a point
that an American leader should be wary of conceding. No leader
would ever give a speech to "the Christian world." He’d take for granted
that Christian identity is personal and private, not collective and
public. He’d remember that Christian-majority countries contain
non-Christian minorities, entitled to equal respect. He’d understand
that many in the Christian majority define their identity in terms other
than religion; and that the freedom to choose how to define oneself is
one of the fundamental principles of a free society. Qaradawi and
the Muslim Brotherhood insist that Islam is inescapably public and
political. But why would an American leader agree? Yet if he speaks
to "the Muslim world" how can he avoid agreeing?
The Pakistani
scholar who wants to be free to study the origins of the Koran without
fear of violence if he reaches an unorthodox conclusion -- isn’t he part
of the Muslim world too? The Saudi woman who would like to wear jeans in
public? The Iranian youth who would like to convert to the Bahai faith? The Syrian merchant who thinks mosque is a waste of time? The French
student who celebrates Ramadan with his parents and Christmas with his
girlfriend? Or his boyfriend?
Obama’s 2009
Supplemental Appropriations for Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and
Pandemic Flu was revised and "passed by the full committee." Not
sure what the next step is, but based on the summary, it gives
billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to countries and entities that
support Sharia law and/or harbor, hide and support those who want to
destroy the U.S. and our allies.
Read the
summary from David Obey’s office that was quietly released last week
with nary a word from any media.

bailout
scheme in addition to the Supplemental.
Obama Funds Hamas
Obama has
asked Congress to
let aid to Palestinians continue if
Hamas backers are included in a new
unity government, observers say.
The proposed change in U.S. law
would be necessary because Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, is
designated as a terrorist organization and therefore cannot receive U.S.
aid. But power-sharing negotiations between Hamas and the rival Fatah
faction, which controls the West Bank, may result in a unity Palestinian
government that includes ministers backed by Hamas, the Los Angeles
Times reported.
The White House sought the change as part of a
bill authorizing $840 million for the Palestinian Authority as well as
for rebuilding Gaza after this year’s 22-day Israeli military assault.
The Hamas proposal brought criticism from U.S. lawmakers, the Times
said -- one of whom, U.S. Rep. Mark Steven Kirk, R-Ill., said the move
was akin to supporting a government that "only has a few Nazis in it."
"We don’t want to … bind our hands in the event that such a
(Palestinian unity) agreement is reached, and the government that they
are part of agrees to our principles," U.S. Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton reportedly replied.
So as not to confuse, Hamas is the
Muslim Brotherhood organization who’s sole purpose is the destruction of
Israel -- anyone who thinks otherwise should read Hamas in their own
words via the
Hamas Covenant which lays out their purpose, goals, and
ideology.
In the midst of what is being called the worst economic
crisis since the Great Depression, where our government has created the
largest deficit in history, giving a billion to anyone is insane. But
giving a billion dollars to a self-proclaimed Islamic jihadist group
that has stated the United States as its enemy is beyond insanity, and
it needs to stop.
Obama Promises Jerusalem To Arabs
Obama and his administration
told Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas during a meeting last
week the U.S. foresees the creation of a Palestinian state with
Jerusalem as its capital, according to a top PA official.
"The American administration was very friendly to the
position of the PA," said Nimer Hamad, Abbas' senior political adviser.
"Abu Mazen (Abbas) heard from Obama and his administration in a
very categorical way that a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its
capital is in the American national and security interest," Hamad said.
Another PA official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Obama informed Abbas he would not let Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu "get in the way" of normalizing U.S. relations with the Arab
and greater Muslim world.
"We were told from this new
administration they will not allow a Netanyahu government to hurt their
efforts of rehabilitating U.S. relations with the Arab and Islamic
world, which is a high priority of Obama," the official said, speaking
during a visit to Cairo.
In June 2009,
Obama will
offer a "personal commitment" to bridge US differences
with Muslims in his long-awaited speech to the Islamic world next week
in Egypt, aides said.
But White House advisors said Friday that
Obama would not shy away from addressing "tough issues" in the speech on
Thursday at the University of Cairo which will be co-hosted by Al-Azhar
University, an ancient center of Islam and learning.
"The speech
will outline his personal commitment to engagement, based upon mutual
interests and mutual respect," White House spokesman Robert Gibbels said.
"He will discuss how the United States and Muslim communities
around the world can bridge some of the differences that have divided
them.
"He will review particular issues of concern, such as
violent extremism and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and he will
discuss new areas for partnership going forward that serve the mutual
interests of our people."
"...an ancient center of Islam and learning" -- now there's a phrase
that contradicts itself.
Muslims Seek Changes From Obama
Respect for
Islam, a prescription for Palestinian statehood and assurances of a
speedy U.S. pullout from Iraq -- that's what Muslims from Morocco to
Malaysia say they
want to hear from Barack Obama this week
when he addresses them from this Arab capital.
His speech
Thursday from Cairo University will try to soften the fury toward the
United States among so many of the world's 1.5 billion Muslims.
Obama's offer of a new beginning is seen as an attempt to stem the
growing influence of extremists -- particularly Iran, with its regional
and nuclear ambitions -- and to bolster moderate Muslim allies.
It
comes just days ahead of crucial elections in Lebanon and Iran -- where
the appeal of militancy will be put to the test -- and amid worsening
violence in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The American leader's
soaring oratory and Muslim roots have kindled hope among Muslims.
There is doubt the U.S. president can change entrenched foreign
policy, particularly what is perceived in the Muslim world as
Washington's pro-Israeli bias. What Muslims see as America's repeated
failure to hold Israel to its international obligations is a sore point.
A construction freeze in Israeli West Bank settlements -- Obama wants it,
Israel rejects it -- is shaping up as a major test.
Obama's
initial actions have earned him good will. He's reached out to Muslims
in an interview with an Arab satellite TV station, in video message to
Iranians on the Persian new year and in a speech to the Turkish
parliament. He ordered Guantanamo prison closed within a year and said
the U.S. would not engage in torture, reversing two Bush policies seen
here as having targeted Muslims.
Obama gets some credit up front
for just being himself. Many were inspired by his victory, emotionally
connecting to his African and Muslim roots and his childhood in
Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation.
"It's so
exciting to have a black man run the entire world," said Awni Shatarat,
45, a clothing store owner in the Palestinian refugee camp of Baqaa in
Jordan.
Obama Supports Saudi Immunity
On June 1, 2009, the Obama administration petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to protect Saudi Arabia and four of
its princes from being held accountable for their alleged role in the
September 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the United States that killed
almost 3,000 Americans.
Through its solicitor general, Elena
Kagan, the Obama administration has asked that the Saudis be held immune
under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, or FSIA, even though there
is ample U.S. evidence of complicity by the Saudi government and the
named princes in support of al-Qaida's terrorist attack.
While
the FSIA generally protects a sovereign state, there are exceptions
under which its provisions can be invoked. Such interpretations are left
largely to the courts to determine.
Families of the 9/11
victims, however, have expressed outrage over the Obama administration's
filing. They regard the action as undermining the continuing fight on
terror.
In its recent filing of an "amicus curiae" brief with the
U.S. Supreme Court in "Federal Insurance Co. vs. Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia," the Obama administration asked the court to deny a petition for
a "writ of certiorari" or higher court hearing by the families of the
victims of 9/11 in their effort to sue Saudi Arabia and its princes.
The Attorney
General released the following statement relating to Obama’s historic
speech today in Cairo, Egypt:
"The President's pledge for a new
beginning between the United States and the Muslim community takes root
here in the Justice Department where we are committed to using criminal
and civil rights laws to protect Muslim Americans. A top priority of
this Justice Department is a return to robust civil rights enforcement
and outreach in defending religious freedoms and other fundamental
rights of all of our fellow citizens in the workplace, in the housing
market, in our schools and in the voting booth.
"There are those
who will continue to want to divide by fear -- to pit our national
security against our civil liberties -- but that is a false choice. We
have a solemn responsibility to protect our people while we also protect
our principles."
"A top priority of this Justice Department is a
return to robust civil rights enforcement" -- as if civil rights were
trampled from 2001 to 2009.
And if you wish he would issue a
statement on protecting Americans from the Islamic jihad, you're just
continuing "to want to divide by fear."
Obama Flunks American History 101
Speaking at the University of
Cairo, Obama said that Americans are indebted
to Islam for the great contributions Muslims have made to the history
and development of the United States.
"I know that Islam has
always been a part of America’s story," Obama told the throng of
unenlightened Muslims. "The first nation to recognize my country was
Morocco... and since our founding, American Muslims have enriched the
United States."
Obama went on to say: "They [Muslims] have
fought in our wars. They have served in our government. They have stood
for civil rights. They have started businesses. They have taught at our
universities. They’ve excelled in our sports arenas. They’ve won Nobel
Prizes, built our tallest building and lit the Olympic torch. And when
the first Muslim American was recently elected to Congress, he took the
oath to defend our Constitution using the same holy Koran that one of
our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson, kept in his personal library."
No one at the Egyptian University or the international media took
issue with Obama’s bizarre interpretation of American history,
let alone his confusion of the Nation of Islam (the religion of Muhammad
Ali and Malcolm X) that bears scant similarity to orthodox Islam. The
Nation of Islam teach that Allah in the flesh was a bona fide nutcase
named Wallace Fard and that Eli Muhammad, a conman with a tested IQ of
70 and not the Prophet Muhammad, was the true last prophet of Allah.
Let’s set the record straight once and for all.
Sorry, Barack
Hussein, but there were no Muslims among the passengers on the Mayflower
or the settlers at Jamestown. Muslims were conspicuously absent from the
ranks of George Washington’s Army of the Revolution and played no role
in the creation of the American republic -- save for the fact that the
new country’s first declaration of war was against the forces of Islam
in the form of the Barbary pirates.
With Obama's
unbelievably ballyhooed June address in Cairo Thursday to what he calls "the
Muslim world" (hereafter known as "the Speech"), there is mounting
evidence that Obama not only identifies with Muslims, but
actually
may still be one himself. Consider the following indicators:
• Obama referred four times in his speech to "the Holy
Koran." Non-Muslims -- even pandering ones -- generally don't use that
Islamic formulation.
• Obama established his firsthand
knowledge of Islam (albeit without mentioning his reported upbringing in
the faith) with the statement, "I have known Islam on three continents
before coming to the region where it was first revealed." Again,
"revealed" is a depiction Muslims use to reflect their conviction that
the Koran is the word of God, as dictated to Muhammad.
• Then
Obama made a statement no believing Christian -- certainly not
one versed, as he professes to be, in the ways of Islam -- would ever
make. In the context of what he euphemistically called the "situation
between Israelis, Palestinians and Arabs," Obama said he looked forward
to the day ". . . when Jerusalem is a secure and lasting home for Jews
and Christians and Muslims, and a place for all of the children of
Abraham to mingle peacefully together as in the story of Isra, when
Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them) joined in prayer."
Now, the term "peace be upon them" is invoked by Muslims as a way of
blessing deceased holy men. According to Islam, that is what all three
were -- dead prophets. Of course, for Christians, Jesus is the living
and immortal Son of God.
In the final analysis, it may be beside
the point whether Obama actually is a Muslim. In the Speech and
elsewhere, he has aligned himself with adherents to what authoritative
Islam calls
Shariah -- notably, the dangerous global movement known as
the
Muslim Brotherhood -- to a degree that makes Mr. Clinton's fabled
affinity for blacks pale by comparison.
For example, Obama
has -- from literally his inaugural address onward -- inflated the
numbers and, in that way and others, exaggerated the contemporary and
historical importance of Muslim-Americans in the United States. In the
Speech, he used the Brotherhood's estimates of "nearly 7 million
Muslims" in this country, at least twice the estimates from other, more
reputable sources. (Who knows? By the time Obama's friends in the
radical Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN)
perpetrate their trademark books-cooking as deputy 2010 census takers,
the official count may well claim considerably more than 7 million
Muslims are living here.)
Even more troubling were the
commitments the president made in Cairo to promote Islam in America. For
instance, he declared: "I consider it part of my responsibility as
president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of
Islam wherever they appear." He vowed to ensure that women can cover
their heads, including, presumably, when having their photographs taken
for passports, driver's licenses or other identification purposes. He
also pledged to enable Muslims to engage in zakat, their faith's
requirement for tithing, even though four of the eight types of charity
called for by Shariah can be associated with terrorism. Not
surprisingly, a number of Islamic "charities" in this country have been
convicted of providing material support for terrorism.
Particularly worrying is the realignment Obama has announced in U.S.
policy toward Israel. While he pays lip service to the "unbreakable"
bond between America and the Jewish state, the president has
unmistakably signaled that he intends to compel the Israelis to make
territorial and other strategic concessions to Palestinians to achieve
the hallowed two-state solution. In doing so, he ignores the
inconvenient fact that both the Brotherhood's Hamas and Abu Mazen's
Fatah remain determined to achieve a one-state solution, whereby the
Jews will be driven "into the sea."
Whether Obama actually is a
Muslim or simply plays one in the presidency may, in the end, be
irrelevant. What is alarming is that in aligning himself and his
policies with those of Shariah-adherents such as the Muslim Brotherhood,
Obama will greatly intensify the already enormous pressure on
peaceful, tolerant American Muslims to submit to such forces -- and
heighten expectations, here and abroad, that the rest of us will do so
as well.
"As the
Holy [sic!] Koran tells us, Be conscious of God and speak always the
truth," Obama told his audience at the beginning of his much
heralded speech in Cairo last week.
It was a remarkable
performance: not a single significant statement he made on the nature of
Islam, or on America’s relationship with the Muslim world, or on the
terrorist threat, complied with the quoted command of the prophet of
Islam.
Obama’s two immediate predecessors have done a lot of
respectful kowtowing, of course. Bill Clinton declared before the United
Nations in September 1998, "There is no inherent clash between Islam and
America." Three years and several thousand American lives later,
President Bush said, "there are millions of good Americans who practice
the Muslim faith who love their country as much as I love the country." Four years after 9-11 he continued insisting "the evil" unleashed on
that day "is very different from the religion of Islam," and its
proponents "distort the idea of jihad into a call for terrorist murder
against Christians and Jews and Hindus."
Obama brings a new
quality to the continuum, however. He is developing the theme in Islam’s
heartland. He is doing it in a manner likely to raise geopolitical
expectations that cannot be fulfilled, and certain to cement even
further the Muslim myth of blameless victimhood. It is the greatest
favor any recruiter for the cause of global jihad could hope for.
Is Obama deluded or mendacious? In view of his middle name and
family history, the question is more legitimate than it would have been
with Clinton or Bush.
With the media’s
rhapsodic paeans to President Obama’s "historic" Cairo speech now
receding into the background, this may be an opportune moment to take a
sober look at America’s policies vis-à-vis the Muslim world and, no less
important, at where Islam itself may be heading.
It is now clear
that Obama is either unable or unwilling to come to terms with
the nature of the radical Islamic threat to America and the West. To
him, the problem is a few violent extremists, a "small but potent
minority of Muslims," which leaves one wondering how a small minority
got to be quite so potent. In any case, the West is dealing not with a
few militants, or even with terrorism as such, but with a murderous,
totalitarian doctrine couched in Islamic terms that has already become
the dominant idiom in much of the Muslim world and its diaspora
communities. Whether it is called "radical Islam," "Islamism," "Salafism,"
or "Islamofascism," it aims at nothing short of the conquest of the
world for Islam, by violent means if need be. And not just any kind of
Islam, but the most reactionary and intolerant interpretation of the
Muslim faith.
It is an ideology that elevates violent jihad as a
religious obligation for all Muslims, openly discriminates against
non-Muslims and women, banishes democracy and secularism, and ordains
the murder of apostates and homosexuals. This doctrine is preached today
in tens of thousands of Salafi, Wahhabi, and Deobandi mosques and
madrassas, and promoted by countless Islamist organizations, from the
Muslim Brotherhood networks in America to the Taliban and its fellow
jihadists in Pakistan. Extremism and terrorism are the results of this
malignant phenomenon. The Taliban and al-Qaeda did not bring Pakistan to
the edge of the precipice on their own; rather, 30 years of
state-sponsored Islamization of Pakistani society made Islamism the
threat it is.
While President Bush was also remiss in explaining
to Americans that we’re in a deadly conflict with a violent Islamist
doctrine that has deep and spreading roots among a quarter of the human
population -- rather than with terrorism, which is simply its symptom --
Obama has seemingly chosen to act as an apologist for this ideology. There is no other credible reason for a man with an army of experts,
researchers, and fact-checkers at his disposal to utter so many
half-truths and outright falsehoods about what Islam is and what it is
not.
America Talks blog
opines that with the dropping of the phrase "war on terror" and his
recent diatribe in Cairo, Barack Hussein Obama has effectively waved the
white flag at the radical faction of Islam that would seek to destroy
us.
Hussein Obama, now recognizing his Muslim roots, has reached
out with open arms to the very people who on September 11, 2001 murdered
nearly 3000 of our fellow citizens in one of the most horrific attacks
ever perpetrated on a nation.
Why is he doing this?
For
one of two reasons. Some would have us believe that by Hussein
Obama embracing Islam, the violence and jihad will end and we will reach
some sort of common ground on which to forge a new relationship.
Others say that Hussein Obama is in the camp of the jihadists, winking
and nodding at thugs like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whose re-election in Iran
was fixed by the government because they know that the United States has
reversed over 30 years of policy regarding their nuclear ambitions.
Evidence seems to indicate the latter view.
Through his
cozying up to the Islamic world, Hussein Obama has also thrown Israel
under the bus, leaving them under a severe threat of annihilation by
enemies such as Iran and the Palestinians hell bent on their
destruction.
One can only conclude that Hussein Obama is a
radical Islamic sympathizer, now proudly admitting that he is one of
them, prostrating our country before them, and surrendering the United
States to their agenda of conversion or obliteration.
Allah must
be smiling.
Obama Speech Inspires Sharing
On Tuesday,
June 30, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will hold a
news conference in Washington, D.C., to announce the launch of a major
campaign to distribute
free copies of the Quran, Islam's revealed text,
to 100,000 local, state and national leaders.
CAIR's "Share the
Quran" educational campaign was prompted by Obama's recent address to
Muslims worldwide in which he quoted from that holy text.
In the
multi-year initiative, American Muslims will sponsor Qurans for
distribution to governors, state attorneys general, educators, law
enforcement officials, state and national legislators, local elected and
public officials, media professionals, and other local or national
leaders who shape public opinion or determine policy.
"Through
this ground-breaking outreach initiative, we hope not only to educate
policy-makers and opinion leaders about Islam, but also to provide an
opportunity for American Muslims to reach out to their fellow citizens
of other faiths," said CAIR Board Chairman State Sen. Larry Shaw (NC).
The "Share the Quran" initiative is an outgrowth of CAIR's
successful "Explore the Quran" campaign and is part of the celebration
of the Washington-based council's 15th anniversary. CAIR was founded in
June of 1994.
Ahhhhhhhhhh!
Islamists! Sharing!
Obama Increases Aid To Muslim States
IsraelNationalNews.com
reports that in the latest in a recent series of
increased American assistance efforts for Arab and Muslim states, Barack
Obama has allocated an additional $150 million to the Hashemite Kingdom
of Jordan. The regimes leading Egypt, the Palestinian Authority, the
United Arab Emirates and even Saudi Arabia have all benefited from
recent American policy shifts.
Jordan's Minister of Planning and
International Cooperation, Suhair Al-Ali, was quoted by The Jordan Times
as explaining that the kingdom receives $363 million annually from the
United States in economic assistance. The allocations signed into law by
Obama this week mean that Jordan will receive a total of $513 million
from the U.S. in 2009. The minister told the Jordanian newspaper that
the additional American aid was the result of ongoing efforts by
Jordan's King Abdullah II, as well as Obama's "recognition of the
important role Jordan plays in the region."
Egypt received $310
million in supplemental appropriations from the U.S. House of
Representatives, currently controlled by Obama's Democratic party. At
the same time, 2009 State Department funding for the promotion of
democratic initiatives in Egypt was cut from $50 million to $20 million. In addition, the U.S. has agreed not to give any of the pro-democracy
funds to organizations that are not approved by the Mubarak regime. In
the year 2007, Egypt received a total of $2.4 billion.
On
another front, in March of this year, it was reported that the Obama
administration planned to dramatically increase funding to the
Palestinian Authority for security training, which is conducted by
Jordanian police under the supervision of U.S. General Keith Dayton. The
U.S. allocated $75 million for the PA police training in 2008, but
reports indicated that the Obama administration was planning to pump up
to $130 million into the program in 2009. In any event, the U.S. has
already pledged $600 million in funds to the Palestinian Authority, with
another $300 million for humanitarian aid to the Hamas regime in Gaza.
Elsewhere in the region, the U.S. is set to help the United Arab
Emirates become the first Arab nation with a developed nuclear power
infrastructure. Obama gave his official support and
authorization for the $41 billion project, allowing private U.S.
companies to compete for construction contracts.
In Pakistan,
Obama proposed $2.8 billion in aid for that nation's
military, alongside civilian aid of $1.5 billion a year for the next
five years. The military aid is ostensibly to allow the Pakistanis to
more effectively fight jihadist and al-Qaeda terrorism emanating from
the Swat Valley and along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
The
Obama administration's assistance to Arab and Muslim states extends
beyond the monetary, however.
According to an article in Joseph
Farah's G2 Bulletin earlier this month, the American government has
petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to preserve sovereign immunity for the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and four Saudi princes in connection with a
civil case seeking compensation for victims of the massive September 11,
2001, al-Qaeda terrorist attacks on the American homeland. The claimants
in the case say that there is sufficient evidence of Saudi involvement
in 9/11 for the court to lift the normally applicable immunity.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister, Prince Saud al-Faisal, told
Newsweek magazine this month that the United States should cut off all
aid to Israel if the Jewish State does not accept the 2002
Saudi-sponsored Arab-Israeli terms of negotiation.
Obama's Jihad
Remember, Obama could not find the time in his schedule for the
National Day of Prayer. On May 6, 2009, the Washington Times
reported that Obama was distancing himself from the National Day of
Prayer by
nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large
Catholic prayer breakfast the next morning. All Obama did for the
National Day of Prayer, was to sign a proclamation honoring the day,
which originated in 1952 when Congress set aside the first Thursday in
May for the observance.
For the past eight years, President
George W. Bush invited selected Christian and Jewish leaders to the
White House East Room, where he typically would give a short speech and
several leaders offered prayers.
Obama White House press
secretary Robert
Gibbels said that Obama is simply reverting back to pre-Bush
administration practice.
But, Ramadam? Ahhhhh, that's
different. For Ramadam, that begins August 22nd in most of the Islamic
world, Obama has extended his best wishes to Muslims on the White House
blog and
produced a
video in which he says, "On behalf of the American people --
including Muslim communities in all fifty states -- I want to extend
best wishes to Muslims in America and around the world. Ramadan
Kareem," and closes with a "god's peace be upon you" for his Muslim
viewers.
Obama Gives Ramadan Message (05:04)
In Cairo, Egyptian fruit sellers have
named their best dates of the year after Barack Obama in a tribute
to the American leader for his outreach to the Muslim world. Dates
are a traditional food for Ramadan since Mohammed is said to have used
them to break the month’s sunrise-to-sunset fast each evening.
In Washington, Obama continued his outreach to Muslims by reminding us
that the praying, fasting, and other centuries-old rituals "remind us of
the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing
justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings,’" he
said.
"Islam’s role in
advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human
beings" -- A statement that is complete bullShiite and propaganda.
On June 4th, U.S. Attorney General
Eric Holder released the following
statement relating to Obama’s speech in Cairo, Egypt:
"The
President's pledge for a new beginning between the United States and the
Muslim community takes root here in the Justice Department where we are
committed to using criminal and civil rights laws to protect Muslim
Americans. A top priority of this Justice Department is a return
to robust civil rights enforcement and outreach in defending religious
freedoms and other fundamental rights of all of our fellow citizens in
the workplace, in the housing market, in our schools and in the voting
booth.
And earlier this month, Obama’s State Department put out a
statement announcing:
"[The] Bureau of International
Information Programs (IIP) has assembled a range of innovative and
traditional tools to support Posts’ outreach activities during the
Islamic holy month of Ramadan … America.gov will publish a
'Multicultural Ramadan' feature." The intent is to address "the
concept of an Islam in America 'brand'."
Actually, www.America.gov has a
whole page
of articles that explores the richness of Muslim traditions.
And what the hell is an "Islam in America"
brand? Why is the United States government spending taxpayers’ money to advertise and promote a
religiously inspired ideology whose core believers want to impose their
faith on the rest of us?
Where is the ACLU? This
hypocritical far-left organization has no problem attacking every
conceivable symbol of our Judeo-Christian culture that appears in the
public square. But its First Amendment concerns about "separation
of church and state" disappear when it comes to "separation of mosque
and state."
The same Obama administration that now promotes the
Islamic "brand" in America and a multicultural celebration of Ramadan,
saw fit, just four months ago, to ask Georgetown University, a Catholic
institution, to cover over the name of Jesus inscribed on a pediment
behind the podium from which Obama was slated to deliver an address.
We are an open, pluralistic society that honors and protects the
right of all Americans to practice the religion of their choice, or to
practice no religion at all. But we are confronting an ideology
that forbids its believers to co-exist on equal terms with those whom
they regard as infidels. Now we are being encouraged by Obama to surrender
our own distinct identity and beliefs, in response to the siren call of
multiculturalism.
It is time to stop obscuring the
Judeo-Christian and Enlightenment roots that have allowed us to advance
far beyond the fundamentalist-dominated Muslim world, just to prove how
"understanding" we are of the special sensibilities of our Muslim
minority population. If we fail to embrace our heritage, the
sickness that already has taken root in our society will metastasize
into something far deadlier than anything universal health care could
possibly treat.
In the last
several years dozens of Islamic apologists and teachers have told us
that Jihad does not necessarily mean anything about violence, but
that jihad is anything that advances Islam. If Islamic scholars
want us to accept that
definition of jihad, it is clear that Obama, based on his own words and
actions, is conducting a jihad against America.
Obama Plan: Temple Mount Under Arab-Muslim Sovereignty
The Middle East peace plan that Barack Obama will unveil soon
involves the creation of a Palestinian Authority state by 2011 and the
transfer of Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem [presumably including the
Temple Mount – ed.] to Arab-Muslim sovereignty, Saudi newspaper Al-Ukaz
has learned.
According to the report published Sunday in Al-Ukaz,
the Obama plan also includes the following elements:
• Some
parts of eastern Jerusalem [presumably Neveh Yaakov, Pisgat Ze'ev and
the like - ed.] would be transferred to Israeli control. •
There would be an international presence in the Jordan Valley and other
parts of Judea and Samaria. • The Palestinian Authority terror
organizations would be disbanded and turn into political parties. •
The large settlement blocs in Judea and Samaria would not be dismantled.
• The fate of smaller Jewish settlement areas would be decided
in a three-month-long negotiation period.
A reporter for the
Saudi newspaper received the information from Hassan Harisha, the Second
Deputy Speaker of the Palestinian Authority (PA) Parliament.
Harisha told him that the U.S. has handed over a draft of the peace
proposal to the PA and other Arabs for their perusal.
As Obama proceeds with his intention to prosecute American CIA
interrogators, Fox News
reports that he has released another prisoner from the Guantanamo
Bay detention camp to his home in Afghanistan -- this one attacked U.S.
troops in Afghanistan.
Mohammed Jawad had been accused of
throwing a grenade in 2002 that injured two U.S. soldiers and their
interpreter in Kabul. He has already returned to his family,
according to his lawyer.
Kirk Lippold, the former USS Cole
commander and fellow at Military Families United, criticized the
decision in a statement Monday, calling it part of a "sadly familiar
pattern."
"No coherent policy in the war on terror. No
comprehensive plan in place to deal with the future of Guantanamo Bay
detainees. No accountability for terrorists who harm our brave
fighting forces," he said.
In June, Obama freed a bunch of the brothers -- three detainees were
sent to Saudi Arabia, one went home to Chad and another to Iraq.
Four Chinese Muslim Uighurs held at Guantanamo were resettled in June in
Bermuda.
A Good Time To Be A Jihadist
Terrorists and their supporters are having a good run. Last
week, Scotland released Abdel Basset Ali Al-Megrahi, who murdered 270
people, including 189 Americans 11 Scots, by placing a bomb on Pan Am
flight 103 in December 1988. Megrahi, who was released (at least
ostensibly) for reasons of "compassion," received the welcome of a
returning hero when he arrived in Libya.
Violent extremists
throughout the world will also be encouraged by the decision of Yale
University Press not to publish the book Cartoons that Shook the World
unless the book does not include the cartoons themselves. The
Washington Post's editorial board recognized the meaning of this event
when they observed that Yale is enabling violent extremists to set the
terms of permitted speech.
But the most important victory for
terrorists and their supporters consists of the Obama administration's
moves to deprive our intelligence agencies of key means through which to
obtain information from captured terrorists. This ongoing process
receives another boost today with the release of the CIA Inspector
General's report that terrorist detainees were abused in CIA custody.
Barack Obama on Tuesday praised American Muslims for enriching the
nation's culture at a dinner to celebrate the Islamic holy month of
Ramadan.
"The contribution of Muslims to the United States are
too long to catalog because Muslims are so interwoven into the fabric of
our communities and our country," Obama said at the iftar, the dinner
that breaks the holiday's daily fast.
Obama
highlighted the contributions made by Muslims to American culture
and the "dynamism and diversity" of the Islamic community.
"Islam, as we know, is part of America," Obama said at a White House
dinner celebrating the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. "Together we have
a responsibility to foster engagement grounded in mutual interest and
mutual respect."
"That’s one of my fundamental commitments as
president both at home and abroad," Obama said. "That is central
to the new beginning that I’ve sought between the United States and
Muslims around the world and that is a commitment that we can renew once
again during this holy season."
Obama joined Cabinet
secretaries, members of the diplomatic corps and lawmakers to pay
tribute to what he called "a great religion and its commitment to
justice and progress."
Attendees included Congress' two Muslim
members -- Reps. Keith Ellison and Andre Carson as well as ambassadors
from Islamic nations and Israel's ambassador to the United States,
Michael Oren.
"a great religion and its
commitment to justice and progress"
It’s Only Human Rights If It’s Anti-US
Dr. Richard Benkin
says
you would never know it from the mainstream media, but many Americans
never bought the ridiculous argument that Barack Obama was some sort of
human rights activist. In fact, for some of us, he was just the
opposite. As reported in an earlier Canada Free Press
article
("Obama Sides with Islamists in Choudhury Case"), Obama was the only
Washingtonian asked who did not take any action to support Muslim
Zionist Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury.
In 2003, Shoaib was
arrested by Bangladeshi officials after he exposed the rise of radical
Islam in his country, urged relations with Israel, and advocated genuine
interfaith understanding based on religious equality. For 17
months, I fought to end this Islamist-engineered atrocity until with the
help of Congressman Mark Kirk (R-IL), we succeeded. Both before
and after we did -- for his persecution has not stopped and he still
faces capital charges for his "crime" -- I approached approximately 15
percent of the House and a handful of Senators. Every one of them
-- Republican and Democrat, liberal and conservative -- responded with
support; every one of them except my own junior Senator, Barack Hussein
Obama.
I met with his staff in Washington in April 2005, the same
week that Kirk and I went well after "working hours" engaged in the very
long and difficult meeting with the Bangladeshi ambassador that secured
Shoaib’s release. I brought them extensive documentation of the
injustice and other evidence of Shoaib’s activities. Most
significantly, I told them how Shoaib was one of those rare, courageous
and truly moderate Muslims -- not like the anti-American Islamist
supporters Obama places in that category. He opposes radical
Islamists publicly and unequivocally while refusing to let the Islamists
intimidate him into leaving his home inside the Muslim world. I
told them how he proudly proclaims himself pro-Israel and pro-US; but
Obama’s staff never called back and ignored all subsequent contacts.
I spoke with Obama personally 13 months later at a meeting he and
Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) hosted. Durbin called the matter "an
important human rights case," remained on top of it, and protested
formally to the Bangladeshis. At his best moments, Obama looked
quizzical and confused and never even sent out a form letter. I
spoke with Obama one other time about Shoaib’s case, less than six
months later. It was a chance meeting, and I reminded him of our
last encounter. I updated him on the case and suggested several
ways in which he could support the besieged journalist. He
hesitated a moment then held out his hand and said in a
used-car-salesman kind of way, "Well, we’re sure happy for all the work
you are doing." I really had to restrain myself and just mumbled
something about it not being about me, but I do not think he got that;
and, not surprisingly, I never heard back despite the reams of evidence
I sent at his request.
It is bad enough that Obama easily turns
the other way when another human being is being tortured for his
beliefs; but far more sinister is Obama’s rejection of basic American
values and their defense. As I noted above, support for Shoaib
Choudhury crossed party and ideological lines. The day that Durbin
sent his letter of protest, then-Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) did the
same. Everyone recognized the common American value of supporting
those who stand against injustice; everyone, except Barack Obama.
If we examine his human rights record since taking office, Obama’s
behavior has not changed.
While he takes his wife on a date to
Paris, human rights atrocities occur daily across our planet.
Islamists or their fellow travelers perpetrate the greatest number.
Ethnic cleansing of non-Muslims in Bangladesh -- Hindus, Christians,
Buddhists, and others -- is proceeding without a break. Even as
this article is being written, about 15,000,000 Bangladeshis are facing
state-supported oppression. Currently, Obama’s friends in
Islamabad are completing the destruction of Pakistan’s Hindus.
Christian communities throughout the Middle East -- in Iraq, Lebanon,
Egypt, and the territories controlled by the Palestinian Authority --
are being systematically destroyed. Palestinian and other Arab
authorities continue to teach their children the vilest sort of
anti-Semitism. And an openly Islamist Turkish government has
implemented policies that prevent religious minorities from owning land,
training clergy, or offering religious education above high school; this
in addition to tolerating anti-minority violence and bigotry.
Leftists are guilty as well. There are massive human rights
violations in Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela, targeting both political
opponents and the country’s Jewish community. Neither has Cuba nor
China moved to give their peoples freedom.
Yet, the perpetrators
of these atrocities are Obama’s friends, and so he allows these human
rights violations to proceed without so much as a whimper of protest.
Yet, he consistently talks about two issues in human rights terms,
Guantanamo and the Palestinians, and points an accusing finger at the
United States and Israel.
If we examine his silence on the one
hand and his aggressive stance on the other, a very clear pattern
emerges. It seems that human rights issues exist for Obama only if
the supposed victim is anti-American; conversely, those violations
should be "understood" if the perpetrator is anti-American. His
stance is ideological not moral; and certainly not based on the values
that are the bedrock of American society. Obama’s actions in the
Choudhury case are consistent with that. Shoaib Choudhury publicly
supports the United States and Israel in a part of the world where --
according to Obama’s Cairo speech and other pronouncements -- we should
be ashamed of what the US and Israel have done and apologize for it.
Obama Offers Millions To Muslims
Breitbart is
reporting that the White House Friday highlighted a new
multi-million-dollar technology fund for Muslim nations, following a
pledge he made in his landmark speech to the Islamic world.
The
White House said the US Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC)
had issued a call for proposals for the fund, which will provide
financing of between 25 and 150 million dollars for selected projects
and funds.
The
Global Technology and Innovation Fund will "catalyze and facilitate
private sector investments" throughout Asia, the Middle East and Africa,
the White House said in a statement.
Eligible projects would
advance economic opportunity and create jobs in areas like technology,
education, telecoms, media, business services and clean technology, the
White House said.
OPIC said sample projects could help foster
the development of new computer technology or telecommunications
businesses, or widen access to broadband Internet services.
Proposals must be submitted by the end of November, and managers of
funds that make a final short list will make presentations in Washington
in January.
Final selections will be announced next June.
In his speech to the Muslim world in Cairo last June, Obama argued
that "education and innovation will be the currency of the 21st century"
and that under-investment was rife in many Muslim nations.
As
well as the fund, Obama also said he will host a summit on
entrepreneurship this year to deepen ties between business leaders in
the United States and Muslim communities around the world.
In
his speech on June 4, Obama vowed to forge a "new beginning" for Islam
and America, promising to purge years of "suspicion and discord."
In what may be one of the defining moments of his presidency, Obama
laid out a new blueprint for US Middle East policy, pledged to end
mistrust, forge a state for Palestinians and defuse a nuclear showdown
with Iran.
So what if
under-investment is rife in many Muslim nations -- why should that be a
problem for the American taxpayer?
Bam's Muslim-World Muddle
Col. Ralph Peters
says half a year ago in Cairo, Obama addressed the Muslim world.
Global leftists lauded the speech as heralding instant change in the
Middle East.
The Obama-adoring pundits were right. Change
came. But it's all bad.
Instead of listening to the
extravagant claims of our leftward-plunging media about how profoundly
that speech affected Muslims, let's look at what's actually happened
since Obama praised Islam and trashed America:
Iran:
No nukes? Strategic cooperation? Rule-of-law democracy?
Greater freedom for the Iranian people? Naw. Mahmoud Ahmedinejad's
regime plays Obama like a card sharp working a hick who just showed up
with his life savings in his pocket. Iran's fanatical rulers make
a promise, break a promise, hint at another promise . . . all as their
nuclear-weapons program rolls along. Bewildered, the White House
warns that if those Iranians aren't careful, there just might be
sanctions, sometime in the future, maybe, if China, Russia and other
spoilers agree . . . Meanwhile, Obama still won't stand up for the
millions of Iranians struggling for freedom.
Iraq:
Al Qaeda suffered a catastrophic defeat and nearly disappeared from the
Iraqi landscape. Now it's resurgent -- encouraged by Obama's
determination to look away. Terror bombings are up. But US
troop levels are going down. That's all that matters to the
blinkered White House. Al Qaeda senses a comeback opportunity.
Obama's running away as fast as he can.
Afghanistan:
Encouraged by Obama's evident weakness, the Taliban redoubled its
efforts against the hated government of Hamid Karzai. Obama
dithers, Afghan leaders steal, our troops die protecting the thieves --
and the Taliban advances with fresh recruits. Our ambassador in
Kabul, retired Gen. Karl Eikenberry, took a courageous stand to warn
that sending more troops would only encourage Karzai's cabal to continue
to shirk responsibility. But don't expect similar courage from
this White House, which fears tough decisions the way medieval peasants
feared the Black Death.
Pakistan: For all
the fuss about how well-received Obama's Cairo confession was among
Muslims, anti-Americanism has increased in this conflict-torn state of
180 million. We pour in billions of dollars. The Pakistani
government, media and citizenry pour out anti-American rhetoric -- even
blaming us for Taliban terror bombings. And Obama's a deer in the
headlights of history again.
Turkey:
Advertised as a marvelous Muslim democracy and NATO member, Turkey has
taken another lurch toward Islamic fundamentalism, embracing radical
Arab states while slashing cooperation with Israel. Big win there,
Mr. Obama.
Yemen: The Great Muslim Civil
War between Sunni and Shia has a new theater, with Saudi Arabia and Iran
fighting a proxy campaign in the poorer-than-dirt-poor Yemeni
backcountry. A Shia tribal struggle for basic rights found a
cynical backer in Tehran; the Sunni-hardline Yemeni government unleashed
fundamentalist jihadis -- terror, butchery and rape -- against its Shia
minority.
Saudi Arabia: Nervous about its
own oppressed Shia population, Saudi Arabia attacked Yemeni territory
(with US-made weapons) to support its fellow Sunni fundamentalists.
The impoverished Shia suffer grimly as pawns between greater powers.
But, Obama, who bowed to a Saudi king, won't ask the Saudis to show
restraint.
IsPal: By betraying Israel and
glorifying the Palestinian cause in Cairo, Obama encouraged unrealistic
expectations among Palestinians and empowered Arab hardliners -- always
willing to fight to the last Palestinian. Obama's naive demand for a
total freeze on Israeli settlements created a flashpoint while
undercutting Palestinian and Israeli moderates. The situation's far more
explosive than it was when Obama took office.
Texas:
A Muslim-extremist US Army major expected Obama to end our efforts in
Iraq and Afghanistan immediately. Obama was too slow, and Maj.
Nidal Malik Hasan responded. Shouting "God is greatest!" he gunned
down 54 Americans. The Middle East is here, too.
Obama's
Cairo sermon was promptly praised as the greatest speech of our time.
Last week, we heard that, no, Obama's no-mention-of-terror remarks at
Fort Hood was his greatest speech.
Obama, it seems, just strolls
from greatness to greatness. Among world leaders, only North
Korea's Kim Jong-il commands such media adoration from his homies.
Not one establishment media outlet will weigh the obvious damage Obama's
ludicrous Cairo speech did to the Middle East and to our security.
Yesterday, from the worlds most
populous Muslim country, Obama asked Americans to "resist the temptation
to turn this tragic event into the political theater." He said he
was not opposed to hearings -- eventually -- like 2088.
Obama has
labeled Hasan's murderous rampage as a "tragic event." He will do
everything in his power to sanitize this domestic terror attack.
Obama Names Devout Muslims To Security Posts
IsraelNationalNews.com is
reporting that Barack Obama continues to "reach out to Muslims" by
appointing them to key security posts amid charges he wrongly ignored
internal Muslim terror. One recent appointee was harshly
criticized for appearing on a British-based television station whose
host is a member of a radical Muslim group.
Obama has continued
to "reach out Muslims," as he said in his keynote speech in Cairo last
June, and this past week he swore in a Muslim rights advocate to the
Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC), shortly after the Fort Hood
massacre. HSAC members are involved in expertise on national
security.
The new member is Syrian-born Kareem Shora, who was the
national executive director of the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination
(ADC), which previously has called on the United States to stop
providing Israel with weapons because of alleged "atrocities" against
Arabs. Her background for her new security post is having been a
legal counsel and advocate for Muslim civil rights.
She also has
been a frequent guest on the pro-Hamas al-Jazeera satellite network.
Shora, who has been described as a "devout Muslim, joins another
devout member of the faith, Arif Alikhan, who was appointed as Assistant
Secretary for Policy Development in the Department of Homeland Security.
His qualifications for the job were listed as having been in charge of
public safety in Los Angeles during his term of deputy mayor. One
of his actions was to remove the plan that tracked Muslims in the city
who were suspected of terrorist activities.
Americans have been
jolted by several lethal attacks and confrontations with Muslims over
the past year, including a plot to attack synagogues and down U.S.
military aircraft, the manufacture of bombs, an alleged attempt to
explode a Texas skyscraper, a plot to blow up malls in Boston, and last
month’s Fort Hood massacre by a Muslim psychiatrist who was an officer
in the army.
A desire to avoid the appearance of labeling all
Muslims as terrorists lunged out from the shadows last month after Obama
faced criticism for not taking seriously the threat of Muslim terrorism
within American society as well as in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Several months ago, Obama appointed Dalia Mogahed, a "devout
Muslim," to his Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
She quickly came under fire for appearing in a telephone interview on a
London-based Muslim television station, whose host is a member of an
extreme Islamic group.
She said was unaware of the affiliations
of her host, whose program included questions and comments favoring the
implementation of Islamic Law ("sharia").
Mogahed explained that
she did not hang up the phone in the middle of the interview because "I
assumed that very few people would watch this show but that doing
something more dramatic would bring more attention."
In the
current issue of Newsweek, columnist Jacob Weisberg, citing former
Secretary of State Colin Powell, wrote that "Obama's [Muslim] heritage
feeds a broader suspicion that he is too casual about the threat from
America's Islamist enemies."
The journalist added, "With the
massacre in Texas, Obama now confronts something that George W. Bush did
not face in the years after September 11 -- not just a major act of
domestic terrorism, but one struck from inside our security apparatus….
America does not face a threat from the perversion of faith in general.
We face a threat from the perversion of one faith in particular."
Obama Directs NASA To Focus On Muslim Outreach
Corruption Chronicles blog is reporting that a few weeks after
killing the U.S.A.’s world-famous moon-mission program, Barack Obama has
ordered the space agency that operates it to focus on reaching out to
Muslim countries.
Indeed the National Aeronautics and Space
Administration’s (NASA) mission will
shift from space exploration to Muslim diplomacy, as per the
commander-in-chief’s orders. When Obama announced earlier this
month that he would slash NASA’s $100 billion plan to return astronauts
to the moon, he didn’t mention where some of the resources would be
directed.
Obama only
said
the moon program (Constellation) is behind schedule, over budget and
overall less important than other space investments. NASA’s
attempts to pursue its moon goals were inadequate and took funding away
from other important programs, including robotic space exploration,
science and earth observations, Obama claimed.
NASA’s new secret
Muslim outreach mission was conveniently omitted though the head of
the agency finally revealed it this week. NASA Administrator
Charlie Bolden disclosed that Obama wants him to "find ways to reach out
to dominantly Muslim countries" as part of the administration’s efforts
to make the space agency a tool of international diplomacy.
Bolden referred to the new mission as an effort to reach out to
"non-traditional partners," especially countries that don’t have an
established space program. Of special focus is Indonesia because it’s
the world’s largest Muslim nation, Bolden explained. No word yet on how
much money the U.S. government will invest in the Muslim outreach.
In the meantime, a congressional
firestorm has brewed over Obama’s plans to nix the moon-mission
program, according to news reports. Dozens of federal lawmakers
have sent letters to NASA’s chief insisting that the Constellation moon
program remain intact. Senator Bill Nelson, a Florida Democrat,
blasted Obama for cutting the moon program since it will likely cause
the U.S. to fall behind countries like China and Russia in space
exploration.
Update: Astronauts flying in space are used to VIP phone calls
that don't always go as scripted, but yesterday morning's conversation
was probably one of the most awkward.
Barack Obama used his chat
with the crews of the space shuttle Endeavour and the International
Space Station to declare that he sees space exploration as "so
important."
"My commitment to NASA is unwavering," Obama said.
He emphasized "how proud we are of you ... and how committed we are to
continuing human space exploration in the future."
None of the 11
astronauts was rash enough to bring up the outrage felt by many of their
colleagues at Obama's hypocrisy.
The Wrong American Muslim Partners
Jonathan Tobin
comments on The New York Times report that the Obama administration
has come a long way from the campaign practices that had him keeping his
distance from Muslims. According to the paper’s Andrea Elliott,
"his administration has reached out to this politically isolated
constituency in a sustained and widening effort that has left even
skeptics surprised."
There is, of course, nothing wrong with a
man who once considered the notion that he might be a Muslim to be a
"smear" now having members of his administration meet with
representatives of a minority group. However, when this same
administration has banned the use of language that might give anyone the
notion that America is fighting Islamist extremists, it places stories
such as Elliott’s in a different light. The problem here is not
talking with Muslims or Arab-Americans or even attempts to rectify any
potential injustices that might have occurred in the course of pursuing
the war on Islamic terror. Rather it is the fact that the groups
that are the subject of this attention are themselves questionable.
One example of Obama’s outreach cited by the Times is the fact that
senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett spoke at the annual
convention of the Islamic Society of North America, a group that has
consistently served to rationalize anti-Western and anti-Israel
terrorism and that was an unindicted co-conspirator in the federal
prosecution of the Holy Land Foundation, whose leaders were convicted in
2008 of funneling American funds to Hamas terrorists. When the
administration grants its official seal of approval to radical groups
such as the ISNA, it helps these people drown out the voices of genuine
moderates who are far more representative of most American Muslims.
As investigative journalist Steve Emerson told the Times: "I think
dialogue is good, but it has to be with genuine moderates. These
are the wrong groups to legitimize."
Moreover, if the influence
of such people on the administration is to reinforce its desire to
literally walk away from the war on terror and to pretend that radical
Islam is not the driving force behind America’s foes through the banning
of such terms as "jihad" and "Islamic terrorism" in comments by
officials, then it must be acknowledged that the problem here goes
deeper than public relations.
Yet the blame for whitewashing
radical institutions and players isn’t all the fault of the White House.
Another driving force behind this trend is the New York Times itself.
It should be noted that Andrea Elliott, the author of today’s piece, won
the Pulitzer Prize for feature writing for her 2007 series about the
Islamic Society of Bay Ridge in Brooklyn and the lives of immigrant
Muslims. Yet nowhere in the three-part 11,000-word story did she
mention that one of the Islamic Society’s congregants went on a shooting
spree in 1994 at the Brooklyn Bridge, where he murdered a 16-year-old
Jew named Ari Halberstam after hearing an anti-Semitic sermon at this
mosque. Later it turned out that Elliott was completely unaware
(or at least claimed to be unaware) of the most famous incident
involving the institution on which her story centered.
The point
is, for those who want to ignore the truth about the danger from
homegrown Islamist radicals, the tendency is to deny any link between
Islam and terror, even if this means pretending that radicals who
support violence are really peaceful moderates. This is a bad
recipe for journalism as well as for public policy.
Obama To Host Muslim Entrepreneurship
Summit
Breitbart is
reporting that Barack Obama is making good on a promise he made to
the Muslim world last year. He will host an entrepreneurship
summit next week to deepen ties between business people in the U.S. and
Muslim countries.
More than 250 entrepreneurs, educators and
investors from 50 countries will gather in Washington Monday for the
two-day summit. The goals include finding ways to make economic
and social climates conducive to entrepreneurship, and developing the
role of businesswomen.
White House deputy national security
adviser Ben Rhodes said the administration believes that promoting
global entrepreneurship is a vital part of U.S. foreign policy.
"This is not simply an exercise in public outreach or public diplomacy,"
Rhodes said. "We believe this is the beginning of forging tangible
partnerships."
During a June speech in Cairo, Obama said he
wanted to forge a relationship between the U.S. and Muslims based on
respect and partnerships with the private sector and civil society.
Among his goals, Obama said, was to "create a new corps of business
volunteers to partner with counterparts in Muslim-majority countries."
Several administration officials, including Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton and White House economic adviser Larry Summers, will
participate in the summit. Obama is expected to address the
participants on Monday.
Rhodes said the administration will
announce specific projects during the summit that the U.S. government
will undertake to improve its business partnerships with Muslim nations.
What the hell do Barack Obama,
Hillary Clinton, and Larry Summers know about entrepreneurship --
exactly nothing. None of them have ever had anything to do with
the business sector.
This is all about the redistribution of
tax-payer money -- and you know some of it will end up in unfriendly
hands.
President Of All 57 States
The New York Times is
reporting that, on Monday, Barack Obama renewed his commitment to a
"new beginning" with the Muslim world, vowing no let-up in U.S. efforts
to promote Middle East peace, curb militant violence and boost economic
development.
Seeking to build on his outreach to Muslims in a
speech in Cairo last June, Obama used a U.S.-hosted Muslim business
conference to underscore what his administration has done so far and to
pledge further work to overcome mistrust.
While Obama has made
progress towards mending America's image in the Islamic world, he still
faces stiff challenges in his handling of the stalled
Israeli-Palestinian peace process, the nuclear standoff with Iran and
wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"I knew that this vision would not
be fulfilled in a single year, or even several. But I knew we had
to begin and that all of us have responsibilities to fulfill," Obama
told the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship.
The focus on
business development marked the Obama administration's strategy of
trying to broaden the conversation with Muslims beyond the "war on
terrorism" that dominated the Bush-era approach and alienated many.
But, speaking to an audience of 250 business people from more than
50 countries, Obama also waded into some of the hot-button issues
between Washington and the Muslim world that he acknowledged "have often
been a source of tension."
Many Muslims are especially
disappointed by Obama's failure so far to advance Israeli-Palestinian
peacemaking despite promising in his first days in office to make it a
high priority.
He assured his audience he would not abandon U.S.
diplomatic efforts, which have been stymied by a dispute with Israel
over Jewish settlement building and divisions among the Palestinians.
"Despite the inevitable difficulties, so long as I am president,
the United States will never waver in our pursuit of a two-state
solution that ensures the rights and security of both Israelis and
Palestinians," Obama pledged. But he offered no new initiative to
revive long-stalled peace talks.
Obama also asserted that the
United States was "responsibly ending" the war in Iraq and "in
Afghanistan, Pakistan and beyond, we're forging new partnerships to
isolate violent extremists, combat corruption and foster the development
that improves lives and communities."
Unbelievable!
With all the Americans out of work, and with the US economy in the
dumper, Obama is running a Muslim business conference to "to overcome
mistrust" among the supporters of the people that blew up Khobar Towers,
and attacked the USS Cole, the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and continue
to plot terror attacks against America.
These
people aren't even American Muslims -- they're all foreigners! Do
you think Obama can get them to stop trying to kill us in exchange for
this sucking up to Islam? I doubt it.
Obama's Comic Outreach To Muslims
LogansWarning blog
says most us see that Dictator Obama, is on a nonstop mission to
cater to Muslims. Now his outreach program has reached comical
proportions, literally. This comic book series raises a few
questions.
1. Will the Islamic superhero, behead
the enemy? 2. If it is a female, will wearing a burqa make
her fly? 3. Is George Bush one of the villains?
Any others?
Obama Pledges To Forge Better Ties With The
Muslim World
President Obama today
announced that Washington will set up exchange programs with
business people throughout the Muslim world in order to establish
better relations with the Muslim population across the globe.
The move is a part of the overall outreach program outlined by
the president last year. "The new beginning we seek is not
only possible, it has already begun," Obama told the Presidential
Summit on Entrepreneurship in Washington, D.C, quoted The Associated
Press.
During the summit, Obama announced that under the new
exchange programs Muslim business people will get opportunities to
invest in Silicon Valley, technology, telecommunications, health
care, education and infrastructure. The delegates from the
U.S. and Muslim countries were present during the summit.
Last June, Obama had said during his speech in Cairo that the US
would maintain better relations with the Muslims in future.
"Over the past year the United States has been reaching out and
listening," he said. Obama’s bid to forge better ties with the
Muslims include withdrawal of the US troops from Iraq, working with
Afghanistan and Pakistan to "isolate violent extremists," and
resolution of the lingering conflict between Israel and the
Palestinians.
Obama said that the US is
also making outreach in cultural sector, including a comic book
series in which American superhero Superman and Batman work with
their Muslim counterparts. "And I hear they’re making
progress," Obama said.
Obama Is Giving Islam A Pass
David A. Patten
says evangelical leader Rev. Franklin Graham issued his toughest
remarks yet Monday on the administration's role in revoking his
invitation to speak at the Pentagon's National Day of Prayer event,
charging that Obama is "giving Islam a pass" rather than speaking openly
about the "horrific" treatment women and minorities receive in many
Muslim countries.
In an exclusive telephone interview with
Newsmax.TV, Graham called revoking his invitation to the prayer service
"a slap at all evangelical Christians."
And he clearly placed the
blame on the Obama administration, telling NewsMax that the Pentagon
would never revoke such an invitation without first consulting with the
White House.
"I'm being restricted from my religious rights, and
from what I believe," Graham warned, as he complained of a growing
"secularization" in the government.
He also warned Christian of
"coming" persecution for believing in Jesus Christ.
On April 22,
the Pentagon announced that it would be "inappropriate" to have Graham
speak at the May 6 event. After 9-11, Graham said Islamic
teachings had made that faith "a very evil and wicked religion."
He says that view is based on decades of travel and ministry to the
Middle East where he has seen evidence of religious violence, including
the mistreatment of women.
Graham said the Pentagon snub matter
came up during last week's visit by Obama with Franklin and his
world-renowned father, Rev. Billy Graham, at the elder Graham’s home in
North Carolina.
"He said he didn't know anything about it until
two days prior to that meeting," Franklin Graham tells Newsmax.
"And I would certainly believe him. I don't think that he would
say something that wasn't true, so I believe what he said.
"But I
certainly believe that it was people in his administration that said
no," Graham continued. "I don't think the Pentagon would say no on
an invitation like this without consulting the White House."
"I don't think that he would say something that wasn't true..." -- Obama
tell a lie?
-- heh, heh, heh!
Obama's Invisible Islam
The Washington Times
contends that Democrats refuse to admit who the jihadist enemy is.
During questioning before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday,
a visibly nervous Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. tried valiantly
not to utter the expression "radical Islam." The twisting began
when Rep. Lamar Smith, Texas Republican, asked whether the men behind
three recent terrorist incidents -- the Fort Hood massacre, the
Christmas Day bombing attempt and the Time Square bombing attempt --
"might have been incited to take the actions that they did because of
radical Islam."
Mr. Holder said there are a "variety of reasons"
why people commit terror attacks. That can be true, but in these
cases there was one reason: radical Islam. The attorney general
said you have to look at each case individually. That's fine, but
when that is done, one comes face to face with radical Islam every time.
He said that of the variety of reasons people might commit terror, "some
of them are potentially religious." Yes, like radical Islam.
When pressed, what Mr. Holder would finally allow is, "I certainly think
that it's possible that people who espouse a radical version of Islam
have had an ability to have an impact on people like [Times Square
bomber Faisal] Shahzad."
Mr. Holder mentioned Anwar al-Awlaki,
the U.S.-born radical cleric now holed up in Yemen who has been
mentioned in connection with all three attacks. Mr. Holder said
that Mr. al-Awlaki "has a version of Islam that is not consistent with
the teachings of [the faith]." Mr. Holder did not go into details
to back up his assertion that Mr. al-Awlaki, an Islamic scholar, is
somehow at odds with his own faith, nor did he pinpoint exactly what
Muslim teachings he was referring to.
The Obama administration
seems to have issued an internal gag order that forbids any official
statements that might cast even the most extreme interpretations of the
Islamic religion in a negative light. The "force protection
review" of the Fort Hood massacre omitted any mention of shooter Nidal
Malik Hasan's openly radical Islamic worldview or the fact that he made
the jihadist war cry "Allahu Akbar!" before opening fire.
Initially, the Obama administration refused to even call the massacre an
act of terrorism, much less radical Islamic terrorism.
Last
year, the Department of Homeland Security Domestic Extremist Lexicon,
which was pulled out of circulation in the wake of controversy with
other department publications, listed Jewish extremism and various forms
of Christian extremism as threats but made no mention of any form of
Muslim extremism. The Feb. 1, 2010 Quadrennial Homeland Security
Review discusses terrorism and violent extremism but does not mention
radical Islam as a motivator, or in any context. The 2010
Quadrennial Defense Review likewise avoids any terminology related to
Islam.
The Obama administration may not like to think of being
at war with radical Islam, but the jihadists are definitely at war with
the United States. Rather than running from the expression
"radical Islam," the administration should be openly discussing the
ideological motives of the terrorists and finding ways to delegitimize
them. Instead of hedging, obfuscating and ignoring, these
Democrats should confront the challenge frankly, openly and honestly.
Pretending that a radical, violent strain of Islam does not exist will
not make it go away. To the contrary, it will make the situation
much worse.
Obama's continuing solicitude toward the faith of
Muhammad is inexplicable, and as these acts of denial continue, it is
becoming dangerous. The United States will not defeat an enemy it
is afraid to identify.
Holder is full of baloney. This is
what a real authority, the Ayatollah Khomeini
says
about Islam -- "Those who know nothing of Islam pretend that Islam
counsels against war. Those [who say this] are witless."
And the
Ayatollah also said this -- "Islam says: Whatever good there is exists
thanks to the sword and in the shadow of the sword! People cannot be
made obedient except with the sword! The sword is the key to Paradise,
which can be opened only for Holy Warriors!"
But we must remember
that Obama said this -- "I will stand with them [Muslims]
should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
Arab Media Praises Obama
Jim Hoft
points to the Arab media, that this week praised Obama for not using
words like "Muslim terrorist" when discussing radical Islam. Last
week US Attorney General was the latest Obama official to refuse to use
the term "radical Islam" when discussing the motives behind the Times
Square bomber.
Israel National News reported:
A leading international Arab newspaper has
hailed Barack Obama for officially removing the description "Muslim
terrorist" as part of his campaign "to reach out to the Muslim
world." The op-ed did not note the radical Muslim background
of the terrorists and reasoned they are equal to other terrorists
whose religion is not connected with their acts.
Osman Mirghani, the deputy editor-in-chief of 'Al-Sharq Al-Awsat,'
which is owned by a Saudi Arabian company and published in London,
wrote an op-ed last week under the headline "Why Didn't Obama
Mention Islam?." The Obama administration has broken from the
Bush government's policy of using the term "Islamic terrorism" in
official documents and "no longer [is] responding to extremist
voices" that call for targeting home countries of terrorists, he
explained.
He said Obama is carrying out his pledge in his
"reaching out to Muslims speech" at Cairo University in June 2008.
Regarding his statements on the botched Times Square bombing, the
editor praised Obama for not once referring to prime suspect Faisal
Shahzad's being Muslim and for not "mentioning Islam in discussing
the terrorist operation."
Here is a video in which an ex-PLO terrorist says "Obama Is
culturally a Muslim."
Obama Defends Islam, Muslim Fanatics At
West Point Commencement
Real Clear Politics
provides this excerpt from Obama's speech:
"Our campaign to disrupt, dismantle, and to
defeat al Qaeda is part of an international effort that is necessary
and just. But this is a different kind of war. There
will be no simple moment of surrender to mark the journey’s end --
no armistice or banner headline. Though we have had more
success in eliminating al Qaeda leaders in recent months than in
recent years, they will continue to recruit, plot, and exploit our
open society. We see that in bombs that go off in Kabul and
Karachi. We see it in attempts to blow up an airliner over
Detroit or a SUV in Times Square, even as these failed attacks show
that pressure on networks like al Qaeda is forcing them to rely on
terrorists with less time and space to train. We see it in al
Qaeda’s gross distortion of Islam, their disrespect for human life,
and their attempts to prey upon fear, and hatred, and prejudice."
So the threat will not go away soon, but let’s be clear: al
Qaeda and its affiliates are small men on the wrong side of history.
They lead no nation. They lead no religion. We need not
give in to fear every time a terrorist tries to scare us. We
should not discard our freedoms because extremists try to exploit
them. We cannot succumb to division because others try to
drive us apart. We are the United States of America.
We’ve repaired our union, faced down fascism, and outlasted
communism. We have gone through turmoil and come out stronger,
and we will do so once more.
I know this to be true because I
see the strength and resilience of the American people.
Terrorists want to scare us, but New Yorkers go about their lives
unafraid. Extremists want a war between America and Islam, but
Muslims are a part of our national life, including those who serve
in our Army. Adversaries want to divide us, but we are united
by our support for you -- soldiers who send a clear message that
this country is both the land of the free and the home of the
brave."
"...tries to scare us?" --
"...want to scare us?"
Is this guy completely insane? Al
Qaeda doesn't want to scare Americans. Al Qaeda wants to kill
Americans, and they've been doing it for years. And if they get
their hands on a nuke, they'll kill Americans by the tens of thousands.
Now, that's scary.
Obama Is The Ideal Partner Of Global Islamist
Movement
Barack Obama is the "ideal partner" for the
global Islamist movement, which has more in common with the radical left
than might be imagined, former federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy
tells Newsmax in
this video.
McCarthy, who prosecuted blind
Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman and other jihadists for the 1993 bombing of the World Trade
Center, also warns that America must guard against the rise of shariah
-- Islamic law -- in parts of the country.
McCarthy, whose new
book, "The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotaged America," is
being released Tuesday, is co-chairman of the Center for Law and
Counterterrorism at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies in
Washington, D.C., and a contributing editor at National Review.
I try to avoid long videos, but
this one (14:10) is worth watching.

Obama Told Me He Is A Muslim
"Obama told me he is still a Muslim, who
supports the Muslim agenda."
Before It's News blog
says this was the statement by Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul
Gheit on Nile-TV. It was made on the "Round Table" show.
This is the statement as recorded:
Adul Gheit said he had a
one-on-one meeting with Obama, where Obama told him that He was still a
Muslim, the son of a Muslim father, the step son of Muslim stepfather,
that his half brothers in Kenya are Muslims, and that he was sympathetic
towards the Muslim agenda.
Adul Gheit claimed Obama told the
Arabs to show patience. Obama promised that once he overcame some
domestic issues, like the Health care reform, he would show the Muslim
World how to deal with Israel.
The Appeaser-In-Chief
Rich Trzupek
says
the Islamist movement that threatens Judeo-Christian western culture can
be viewed in one of two ways: as a fundamentalist, misguidedly pious
religious phenomenon that appeals to a wide swath of the Muslim masses,
or as a calculated, cynical attempt to grab both the power and wealth
that the West holds -- orchestrated by an Islamic elite who don’t
actually care about the finer points of the Quran or Sharia law, except
when either might serve to further their overall purpose. The
important difference between the way that George W. Bush approached the
problem of radical Islam and the manner in which Barack Obama deals with
the issue -- or claims to be trying to deal it -- involves these two
different points of view.
At various instances during his terms
in office Bush tried, mostly in vain, to find and deal with moderates
among Islamic leadership, hoping to thus isolate extremist leaders and
their radical, fundamentalist followers. It was a flawed vision,
but an appealing one, for it attacked the problem at a grass roots
level. If radical Islam is primarily a political phenomenon then
it should be possible to separate radical organizations like the
Taliban, al Qaeda and Hamas from ordinary moderate Muslims who reject
fundamentalist dogma and instead blend secular values in with their
theology in the western style. That’s a tough road to take,
especially given the lack of any meaningful educational system in the
modern sense in the Muslim world. Yet, in Iraq the majority of a
relatively educated populace (by Islamic-state standards anyway) did
indeed reject the radicals in their midst once coalition forces provided
the kind of security needed to allow the Iraqi people to take charge of
their lives in safety.
Barack Obama, on the other hand, has
effectively abandoned any hope of cultivating a moderate, secularlist
Islam that might counterbalance the fundamentalist, radical variety.
Given the ever-increasing power and influence of the extremists, even in
a nation like Turkey that we once thought of as the model of a "moderate
Muslim" state, Obama’s approach is more realistic than Bush’s utopian
visions. Moderate Muslims, cowed by the murderous fanatics who
infect Islam throughout the globe, were never of much use in the war on
terror anyway and aren’t likely to be in the future. In a
practical sense, Obama’s policies reflect the reality that Islam cannot
be reformed in any meaningful sense. But his reaction to that
reality has been to try to appease the extremists rather than rendering
them harmless. It’s a strategy that merely emboldens radical
Muslims, who are thus convinced more than ever that the West lacks the
stomach to see this war through.
Obama’s counter-terrorism czar,
John Brennan provided an
example of the Obama administration’s approach in a speech he gave a few
weeks ago. Utilizing the kind of Orwellian newspeak that has
become a hallmark of this administration, Brennan said that "…we need to
try to build up the more moderate elements" within Hezbollah. It’s
at least the second time that Brennan has referred to "moderate
elements" within the radical Shia militia, but Brennan surely knows that
there are no moderate elements within Hezbollah, just as though there
are no moderates within Hamas, the Taliban or al Qaeda. So, why
use such a term? There’s only one rational answer: if this
administration is going to negotiate with terrorists -- in effect trying
to find a way to buy them off -- it cannot appear to be doing so.
While America remains a house divided when it comes to pressing forward
war against the jihadis, the "millions for defense, but not a penny for
tribute" spirit still resonates among Americans of every political
stripe. Obama would face intense criticism on both sides of the
aisle if he announced that he was going to negotiate a settlement with
terrorists, but when the administration packages that strategy as an
attempt to nurture so-called moderates, it sounds much more palatable,
so that’s how his counter-terrorism czar is going to sell it.
This is of course the same John Brennan who said: "Nor do we describe
our enemy as 'jihadists' or 'Islamists' because jihad is a holy
struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam, meaning to purify oneself or
one’s community, and there is nothing holy or legitimate or Islamic
about murdering innocent men, women and children." Unfortunately,
to the radicals that this administration is trying to court, it is both
legitimate and Islamic to murder innocent men, women and children in the
course of this "holy struggle." Again, Brennan knows that.
He was in the CIA long enough to understand the realities of Islam, but
his current assignment involves papering-over those inconvenient facts,
not confronting the cold truth.
Some commentators have accused
Obama of sympathizing with the radicals, or possibly being a "closet
Muslim" himself. That kind of reaction is understandable, given
Obama’s poorly-concealed hostility towards Israel and his attempts to
curry favor from Islamic states. Yet, the more likely reason that
Obama chooses to trod down this dangerous path is because he’s an
academic and, like most academics, believes that the right combination
of words and concessions can soothe the most savage beasts. It’s a
naïve strategy, of the sort that only a smug intellectual can embrace.
Appeasement is also a forlorn hope, one that delays an inevitable
conflict rather than preventing it, as western leaders from Jefferson
through Chamberlain painfully learned. Barack Obama seems
determined to take America down that doomed path once more. The
inevitable consequences of Obama’s policy are obvious to even casual
students of history and Islam: America and Israel will surely pay
for Obama’s naiveté in blood. The only real questions are when and
how much.
Islam's Educator-In-Chief
Scott at PowerLine blog
says
we have written a lot about Rashad Hussain, America's special envoy to
the Organization for the Islamic Conference (OIC), the Saudi-based body
formed in 1969 to "protect" Jerusalem from the Israelis. Hussain
is a piece of work. See the posts collected
here.
Notwithstanding his flaws, Hussain has made a great
contribution to understanding Barack Obama. This week in a speech
a the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington,
Hussain announced a new title for Obama. According to Hussain,
Obama is America's "Educator-in-Chief on Islam." He may be in over
his head as the president of the United States, but he's not bad at
promoting Islam. Obama embodies the the melding of the left with
Islamist forces at home and abroad. Stephen Schwartz reports:
The occasion was another "post-Cairo"
conference, following on the event that welcomed Islamist ideologue
Tariq Ramadan to Washington in April. Hussain also declared
that Obama is "Educator-in-Chief" on the Muslim fasting month of
Ramadan, which has produced diplomatic and political events around
the capital for some years. Hussain affirmed with satisfaction
that presidential iftar dinners, where the fast is broken after
sundown, and which had formerly been limited to diplomats from
Muslim countries, now welcomed American Muslims from throughout
society.
In his remarks, Hussain also congratulated Obama for
sending Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser, to last year's annual
convention of the Islamic Society of North America, a notorious
front for Saudi-financed Muslim radicalism. Worse, Hussain has
now divulged that the U.S. will support the OIC in the latter's
United Nations effort to criminalize "defamation of religion" --
widely perceived as a measure to suppress criticism of Muslim
practices that violate human rights. "The OIC and the Obama
administration will work together in the UN on the issue of
defamation of religion, especially in Europe," said Hussain.
He had previously said, at the above-mentioned April "post-Cairo"
conference, that the U.S. would work with the OIC to defend the
Muslim head-scarf against prohibitions on its display in schools and
governmental offices -- a measure common to secular France and now
Islamist-ruled, but still legally-secular Turkey, as well as
Muslim-majority Tunisia and Kosovo.
Obama, Hussain
declaimed, has created an "overarching framework" for relations
between Muslims and non-Muslims that is lacking in Europe. The
problem, according to the president's man at the OIC, is that a
once-favorable relationship between the West and the Muslim
countries has turned negative in the past decade -- presumably,
since 9/11. Put plainly, Obama's desire to educate Americans
about Islam is founded on nostalgia for a warm and reliable
friendship that rarely existed.
Here Schwartz pauses to note Hussain's explanation
of the Orwellian linguistic contortions that have become a prominent
feature of the Obama administration's treatment of Islam ("a variety of
factors") and terrorism ("man-made disasters") and jihad (a "holy
struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam"):
As noted by Hussain, Obama has called for
references to "Islamic terrorism" and "jihadism" to be expunged from
the official vocabulary employed by his administration, and has
pronounced last year's Fort Hood massacre to be unrelated to Islam.
As the president has assured the world, terrorism is anti-Islamic
and the term "jihad" has been misused. Thus Obama presumes not
only to act as "educator" on Islam to non-Muslim Americans, but to
define the religion for its own adherents.
Hussain
addressed his comments to an event assessing the impact of Obama's
Cairo speech. But Hussain employed a phrase that must have
been chilling to those who heard in it an echo, saying "Islam is a
solution" to the current global challenges emerging from Muslim
ranks. A "post-Cairo" phrase indeed: "Islam is the solution"
is the slogan of the radical Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood.
Schwartz concludes with the question: "Are we
learning yet?" I think we've learned enough for today. I
just don't know what we can do about it.
Obama Tasks NASA With Building Muslim
Self-Esteem
Paul Mirengoff
says,
that in this video, Charles Bolden, head of NASA, tells Al Jazeera that
the "foremost" task Obama has given him is "to find a way to reach out
to the Muslim world and engage much more with predominantly Muslim
nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to
science, math, and engineering." Thus, NASA's primary mission is
no longer to enhance American science and engineering or to explore
space, but to boost the self-esteem of "predominantly Muslim nations."
Exploring space didn't even make the top three things Obama wants
Bolden to accomplish. The other two are "re-inspire children to
want to get into science and math" and "expand our international
relationships,"
This is more evidence, if any were needed, of
Obama's lack of interest in American achievement or, indeed, American
greatness. He seems to believe we've achieved enough (or perhaps
too much) and that the trick now is to make nations that have achieved
little for centuries feel like we couldn't have done it without them (in
the video, Bolden goes on to talk about how much NASA owes the Russians
and the Japanese).
Behind the bravado of the Muslim world there
may well lie an inferiority complex. If so, Obama is a fool if he
believes we can help Muslims overcome that complex by having the head of
the agency that symbolizes our technical superiority make patronizing
statements about ancient Muslim contributions to science.

In Bolden's insane Muslim outreach
interview,
he later said the United States, which first sent men to the moon in
1969, is no longer capable of reaching beyond low earth orbit
without help from other nations.
Bolden discussed NASA’s goal
of greater international cooperation in space exploration. He
said the United States, more than 40 years after the first moon
mission, cannot reach beyond earth’s orbit today without assistance
from abroad:
In his message in Cairo, [Obama] talked
about expanding our international outreach, expanding our
international involvement. We’re not going to go anywhere
beyond low earth orbit as a single entity. The United
States can’t do it, China can’t do it -- no single nation is
going to go to a place like Mars alone.
U.S. Space Program Bows To Mecca
Investors.com has an
item on NASA's chief saying his mission is not to return us to space
but to help the Muslim world feel good about its scientific
contributions. The moon we should be landing on should not be
crescent-shaped.
At a time when the only missile programs in the
Arab world, namely in Syria and Iran, are aimed at hitting Israel with
chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, NASA administrator Charles
Bolden goes on Al Jazeera to tell the Muslim world his "foremost" goal
was to make them feel good about their achievements in math, science and
engineering.
Citing the International Space Station as an
example, Bolden described space travel as an international collaboration
of which Muslim nations must be a part.
As much as we are excited
about the prospect of U.S. tax dollars going to encourage young
Jordanians and Egyptians to become astronauts, we'd much rather not see
Americans abandoning the final frontier to the Chinese while we hitch
rides with the Russians.
Bolden's one small step for Islam comes
after presiding over the demise of the space shuttle program and the
cancellation of the Constellation program, which was to put America back
on the moon and restore America's space dominance.
Obama does not
believe in American exceptionalism and has said at conferences such as
the G-20 that we would just like to be one of the 20. We no longer
seek to lead, but we yearn to apologize. Hey, fellas, forget that
American flag on the moon. Sorry about that. It won't happen
again. Welcome aboard the starship Kumbaya.
"When I became
the NASA administrator -- or before I became the NASA administrator --
he (Obama) charged me with three things," Bolden said in an interview.
"One was he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into
science and math, he (Obama) wanted me to expand our international
relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a
way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with
dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic
contribution to science ... and math and engineering." Say what?
Foremost? Feel good? Time was, the job of NASA and its
administrator was to direct America's exploration of and dominance in
space. Sure, we launched foreign satellites and carried foreign
astronauts, scientists and their experiments into space. But
always using America's launch vehicles and space shuttle. NASA's
mission statement said nothing about esteem-building in the Arab world.

GOP Trust.com is

that is about to be erected on the hallowed acreage of lower Manhattan's

erect a shrine to the 9/11 terrorists they hail as martyrs. This
offense cannot stand.
Gibbs -- "The Idea That Has Corrupted A Religion"
Jihad Watch says White House Press Aide Mr.
Gibbs described the American effort in the Islamic world as trying to
cope with, or to fight, not Islam, not even "those who support Jihad,"
but rather, "an idea that has corrupted a religion." The religion
was not given a name, but you are free to guess. And this bland
formula was one more variant on the earlier, Bush-era business about
those who had "hijacked a great religion." And it is an
improvement, I suppose, on this business of merely describing Islamic
jihadists as "violent extremists" who somehow misinterpret their own
faith.
Well, I'm not content to leave it at that. I find
the statement vague. I want it to be fleshed out, by Mr. Gibbs, or
by someone else -- possibly John Brennan, Deputy Special Assistant To
The President For Homeland Security and Terrorism, or even, just
possibly, by Obama himself.
I want to know what that idea is that
has "corrupted the religion" of Islam. Is it the idea that the
Muslims are the "best of peoples"?
Is it the idea that under the
Shari'a, the Holy Law of Islam, non-Muslims at best can expect to endure
life as dhimmis, that is, as people who are locked into a permanent
status that guarantees deliberate humiliation (as in the conditions that
accompany the payment of the Jizyah), degradation, and physical
insecurity?
Is it the idea that the world belongs to Allah, but
that right now, that world which belongs to Allah is divided between
those parts where Muslims already rule, the Dar al-Islam (the House, or
Domain, of Islam), and Dar al-Harb (the House, or Domain, of War, where
Infidels not yet subject to Islam still dominate), and that it is the
duty of all Muslims to participate, directly or indirectly, in the Jihad
or struggle to remove all obstacles to the spread, and then the
dominance, of Islam?
Is it the idea that a state of permanent
war, though not always of open warfare, must exist between Believer and
Unbeliever, Muslim and Infidel?
Is it the idea that women and
non-Muslims are permanently inferior to Muslim males in a well-ordered
society, that is, one where the Holy Law of Islam, the Shari'a,
prevails?
What is it, exactly, that Mr. Gibbs, and behind Mr.
Gibbs the Administration for which he stands, thinks is the "idea that
has corrupted a religion," the "religion" being Islam.
Gibbels
should know that Islam is not a religion, nor is it a cult. It is
a complete system. Islam has religious, legal, political, economic
and military components. The religious component is a beard for
all the other components. When Muslims agitate for their
"religious rights," they are really agitating for the implementation and
acceptance of Sharia law.
I guess,
Gibbels fancies himself an Islamic expert, but this is what a real
authority, the Ayatollah Khomeini says about Islam:
"Those who
know nothing of Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war. Those
[who say this] are witless."
And
this . . .
"Islam says: Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword and
in the shadow of the sword! People cannot be made obedient
except with the sword! The sword is the key to Paradise, which
can be opened only for Holy Warriors!"
US Funding Foreign Mosque Construction
Lee DeCovnick
says truth, even in the tightly controlled prison of the Obama media
complex, occasionally bursts forth like a swordfish cavorting on the
waves of a golden August afternoon.
Newsweek, the Washington
Post's former progressive stepchild, published an
op-ed by Fareed Zakaria, the in-house lapdog for the Administration,
extolling the virtues of building the Ground Zero Mosque. A couple
of sentences demand a great deal more explanation.
To that end, early in its tenure the Bush
administration began a serious effort to seek out and support
moderate Islam. Since then, Washington has funded mosques,
schools, institutes, and community centers that are trying to
modernize Islam around the world.
We should be encouraging
groups like the one behind this project, not demonizing them.
Were this mosque being built in a foreign city, chances are that the
U.S. government would be funding it.
Perhaps we all missed the memo where US taxpayers
are gleefully funding Islamic "mosques, schools, institutes, and
community centers" around the globe. Of course, US troops have
restored hundreds of schools and community centers in Iraq and
Afghanistan, but mosques and Islamic institutes? This seems very
difficult to believe.
So, as an enraged and curious taxpaying
citizen, I have a few questions for Mr. Zakaria, our Congress and this
Administration. What are the locations, costs, and dates of
construction of these US taxpayer-funded mosques and Islamic institutes?
If some of these mosques were built in America, didn't anyone contact
the ACLU? (I would pay real money to be in "the room" during that
discussion.) What particular piece of Congressional legislation
authorized US taxpayer dollars to be spent on these mosques and Islamic
institutes? Did our government apportion these funds fairly and
equally between the Shi'a, Sunni, and Sufi sects of Islam?
The
Constitution states "Congress shall make no law respecting an
establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"
I'm damn sure spending US taxpayer dollars on constructing mosques was
not envisioned by the Founding Fathers nor by the overwhelming majority
of American citizens.

Obama to Host Ramadan Dinner
Barack Obama has extended his best wishes to
Muslims in America and around the world and
announced
that he will host a fast-breaking dinner at the White House this week.
"I want to extend my best wishes to the 1.5 billion Muslims
around the world -- and your families and friends -- as you welcome the
beginning of Ramadan," Obama said in an official statement issued by the
US State Department.
"Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known
for great diversity and racial equality. And here in the United
States, Ramadan is a reminder that Islam has always been part of
America."
The White House, he said, would host fast breaking
dinner.
"I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating
Ramadan here at the White House later this week, and wish you a blessed
month."
For years, the
National Day of Prayer breakfast has been a staple of the White House
calendar. Last May, Obama cancelled
it with no comment.
Obama's
not a Muslim. We know this because he told us so. He says
he's a Christian, but
he won't have breakfast with Christians. However, he'll breakfast
with Muslims.
He's correct about Islam being part of American history, though.
Islam was America's first external threat.
More than two hundred years ago the newly established United States
made its first attempt to fight an overseas battle to protect its
private citizens by building an international coalition against an
unconventional enemy. Then the enemies were pirates and piracy.
The focus of the United States and a proposed international coalition
was the Barbary Pirates of North Africa.
Every last one of the Barbary
Pirates was a Muslim, so Obama is technically correct when he says,
"...Islam has always been part of America."
President Thomas
Jefferson went to war against Islam when it attacked American interests.
Obama goes to breakfast with Islam.

Obama's Islamic America
Obama says Islam has always been part of
America. The Washington Times
asks, what country is he talking about?
Obama is using the
occasion of Ramadan to rewrite U.S. history and give Islam a prominence
in American annals that it has not earned.
In this year's
greeting, Obama said the rituals of Ramadan "remind us of the principles
that we hold in common and Islam's role in advancing justice, progress,
tolerance and the dignity of all human beings. Ramadan is a celebration
of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality. And here
in the United States, Ramadan is a reminder that Islam has always been
part of America and that American Muslims have made extraordinary
contributions to our country."
That Islam has had a major role in
advancing justice, progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human
beings may come as a surprise to Muslim women. Young Afghan girls
who are having acid thrown in their faces on the way to school might
want to offer their perspectives. That Islam is "known" for
diversity and racial equality is also a bit of a reach. This
certainly does not refer to religious diversity, which is nonexistent in
many Muslim-majority states. This is a plaudit better reserved for
a speech at the opening of a synagogue in Mecca.
Most puzzling is
Obama's claim that "Islam has always been part of America." Islam
had no influence on the origins and development of the United States.
It contributed nothing to early American political culture, art,
literature, music or any other aspect of the early nation.
Throughout most of American history, the Muslim world was perceived as
remote, alien and belligerent. Perhaps Obama was thinking about
the Barbary Pirates and their role in the founding of the U.S. Navy, or
Andrew Jackson's dispatch of frigates against Muslim pirates in Sumatra
in the 1830s. Maybe he was recalling Rutherford B. Hayes' 1880
statement regarding Morocco on "the necessity, in accordance with the
humane and enlightened spirit of the age, of putting an end to the
persecutions, which have been so prevalent in that country, of persons
of a faith other than the Moslem, and especially of the Hebrew residents
of Morocco." Or Grover Cleveland's 1896 comment on the continuing
massacre of Armenian Christians: "We have been afflicted by continued
and not infrequent reports of the wanton destruction of homes and the
bloody butchery of men, women and children, made martyrs to their
profession of Christian faith. ... It so mars the humane and
enlightened civilization that belongs to the close of the nineteenth
century that it seems hardly possible that the earnest demand of good
people throughout the Christian world for its corrective treatment will
remain unanswered."
It also is customary in the United States to
search for obscure contributions made by in-vogue minority groups as a
feel-good way of promoting inclusion. One of the earliest Muslims
to come to the United States was a 17th-century Egyptian named
Norsereddin, who settled in the Catskills and was described by one
chronicler as "haughty, morose, unprincipled, cruel and dissipated."
Spurned by the princess of an Indian tribe that had befriended him, he
managed through a subterfuge to poison her. He was later run down
by the betrayed Indians, who burned him alive. It is not the kind
of tale that makes it into politically correct history books.
Fox News is reporting that Barack Obama
forcefully endorsed building a mosque near ground zero, saying the
country's founding principles demanded no less.
"As a citizen,
and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice
their religion as anyone else in this country," Obama said, weighing in
for the first time on a controversy that has riven New York City and the
nation.
"That includes the right to build a place of worship and
a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance
with local laws and ordinances," he said. "This is America, and
our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable."
Obama
made the comments at an annual dinner in the White House State Dining
Room celebrating the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
Americans
were quick to pounce on Obama's remarks.
"President Obama is
wrong," said Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y. "It is insensitive and
uncaring for the Muslim community to build a mosque in the shadow of
ground zero. While the Muslim community has the right to build the
mosque they are abusing that right by needlessly offending so many
people who have suffered so much."
Related:Obama said Muslims may build their Mosque anywhere
they want and we should let them because of it is in keeping with "the
writ from our founders."
Obama doesn't know squat about "our
founders," and once again, I am reminded of
Obama's post-9/11
comment, "I will stand with them [Muslims] should the political
winds shift in an ugly direction."
The Jesuits would say,
"Give me the child, and I will mold the man."
An Awful President, A Worse Theologian
John Hinderaker
says
he was working on a post about Obama's enthusiastic endorsement of the
Ground Zero mosque when he
saw
that Paul Mirengoff had already done one. So he just add this
coda: Obama's lecture on religion was a classic of brain-dead
multiculturalism. Early in his remarks, he said:
Here at the White House, we have a tradition
of hosting iftars that goes back several years, just as we host
Christmas parties, seders, and Diwali celebrations.
Hinderaker confesses, he had to look it up --
Diwali is a Hindu festival. But who cares? Under
multicultural dogma, these events are all the same. This was the
climax of Obama's lecture:
For in the end, we remain "one nation, under
God, indivisible." And we can only achieve "liberty and
justice for all" if we live by that one rule at the heart of every
religion, including Islam -- that we do unto others as we would have
them do unto us.
This is revealing: the ultimate destination of
multiculturalism is platitudinous stupidity. All religions, Obama
tells us, are really the same, and can be summed up in the Golden Rule.
Actually, there is no religion that can be reduced to the Golden Rule,
least of all Islam. Islam does not enjoin believers to do unto
infidels as you would have infidels do unto you. On the contrary!
Islam tells its followers to subdue infidels; to kill them; to, at best,
reduce them to dhimmitude. The Golden Rule is antithetical to
Islam. Here is a thought experiment:
compare
HADITH Sahih Bukhari [4:52:176] with the parable of the good Samaritan.
Multiculturalism, in short, reduces its adherents (like Obama) to a
low intellectual plane. If you really think that all religions are
the same, and they all exemplify the Golden Rule, then you won't
understand the point of Cordoba House.
The First Un-American President
"As a citizen, and as president, I believe
that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as
anyone else in this country." -- Barack Hussein Obama, spoken at a
White House dinner to celebrate the beginning of Ramadan!
Alan Caruba says, well, of course, he does.
Why wouldn’t someone who thinks the sound of the call to evening prayers
from a nearby minaret is one of the sweetest sounds in the world?
Why wouldn’t someone who spent his formative years, age six to twelve,
in Indonesia, the step-son of a Muslim father and the son of a Muslim
father who had deserted his wife and child.
But, I hear you say,
he spent twenty years in a Christian church in Chicago. Yes, with
a preacher who said of 9/11 that "the chickens had come home to roost";
a preacher who originally was a Black Muslim until he embraced Black
Liberation theology.
"That includes the right to build a place of
worship and a community center on private property in lower
Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances. This is
America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be
unshakeable."
What a pompous hypocrite. He’s been in the
White House since January 20, 2009, and has yet to select a church to
attend in Washington, D.C., like every president before him has done,
but he makes sure to celebrate Ramadan.
That’s what you get when
you elect a man named Barack Hussein Obama about whom you know nothing
other than the fawning, worshipful puke served up by the liberal media
all through the campaign and for most of his first year and a half in
office.
Too late! The majority of voters selected a
complete stranger; a man with virtually no available paper trail,
including the one item most people can produce on request, a legitimate
birth certificate.
Obama is not an American. He is the son
of a former British subject, a Kenyan of the same name. He is the
step-son of an Indonesian who married his mother and adopted him.
James Lewis says nothing is more like the
fascist Axis of the 1930s than Islamist expansionism today. Like the
Hitler-Tojo-Mussolini Axis of the 1930s, Islamic fascists are
fundamentally imperialistic, with an explicit order from on High to
subjugate civilized people or turn them to ashes. Mohammed himself
famously threatened the cultured Persian and Byzantine Emperors of his
time, and in the following years, his followers knocked those empires
over like devouring army ants.
The peace-loving Buddhist
monasteries of India were consumed by invading Muslim armies, with the
result that there are no Buddhist monasteries left in India today.
Not a single one. Only Hinduism survived the Muslim invasions,
because Hindus are not pacifists. You can ask any Sikh about that;
they are a huge warrior religion that arose as a buffer between Hindu
India and its many Muslim invaders, who now hold Pakistan and
Afghanistan. In India, the Buddhist monks just died or fled to Tibet.
So much for the glorious results of peaceful resistance against Muslim
armies.
Wherever Islamic fascists go, they first like to
frighten and intimidate less warlike peoples -- as in London today,
where any BBC criticism of Islamic fascists is streng verboten.
That's what the Ground Zero Mosque and the Mohammed cartoon uproar have
in common: They are purposeful agitprop campaigns to scare and
intimidate all the weak-willed liberals in the West, a standard Islamist
tactic to conquer by intimidation, just as Muslim conquerors have always
done. Why bother to wage war when you can win by terror?
Putin understands that, the Chinese understand it, and it's clear enough
around the Middle East. Only American liberals and European
socialists are in denial. That's why they are the biggest
round-heels in the world. They will happily collude in their own
subjection and degradation.
Islamic practice has always required
mosques to have the highest towers in any subjugated city. No Jews
or Christians were ever allowed to build higher places of worship, to
ride higher (on horses or mules), or even to raise their heads higher
while walking the streets than any Muslim. If you were a Jew or a
Christian, you would duck your head deep down as you passed a Muslim,
who was allowed to spit on you at will. As recently as the Ottoman
Empire (crumbled in 1917), all dhimmis were unceremoniously beaten to
the ground if they dared to raise their heads higher than a passing
Muslim. Modern Westerners deny the obvious, but that is because
they are wishful idiots, self-inflicted ignorami, and dead meat to all
the predators of this world. It's Little Red Riding Hood skipping
into the dark forest again, but this time nobody told her about the Big
Bad Wolf.
A bit long
for here but worth reading on a Sunday morning. Good short history
of Islamic conquest.
Democrats Outraged Over Obama's Comments
Democrats were frustrated today with Barack
Obama’s radical stance on the Ground Zero Mosque. Obama supports a
mosque at Ground Zero along with only 20% of voters. A vast
majority of Americans do not want a victory mosque built near the former
World Trade buildings.
Democrats -- at least the ones willing to
comment at all -- could barely contain their frustration over
Obama’s remarks Friday night, saying they would further complicate
campaign efforts by candidates struggling in an anti-Democratic
year, particularly moderates in conservative-leaning districts who
already are 2010’s most vulnerable contenders.
"I would
prefer the president be a little more of a politician and a little
less of a college professor," former Rep. Martin Frost (D-Tex.), who
once ran the House Democratic campaign arm, wrote in POLITICO’s
Arena. "While a defensible position, it will not play well in
the parts of the country where Democrats need the most help."
Obama himself had steered clear of the issue for weeks, with his
spokesman Robert Gibbs telling reporters that it was primarily a
local issue. But at a Friday White House Iftar dinner, Obama
said that while he understands Ground Zero is "hallowed ground," he
told a group of Muslims that he believes they have "the same right
to practice their religion as everyone else in the country."
"And that includes the right to build a place of worship and a
community center on private property in Lower Manhattan, in
accordance with local laws and ordinances," he said.
9/11 Families Stunned By Obama's Support
Barack Obama has abandoned America at the place
where America’s heart was broken nine years ago, and where her true
values were on display for all to see. Since that dark day,
Americans have been asked to bear the burden of defending those values,
again and again and again. Now the president declares that the
victims of 9/11 and their families must bear another burden. We
must stand silent at the last place in America where 9/11 is still
remembered with reverence or risk being called religious bigots.
Muslims have worshipped in New York without incident both before and
after the attacks of 9/11. This controversy is not about religious
freedom. 9/11 was more than a "deeply traumatic event," it was an
act of war. Building a 15-story mosque at Ground Zero is a
deliberately provocative act that will precipitate more bloodshed in the
name of Allah. Those who continue to target and kill American
civilians and U.S. troops will see it as a symbol of their historic
progress at the site of their most bloody victory. Demolishing a
building that was damaged by wreckage from one of the hijacked planes in
order to build a mosque and Islamic Center will further energize those
who regard it as a ratification of their violent and divinely ordered
mission: the spread of shariah law and its subjugation of all free
people, including secular Muslims who come to this country fleeing that
medieval ideology, which destroys lives and crushes the human spirit.
We are
stunned by the president’s willingness to disregard what Americans
should be proud of: our enduring generosity to others on 9/11–a day when
human decency triumphed over human depravity. On that day, when
3,000 of our fellow human beings were killed in barbaric act of raw
religious intolerance unlike this country had ever seen, Americans did
not turn outward with hatred or violence, we turned to each other, armed
with nothing more than American flags and countless acts of kindness.
In a breathtakingly inappropriate setting, the president has chosen to
declare our memories of 9/11 obsolete and the sanctity of Ground Zero
finished. No one who has lived this history and felt the sting of
our country’s loss that day can truly believe that putting our families
through more wrenching heartache can be an act of peace.
We will
honor the memory of our loved ones. We will protect our children,
whose lives will never be the same. We will not stand silent.
Obama Says He Didn't Say What He Said
Talking Sides blog asks, did Barack Obama come
out in favor of the building of a mosque just steps away from where
Islamic extremists slaughtered almost 3,000 Americans on 9/11? To
paraphrase former President Bill Clinton, it depends on what your
definition of "right" is. At last night's White House event to
observe the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Obama said that he believes
"Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else
in this country" and "that includes the right to build a place of
worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan,
in accordance with local laws and ordinances." After a major
political backlash today which everyone (except Obama) could see coming
from the instant the words left his mouth, Obama is trying to distance
himself from his own statements.
Asked about his remarks at last
night's festivities, Obama
claimed,
"I was not commenting and I will not comment on the wisdom of making the
decision to put a mosque there. I was commenting very specifically
on the right people have that dates back to our founding. That's
what our country is about. And I think it's very important as
difficult as some of these issues are that we stay focused on who we are
as a people and what our values are all about."
It will be up to
each individual to decide for themselves whether Obama supported the
building of the mosque on Friday and backed away from that position on
Saturday or, as he now claims, he never actually took a position on
whether that mosque should be built on that site. But what is
undeniable is that in his comments on Friday night before an audience
that was decidedly in favor of the project, he said what he needed to
say to receive an enthusiastic standing ovation from those assembled.
Our Narcissist-In-Chief once again chose to garner instant
gratification, praise and glory from a targeted group before thinking
about and considering all of the people he is sworn to serve.
This is yet another instance of Obama trying to bolster his own
popularity with certain groups in certain moments (remember "the police
acted stupidly?") instead of providing true leadership on the difficult
issues we face.
No doubt Obama's original comments on the Ground
Zero mosque and his subsequent backpedaling will have a negative
political effect on his fellow Democrats running in November. But
as long as he got to bask in the warmth of a "standing O" at yet another
lavish White House event, I doubt he cares.
Already getting trounced in the polls,
Democrats are reeling over Obama’s decision to side with the Muslim
Brotherhood over the American people by endorsing the Ground Zero
mosque. So he’s trying to close Pandora’s Box.
Politico
reports
[and thanks to John Hinderaker at Powerline for
pointing this out] that Obama is now seeking "to defuse the
controversy" by explaining that he was merely talking about the mosque
proponents' legal right to build at the World Trade Center
site. "I was not commenting and I will not comment," he said, "on
the wisdom of making the decision to put a mosque there"
(emphasis added).
Good luck with that one. Compounding
insult with cynicism and cowardice is probably not a winning strategy.
Hamas Agrees With Obama On Ground Zero
Mosque
A leader of the Hamas terror group yesterday
jumped into the emotional debate on the plan to construct a mosque near
Ground Zero --
insisting Muslims "have to build" it there.
Interviewed on
"Aaron Klein Investigative Radio" on WABC, Mahmoud al-Zahar, a
co-founder of Hamas and the organization's chief on the Gaza Strip,
said, "We have to build everywhere. In every area we have, [as]
Muslim[s], we have to pray, and this mosque is the only site of prayer.
We have to build the mosque, as you are allowed to build the church and
Israelis are building their holy places.
Zahar said that Hamas is
"representing the vast majority of the Arabic and Islamic world --
especially the Islamic side."
He added that Muslims around the
world, including those who live in this country, are united in a common
cause.
"First of all, we have to address that we are different
as people, as a nation, totally different," he said. "We already
are living under the tradition of Islam. Islam is controlling
every source of our life as regard to marriage, divorce, our commercial
relationships," Zahar said.
"Even the Islamic people or the
Muslims in your country, they are living now in the tradition of Islam.
They are fasting; they are praying."
In addition to supporting the
construction of the Islamic Victory mosque, this guy is describing the
process of Islamization, the gradual evolution of the sharia compliant
state. Here is how
Islamization works.
Obama: Muslim Missionary?
Chuck Norris says that our First Amendment
freedoms of speech and religion are in jeopardy, more than they have
been at any other time in U.S. history. As if recently passed
"hate crime" laws and a politically correct culture weren't bad enough.
Now Obama is using international pressure and possibly law to establish
a prohibition against insulting Islam or Muslims.
Let me remind
us how we got here.
Speaking for most Founding Fathers in his
day, John Jay, the first chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court,
appointed by George Washington himself, said, "Providence has given to
our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as
the privilege and interest, of a Christian nation to select and prefer
Christians for their rulers."
Two hundred years later, Barack
Obama has denied America's rich Judeo-Christian heritage before the eyes
and ears of other countries, as he publicly declared in Turkey on April
6, 2009, "We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation."
Then
there was Cairo in June 2009, when Obama vowed to establish "a new
beginning between the United States and Muslims." He continued: "I
have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where
it was first revealed. That experience guides my conviction that
partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is,
not what it isn't. And I consider it part of my responsibility as
president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of
Islam wherever they appear."
Therein lie two of the most unique
U.S. presidential religious passions and missions in the history of the
U.S. First, "I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the
United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever
they appear." Second, to create a "partnership between America and
Islam." (Notice the partnership is between our country and a
religion, not other countries or Arab states. That's key!)
The Washington Times
editorializes on Obama's fixation on all things Islamic tripping him
up again this weekend when he seemed to give strong support to the
Ground Zero Mosque project, then quickly "clarified" his way into yet
more trouble. Obama gratuitously raised the mosque issue at an
Iftar dinner with Muslim-American leaders, a double dose of symbolism
that drew immediate fire. But just as Obama's defenders had
settled on a "profile in courage" story line, Obama backed off, lamely
parsing his earlier statements. His stance on the issue is now
fair game.
Mosque apologists have planted their flags on the
First Amendment, claiming that the Constitution's guarantee of freedom
of worship is absolute. But no constitutional rights can escape
balancing tests, and in this case, the issue is not the freedom of
Muslims to worship as they choose but the propriety of constructing a
gigantic mosque so close to the greatest scene of Allah-inspired mass
murder ever perpetrated in the country. It is not a constitutional
test case so much as a puffed-up zoning dispute. Mayor Michael R.
Bloomberg has maintained that the separation of church and state is at
stake, though the fact that the $100 million project probably will be
funded by sources closely linked to foreign governments raises the
question of whether the constitutional prohibition on state
establishment of religion only applies to the United States government.
Apparently Muslim-majority countries are free to open their checkbooks
to establish whatever sects they want on American soil, while
simultaneously administering the death penalty to those who convert from
Islam at home.
America's enemies clearly are delighted with the
prospect of an Islamic center near the old World Trade Center site.
The Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, whose cause Ground Zero Mosque
mastermind Feisal Abdul Rauf has supported, has backed the project.
There are high-fives being exchanged in terrorist chat rooms. One
user at the Alfalojah site gloated about hitting the "U.S. infidels in
their capital" and offered "congratulations to the Nation of Islam."
Other voices in the Muslim world are less triumphant. Seif
Naseer, professor of religion and philosophy at University of Al-Azhar
in Egypt, told the newspaper Al Masry Al Youm last week, "To build a
mosque on the rubble [of ground zero] involves bad faith." In the
same article, Bayoumi Abdel Muti of the Islamic Research Academy said,
"I reject the construction of a mosque in this place, because it would
link [the September 11, 2001 attacks] and Islam." Muti is simply
pointing out the obvious -- no matter what the proponents of the Cordoba
House say, however they attempt to justify their hated project, it will
always be perceived as the "Ground Zero Mosque."
Rauf, whose
whereabouts are unknown after he set off on a State Department-financed
mission to the Gulf states, claimed that his project's purpose was to
heal the breach between Islam and America. It backfired.
Even the clearly inflammatory projected opening date of Sept. 11, 2011,
shows how out of touch the backers of the project are with the
sentiments of the American people. Given that Rauf's stated
mission is clearly failing, he should concede that this was a bad idea
and build his mosque somewhere else. One report from the Israeli
newspaper Haaretz said an announcement that the project is being
abandoned is days away. If Mr. Rauf really wants to improve the
image of Islam in America, that would be the best thing he could do.
Obama Apologizes For Stupid Americans
Fred Dardick
says
it's amazing that Obama lacked the foresight to see that supporting the
construction of a $100 million mosque 2 blocks from Ground Zero,
something that 70% of Americans oppose, won't end well. But I
guess when your closest advisors are
Valerie Jarrett the
slumlord, Robert
Gibbels the clown, Rham
Emmanuel the communist, and Michelle Obama the millionaire's wife,
equating "religious freedom" with an Islamic cultural center whose
purpose is to promote Sharia law is the kind of progressive garbage you
get.
For you liberals who somehow got forwarded this column and
still don't know what Sharia law is, allow me to enlighten you. It is
the literal interpretation of Islam that leads to the widespread abuse
and enslavement of women. It's also called the reality of "that woman in
Iran who's waiting to see if she's going to get stoned to death for
adultery" rules. Who knows if she really committed adultery? In Islamic
societies all a man has to do to give his wife the proverbial dirt nap,
is simply claim she did.
Under Sharia law, men are the judge,
jury and executioners of women, and Obama apparently thinks Americans
are too stupid to know this. While Obama may be able to lawyer his way
around the Ground Zero mosque as a "religious tolerance" issue, the rest
of us know a load of BS when we see one.
Americans don't give a
hoot what the college professors and attorneys think. Allowing the
Islamist barbarians who keep their boots firmly planted on women's
throats and brought the 9/11 massacre to our shores, to build their Arch
de' Terrorism two blocks from Ground Zero can kiss our you know what.
Not only do Americans view the structure as anything but a bridge to
understanding, Islamists around the world will also rightly perceive the
mosque in a very different light than the simple "right to build a place
of worship." They will see it as spitting in the face of evil America
and hold it up as a shining example in their enslaved societies to
promote hatred of the West. It will become a "stupid Americans let us
build a mosque on their graves, so let's finish the job and kill them
all" kind of thing.
Ever wonder how the Islamic Dome of the Rock
in Jerusalem got built smack dab on top of the ancient Jewish temple
mount? I can promise you, it was no attempt to "build bridges" either
that put it there. It was more like "let's take over the Jews most
treasured religious site and plant a mosque on it to show them who's
boss." That's why Jews pray at the Western Wall, because if they tried
to visit the top of the temple mount, the Arabs would riot.
Every
time Obama speaks to Muslims, it's always how wonderful and
understanding Islam is compared to our knuckle dragging Judeo-Christian
customs. Rather than apologizing endlessly for America, and in this case
our opposition to the Ground Zero mosque, how about being honest for a
change, champ?
Over the past 100 years, America has brought peace
and prosperity to billions around the world, while at the same time
Muslims have been slaughtering and enslaving their neighbors, especially
women, wholesale. Talk about the war that never ends. Shia vs. Sunni
violence has been going on for centuries and, by the looks of Iraq, will
continue for centuries more.
The irony is if Obama, who clearly
feels his #1 job is reaching out to the Muslim world, had half a brain
in his communist head, he would be out there speaking forcefully against
Sharia law and educating his fellow Islamists to the dangers of a
literal interpretation of the Koran.
Who knows, maybe then Obama
could finally do some good for a change and save lives, rather than
destroy them.
Let's Just Appreciate The Great Obama
Noemie Emery
asks, just how thrilled and grateful were the Gulf State residents
to discover that the Obamas were giving them one whole day of their time
-- between Michelle's Spanish vacation and the family's real vacation,
up there in Martha's Vineyard, at a posh estate near their own kind of
people -- to dip their dainty toes in their oil-soaked waters?
And exactly how thrilled were the Democrats' candidates, already facing
headwinds of epic proportions, to wake up Saturday morning to find out
that Obama had come out in favor of a Mega Mosque near Ground Zero,
opposed by only two-thirds of American people, and added another to the
impressive collection of millstones -- health care, the stimulus, the
economy, Government Motors and a few other triumphs -- he had already
hung round their necks?
How brilliant are these strategists there
at the White House, and how canny at reading the mood of the people?
How wise is this strategy of giving them what they don't want, and then,
when they complain about it, telling them to shut up, and keep giving
them more?
How clever to tell them Missouri's vote against the
individual mandate meant "nothing," when it is only the fourth vote
against health care -- Virginia, New Jersey, and Massachusetts being the
others -- to be taken in less than a year?
What smarts does it
take to take a huge popular mandate, and shred it in no time? How
clever of them to hit on coalition destruction as a method of governing!
In that White House In The Sky, FDR and Reagan are probably seething
with envy. Why didn't they think of it first?
How brave is
Obama, to speak out as he did against the persecution of Muslims that is
sweeping the country, and has swept it in fact since Sept. 11, 2001?
Who can forget the riots that engulfed the whole country, the cross (and
Star of David) burnings outside the mosques and the homes of innocent
Muslims, the lynchings and hideous acts of unprovoked violence; the
demands of conservatives, Tea Partiers, and Sarah Palin enthusiasts that
Muslims and in fact all Arab-Americans, be confined in camps somewhere
out in the country -- Wasilla, for instance -- as Japanese-Americans had
been during the Second World War?
How lucky was it that Obama was
swept into office just as George W. Bush was about to put this vicious
scheme into practice? What would the world then have said about
that?
How wise too for Obama to come out for the mosque, enraging
survivors of those killed in the terror attacks and swing voters
everywhere, and then walk it back somewhat, ticking off the press and
the left wing of his party (but we repeat ourselves), who now feels a
little betrayed?
It's not as if Muslim outreach hasn't paid off
already: Iran has dropped its nuclear plans, and adopted a Good Neighbor
policy, which would never have happened if Bush were in office.
Can we all say a prayer over this?
Can we say a prayer too for
Obama, and all the mosque backers, for being sensitive to the right of
the would-be mosque builders to violate the sensitivities of the
victims' survivors, New Yorkers and Americans everywhere? And how
lucky are we to have Obama, brave enough to look at these friends and
relations, spouses and children, of people who died on Sept. 11, and
call them out for the bigots they are?
Ten Theses On Obama's Iftar Speech
Scott Johnson has a few
observations about Obama's comments at the White House Iftar dinner,
in front of a room full of Muslims, regarding the Ground Zero Megamosque
(GZM):
1. Obama's tone was not one calculated to
persuade. He both hectored and belittled those who oppose the
GZM. If you respectfully beg to differ with Obama, it is hard
to like the persona Obama had on display Friday night.
2.
Obama supported the GZM in his usual style, in which his position is
juxtaposed with a straw man of his choosing. It is an
unappealing rhetorical habit that is made even more unappealing when
applied to an issue on which people of good faith obviously differ
with him.
3. Obama's statement begs the question posed by
the GZM. No one has questioned the right of Muslims to
practice their religion the same as anyone else in this country.
Rather, those opposed to the GZM have asked the proponents, among
other things, to recognize and give way to the feelings of ordinary
Americans that a mosque does not belong at Ground Zero.
4.
Obama's remarks alluded to the right of private property involved in
the construction of the proposed GZM. We haven't previously
heard much about the right of private property from Obama.
5.
Obama's remarks emphasized the First Amendment rights of Muslims in
America. Gone was the living Constitution and the vaunted
"empathy" that may impel right (left) thinking judges to depart from
a fixed reading of constitutional rights. Whatever empathy
Obama expressed for the opponents of the GZM, it was an empathy that
had to give way in recognition of the First Amendment right of free
exercise. Now if Obama would just take the same approach to
the First Amendment right of free speech at issue in Citizens
United, for example, he might want to issue an apology to the
Supreme Court.
6. It's good for Muslims to build the GZM in
New York, but not for Jews to build apartments in Jerusalem.
Go figure.
7. In the remarks prefacing his formal speech,
Obama recognized Rep. Andre Carson in the audience, who (along with
Rep. Keith Ellison, whom he also called out) is one of the two
Muslims in Congress. We are still awaiting the the
enterprising journalist who can ferret out the branch of Islam that
comports with the tenets of the Democratic Party on the equality of
women, abortion, gay rights and all the rest.
8. By Saturday,
in the face of the response his remarks engendered, Obama was
backing off from his support for the GZM. He availed himself
of the option of emphasizing the straw man he had addressed.
We were to believe that he was only addressing the issue in the
abstract. Both Friday's statement and Saturday's backtracking
were remarkably unpersuasive.
9. Obama could have played a
constructive role in resolving the deeply divisive issues raised by
the GZM. Instead he chose to put on display his belief in his
superior nature.
10. With great reliability Obama stands
athwart the feelings of ordinary Americans. Indeed, he is a
much more ardent defender of the faith of Musims than he is of the
United States, of its history or of its people. Although Obama
framed his GZM remarks as a citizen and President of the United
States, he seems to think of himself less as a citizen of the United
States than as a citizen of the world and less as president than as
philosopher king.
In the 2008 campaign Obama presented himself as a
healing if not a redemptive figure. For reasons that are almost
completely understandable, many voters chose to believe in Obama's
self-presentation. Belief in Obama's persona conflicted with
voluminous evidence to the contrary that was there for anyone with eyes
to see.
These voters who bought Obama nevertheless quickly saw
through Obama's persona after the election. They now believe they
were sold a bill of goods, and they are of course right. Obama's
Iftar remarks suggest that Obama has no hesitation at all in reminding
voters how he pulled one over on them.
Hoisting Islam's Victory Flag Over The
Rubble Of 9/11
Syed Kamran Mirza says it will be a grave
mistake for America to allow this Mosque to be built so close to the
Ground Zero. Like it or not, this Mosque will be the iconic symbol
of Islamic victory over the WTC rubbles -- meaning humiliating defeat of
the infidel America by Islamic jihadis. The mosque will stand as
the most provocative insult and a slap on the face of Americans.
Islam, in real sense, is a religion of great deception. Imam
Feisal and his Islamic gang (ASMA) are lying big-time.
Well-meaning Western people have difficulty in understanding the real
purpose of this Mosque.
Mayor Bloomberg and the Downtown
Community, and all American leftist liberals have no idea why Islamists
are so hell-bent to erect this Islamic flag (Mosque) over the Rubbles of
the 9/11 terror attacks and the 3,000 innocent dead Americans.
They have no clue to the significance of the very name, "Cordova House,"
that Imam Feisal initially selected for this Mosque. Ancient Muslim
Jihadis invaded and occupied Spanish city of Cordoba where Muslims built
an elegant Mosque of Islamic world over the rubbles of a Catholic church
as a symbol of their triumph and victory Islam over Christianity.
The mosque over the rubbles of WTC at New York will clearly symbolizes
the triumph and victory of Allah's Jihadi soldiers (al-Qaeda) of the
9/11 attacks over the American infidels.
Such has been quite the
usual historical practices and fashions recorded in Islamic historical
documents. Whenever Prophet Muhammad and his disciples invaded and
defeated a non-Muslim nation or community, the first thing they did was
the erection of a Mosque in the defeated nation. Islamic Caliph
Omar invaded and occupied Jerusalem and immediately erected -- al-Aqsa
Mosque (Dome of Rock) over the rubbles of Jewish Temple Mount of
Solomon. Imam Feisal and company want to do exactly that.
Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, head of the American Society of Muslim
Advancement (ASMA), is outright deceiving New Yorkers with Taqiyah, the
Islamic tactics of lies and deceptions to advance the interest of Islam.
Islamic Allah duly permits Muslims to lie and deceive the infidels for
spreading Islam, the only religion accepted by Allah from all mankind
(Quran 3:85).
In his book written in 2004, Imam Feisal gave the
title in Arabic -- "The Call From the WTC Rubble: Islamic Da’wah From
the Heart of America Post-9/11" -- suggests Rauf is
humiliating/denigrating the loss of American life in calling it
"rubble," and by Islamic Da’wah (call) he intends to use 9/11 Mosque as
the springboard for proselytizing Islam in America. But in his
English title of the same book the title was -- "What’s Right with
America is What’s Right with Islam." This is exactly the technique
of Islamic deceptions used by so-called moderate Muslims only to fool
the western folks.
Here are some most important implications of this Mosque.

Rauf Boasts Says He Wrote Obama's Cairo
Speech
Pamela geller
says that one might think that Imam Feisal was merely showing off to
the Arab media: the braggadocio of a conceited megalomaniacal man with
delusions of grandeur -- so grand, in fact, that he intends to build of
mega mosque on the thousands of graves of innocent Americans slaughtered
in the largest Islamic attack (or any attack for that matter) on
American soil.
But it is not braggadocio. In audio tapes I
am currently reviewing, Imam Rauf's power reach is at the highest levels
imaginable. He is a grand jihadist, a master classman, operating
at the apex of power. The "blueprint" Imam Rauf refers to, is
essentially the US MUSLIM ENGAGEMENT -- Changing the Course." This
is a large-scale effort by the US government to open areas of
cooperation (dhimmitude) with the Islamic world in the political,
cultural and economic spheres.
Walid Shoebat's Interview on Fox News About Ground Zero Mosque
(03:46)
Bat Ye'or said of Obama's speech at the time:
Obama’s
Cairo discourse fits perfectly into his agenda. It flatters Muslim
sensibilities and expresses the Muslim view of historical tolerance and
cultural superiority over infidel civilizations. When Obama
mentioned the "Isra" event, he referred to Muhammad’s ascension to heaven and his
return in one night on a winged mule named Buraq. There he greets two
Muslim prophets, Moses and Isa [Jesus], who are not the biblical figures. The image used here by the American president as a symbolic interfaith
reconciliation between the three faiths is a meeting between three
Muslim prophets and not the figureheads of the three monotheistic
religions. Besides, the Isra event is not recognized by non-Muslims, and
it didn’t happen in Jerusalem, as this name does not appear once in the
Koran.
Obama’s speech is similar to many such
declarations by European leaders. The question it raises is how much the
West is ready to forgo truth and its basic principles in its
supplication for obtaining peace with Islam. Clearly, the full Islamization of the West is the quickest way to obtain it. Obama’s
political program in connection with the Alliance of Civilizations
conforms to an OIC strategy that has already been accepted by the European Union. In
history, this policy has a name: the
dhimmitude syndrome.

Why Obama Can't Help But Promote An Islamic
Agenda
Jeffrey Kuhner says Obama has revealed his true
nature. After 20 months in the Oval Office, he still remained a largely
unknown figure. A picture is coming into focus now, and it should
trouble all Americans. It is widely known that Obama is a
post-national progressive. Yet he is also a cultural Muslim who is
promoting an anti-American, pro-Islamic agenda. This is the real
meaning of his warm -- and completely needless -- embrace of the Ground
Zero Mosque.
At an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan at the White
House, Obama told Muslim-Americans that he supports the building of an
Islamic community center and mosque just two blocks away from where the
Twin Towers were destroyed and nearly 3,000 Americans were murdered on
Sept. 11, 2001. He later tried to back away from those comments.
Obama said he was defending the right of religious freedom but not the
"wisdom" of erecting the mosque.
Nonetheless, Obama has been
clear: In his view, the Ground Zero Mosque should be built. There
was no good practical reason even to comment on the issue. He had
been silent for weeks as the controversy gathered steam. The
overwhelming majority of the American people oppose the mosque --
especially the families of the Sept. 11 victims. Politically, it
is a loser -- for him and his party. Yet he could not keep his
mouth shut. Why?
Answer: For Obama, defending Islam has
been a key priority. In his famous speech in Cairo, Obama
apologized to the Muslim world for the alleged "sins" and "mistakes" of
America -- even though no country has done more to liberate Islamic
peoples than the United States, including campaigns in Bosnia, Kosovo,
Afghanistan and Iraq. His aim was to engage the Islamic world on
its terms and norms rather than defend America's values and national
interests.
Obama openly bragged about his "Muslim background"
and that his family had "followers of Islam." He spoke of his
youth in Indonesia, his study of the Koran and the call to Islamic
prayer. In short, he discovered his inner Muslim in an attempt to
ingratiate himself with the Arab street. The message was: I
understand you, and I will usher in a new era of Islamic-American
relations.
This Obama has done with a vengeance. He is the
most Muslim-friendly politician in the nation's history.
Obama Junks Democrats' Limo for Ground Zero
Mosque
John Drew
says I've been driving around this week with a
burning question in my mind: Why would Obama support a Ground Zero
Mosque (GZM) when it is opposed by 2/3rds of the American people?
Given the unpopularity of this mosque, it is as if the driver of the
Democrat party's new limo has just steered it into a junk yard crushing
machine.
I think the simplest answer is that Obama was being
loyal to his Muslim-American base -- not to African-Americans -- not to
his Democrat party -- and not to the American people. I have found
some supporting evidence for this thesis in an article in Politico on
August 15, 2010 in which Carol E. Lee
writes that an undisclosed
administration official says this was "purely" Obama's decision.
In Audacity of Hope, Obama writes that he is intent to assure Muslims
that he will stand with them during the ultimate crisis. Apparently,
Obama's brain decided that moment has arrived.
What is missing
from all the reporting on this issue is what an incredibly stupid thing
this was for Obama to do in terms of electoral politics. Obama
has ignited a firestorm of controversy that can only do damage to his
party's chances in November 2010, and to his own chances in November
2012. Already, Rasmussen
shows Republicans opening up a 12-point lead in
the generic polling results.
Obama's job approval rating,
according to Gallup, is at an all time low of 42%. On a scale of one to
ten for political stupidity, Obama's endorsement of the GZM is a ten. It
is the equivalent of running toward a burning car wreck and then
squeezing yourself into the trunk.
Since I knew Obama
while he was a radical, Marxist sophomore at Occidental College, I think
I have an unusual insight to share regarding this politically inept
decision. Based on my face-to-face talks with the young Obama, I'm
among those who do not see Obama as an intellectual genius.
I've
never gone along with those who think they can find evidence of a high
IQ in Obama's election as the editor of the Harvard Law Review
[Obama was not selected
based on grades, the historical criteria, but on the content of the
melanin in his skin], or his
role as an adjunct at the University of Chicago Law School, or his
success in winning office. Since I never bought into the inflated view
of Obama's intellectual skills, I was not surprised by his dependence on
the teleprompter. I do, however, think I know why he has not released
his undergraduate transcripts from Occidental College, or Columbia
University: his charismatic reputation for genius would not survive the
harsh reality of his ordinary grades.
Accordingly, I'm not
convinced that Obama's endorsement of the GZM was an example of a
political genius playing chess while we are all playing checkers. Instead, I see Obama's recklessness as more similar to a funny, stupid
criminal story where the bank robber submits his demand for cash on the
back of his own business card. I think the stress of his job is getting
to him. Under stress, Obama's thinking has become cloudy, impulsive and
irrational. Reviewing this last week, even Obama may now understand that
he cannot drive and should not have the keys.
The Leader Of All Muslims
MSN News
is reporting that a Pakistani minister wants Barack Obama to offer
Eid prayers at Ground Zero in New York and become the "Amir-ul-Momineen"
or Caliph of Muslims.
Minister of State for Industries Ayatullah
Durrani, who belongs to the ruling Pakistan People's Party, said the
upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festival, expected to be observed on September 11,
would be a "golden opportunity" for Obama to offer Eid prayers and
declare himself the leader of all Muslims.
"In this way, all the
problems of the Muslim world would be solved," Durrani told The Nation
newspaper.
Durrani, a former member of the Pakistan Ideological
Council, contended that the Muslim world is in "dire need" of a Caliph
and occupying this distinguished slot would provide Obama "exemplary
titles" like "Mullah Barack Hussain Obama" or "Allama Obama."
He
said: "The time is approaching fast. Barack Hussain Obama must act
now. This is a golden opportunity, Muslims badly need it."
Obama''s elevation to the Islamic Caliphate would be the "key to
success, he claimed, but did not offer any explanation for his remarks.
"Allama Obama" does have
certain ring to it.
Pak Minister Wants Obama To Become
Ameer-ul-Momineen
The Nation
is reporting a development that could be duly termed as one and only
of its kind. An incumbent Government’s Minister has urged Barrack
Obama to offer Eid prayers at the Ground Zero Mosque site, and become "Ameer-ul-Momineen"
of the Muslim Ummah.
Minister of State for Industries and
former member Pakistan Ideological Council Ayatullah Durrani called The
Nation on Wednesday to register his demand made to Obama.
"The
coming Eid would expectedly be observed on 9/11, this a golden
opportunity for President Obama to offer Eid prayers at Ground Zero and
become Amir-ul-Momineen or Caliph of Muslims. In this way, all the
problems of Muslim World would be solved," he thought.
Durrani
argued that Muslim World was in "dire need" of a Caliph and the
distinguished slot of Caliphate would earn Obama the exemplary titles of
what he termed, "Mullah Barrack Hussain Obama" or "Allama Obama."
"The time is approaching fast. Barrack Hussain Obama must act now.
This is a golden opportunity, Muslims badly need it," he added, saying
that the elevation of Obama to Muslim’s Caliphate would be the "key to
success."
For a guy that
claims to be a "committed Christian," Obama is certainly perceived as a
Muslim by other Muslims, and don't forget that Calypso Louie referred to
Obama as the messiah (video).
And here
is an article,
written by a Muslim, declaring Obama as "My Muslim President."
So, who
you gonna believe, the ummah or Obama?
White House Hosting (Another) Ramadan Feast
For Muslims
Creeping Sharia
points to a classic White House news dump -- on the Saturday of a
long, holiday weekend.
Yet another Islamic event at the White
House to continue celebrating the Month of Jihad (according
to Muslims). Take the hint at what this "Next Generation" gathering
is signaling. Hat tip
BareNakedIslam.
The administration’s marking of the Muslim
holy month of Ramadan continues Tuesday when the State Department
hosts an event geared toward young Muslims, and an Iftar dinner with
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Obama hosted an
Iftar meal breaking the day’s Ramadan fast on Aug. 13. In his
speech, he supported the right of the Muslim community to build the
planned controversial mosque two blocks from Ground Zero, comments
that touched off a firestorm including Senate Majority Leader Harry
Reid (D-Nev.) breaking with Obama and saying the Islamic center
should be built elsewhere.
Tuesday’s dinner will feature a
video address from Clinton. Special Representative to Muslim
Communities Farah Pandith will host a special "Generation Change"
event before the dinner with speakers and discussion groups.
"Consistent with the Secretary’s commitment to engaging the 'next
generation' at the grassroots level, this year’s Iftar will feature
many guests chosen because they represent some of the best and most
innovative American Muslim leaders under the age of 30," the State
Department said in a press release Saturday.
Yeah!
The next generation of jihaddis.
Remember, Obama
cancelled the 2010 White House National Day of Prayer ceremony.
The National Day of Prayer has historically been the first Thursday in
May, since Harry S. Truman put it into effect in 1952, but wasn’t
official until the days of Ronald Reagan.
For
eight years, the White House held a celebration on the National Day of
Prayer, and last year Obama cancelled the celebration, and the ceremony
has been cancelled for 2010. In 2009, CNN reported that Obama was
toning down the National Day of Prayer by cancelling the White House
ceremony, but that the official day was not cancelled.
There Is No Moderate Islam
"There is no moderate or immoderate
Islam. Islam is Islam and that’s it."
No, the Prime Minister of Turkey said it, on Turkish
television.
Recep Tayyip
Erdoğan is the leader of Adalet ve Kalkinma Partisi (AKP, or Justice
and Development Party), and has been Prime Minister since 2003.
His party is an Islamic party, but is considered "moderate" as such
things go, at least by the wishful-thinking dhimmi politicians and media
pundits of the West.
Apparently, however, he’s sick of the
"moderate" label being bandied about. He’d like to remind
everybody that, just as there is only one Allah, there is only one
Islam. None of this "moderate" crap for him!
Speaking at
Kanal D TV’s Arena program, PM Erdoğan commented on the term "moderate
Islam", often used in the West to describe AKP and said:
"These descriptions are very ugly, it is
offensive and an insult to our religion. There is no moderate
or immoderate Islam. Islam is Islam and that’s it."
And, who said
the following?
"Those who
know nothing of Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war.
Those [who say this] are witless."
and
"Islam says: Whatever good there is
exists thanks to the sword and in the shadow of the sword!
People cannot be made obedient except with the sword! The
sword is the key to Paradise, which can be opened only for Holy
Warriors!"
Bridget Johnson
says Obama stressed that America was not at war with Islam as he
decried the "sorry band of men" who attacked the nation nine years ago
in memorial ceremonies at the Pentagon on Saturday.
"The
perpetrators of this evil act didn't simply attack America; they
attacked the very idea of America itself -- all that we stand for and
represent in the world," Obama said. "And so the highest honor we
can pay those we lost, indeed our greatest weapon in this ongoing war,
is to do what our adversaries fear the most -- to stay true to who we
are, as Americans; to renew our sense of common purpose; to say that we
define the character of our country, and we will not let the acts of
some small band of murderers who slaughter the innocent and cower in
caves distort who we are."
One hundred and twenty-five people in
the Pentagon were killed when hijacked American Airlines Flight 77
plowed into the side of the building. Fifty-nine were killed on plane.
Obama spoke at the Pentagon ceremonies while first lady Michelle
Obama spoke along with former first lady Laura Bush at the site in
Shanksville, Pa., where 40 were killed on United Flight 93 when
passengers overtook the hijackers and drove the plane into the ground.
Vice President Joe Biden joined remembrance ceremonies at Ground
Zero, where the World Trade Center towers were felled. More than
2,600 were killed in the attacks on the landmark buildings, and 147 died
on the two planes that struck the towers. The victims of all the attacks
hailed from 80 different countries.
With the backdrop of recent
controversies that overshadowed the run-up to the ninth anniversary -- a
mosque project that has drawn bitter protests near Ground Zero and a
Florida pastor's plans to burn Qurans that sparked deadly protests in
Afghanistan -- Obama implored Americans to "not sacrifice the liberties
we cherish or hunker down behind walls of suspicion and mistrust."
"They may wish to drive us apart, but we will not give in to their
hatred and prejudice," he said. "For Scripture teaches us to 'get
rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with
every form of malice.'
"They may seek to spark conflict between
different faiths, but as Americans we are not -- and never will be -- at
war with Islam. It was not a religion that attacked us that
September day -- it was al-Qaeda, a sorry band of men which perverts
religion. And just as we condemn intolerance and extremism abroad,
so will we stay true to our traditions here at home as a diverse and
tolerant nation.
"We champion the rights of every American,
including the right to worship as one chooses -- as service members and
civilians from many faiths do just steps from here, at the very spot
where the terrorists struck this building."
Obama said that "we
will keep alive the virtues and values that make us who we are and who
we must always be."

National Day of Community Service & Soup Kitchens
I don't know what Barack Obama
is, but I know he's not an American.
He
doesn't think like an American.
He
doesn't talk like an American.
he
doesn't act like an American.
I have
no idea if Barack Obama is a Muslim, but what I DO KNOW is that he's
more sympathetic to Islam than he is to the United States of America.
Obama, The Dhimmi
Carol A. Taber says The slumlord Imam Feisal
Abdul Rauf has spent the past several weeks lecturing us that if we
don't allow him to build a mosque at Ground Zero, we will be provoking
Islamic violence. "Our national security now hinges on how we
negotiate this, how we speak about it, and what we do," he intoned on
CNN.
"[T]he headline in the Muslim world will be
Islam is under attack in America, this will strengthen the radicals
in the Muslim world, help their recruitment, this will put our
people -- our soldiers, our troops, our embassies, our citizens --
under attack in the Muslim world and we have expanded and given and
fueled terrorism."
Obama has echoed this message with regard to the
near-burning of the Koran by Pastor Terry Jones last week. He said
that burning a Koran would provoke "serious violence" against Americans
in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and that it would provide a "recruitment
bonanza for al-Qaeda." Whether the success of a "strong horse"
building a triumphal mosque/community center on the ruins of Ground Zero
also would be used as a "recruitment bonanza for al-Qaeda" was not
mentioned. This is odd, because everyone who knows an atom about
the Islamist mindset knows this interpretation of the world to be
absolutely, although not uniquely, theirs.
It's predictable
enough to hear this
Americans-exercising-their-rights-causes-terrorism-so-it's-their-fault
message from a terror-supporter like Rauf, who considers it his
obligation to push America into dialogue with terrorist groups like
Hamas. But from Obama, our nation's alleged Commander-in-Chief,
whose most important responsibility is to protect American citizens from
"enemies both foreign and domestic," this message is disgustingly
candy-assed.
As Obama is fond of saying, this was a teachable
moment...or it could have been. It was not a moment to teach the
Muslim world about how we value the Koran or to teach Americans about
how or why we should respect Islam. It could have been a teachable
moment for the Muslim world. It was a chance for Obama to
demonstrate to the Muslim world that we will not back down in the face
of psychotic ragefests, that we will continue to exercise our rights as
we see fit, and -- the truest lesson in tolerance -- that we will allow
people to commit offensive acts with which we disagree even if we
disagree with them.
Instead, Obama shilled on behalf of the
Islamists yet again. He made excuses for primitives across the
globe to engage in their favorite party game: berserk, vein-popping
raging; burning American flags; and blowing up such worthless items as
human beings of all stripes and 7th-century statues of Buddha.
Obama justified their violence. He was the ridiculous third-grade
teacher who watches two kids call each other names, then observes as one
of the kids breaks a coke bottle over the other one's head, and then
finally condemns the bleeding-from-his-eyeballs kid for having engaged
in the great unwashed, uncivilized act of name-calling.
"The bottom line is this -- if the Koran
is burned, our troops will be in greater danger. It’s that
simple…"
Austin Hill
says that remark came from a certain military officer (an officer
who will remain unnamed here), during a special press briefing I
attended regarding upcoming foreign troop deployments. The news of
a threatened "Koran burning ceremony" to be held in Florida was being
widely reported at the time, and a journalist had asked the Officer for
comment.
In response to the Officer’s comment, I followed up by
asking "if Americans didn’t exercise their Second Amendment rights,
would the troops be safer?"
"With all due respect, I think
you’re politicizing the matter, sir," the Officer said to me, "and I
have no further comment…"
It was appropriate that the Officer
had "no further comment." But I wasn’t politicizing anything.
I was asking a very serious, sobering, and legitimate question, a
question that all Americans should be asking in the face of the Obama
Administration’s disposition towards Islamic Radicalism.
Since
the inauguration, Barack Obama has articulated a vision of "the Muslim
Word," as he calls it, and practitioners of the Muslim faith, that
conveniently ignores what is frighteningly obvious to most Americans:
that some of the most horrific and gruesome murders and terrorist acts
on the planet these days are committed by people who call themselves
Muslims, and claim to be following the edicts of the Koran.
Obama set this pattern of denial in motion back in June of 2009, when he
made good on his campaign promise of delivering a speech in the capitol
city of a predominantly Muslim nation.
Speaking at Cairo
University in that month, Obama said, in part, "I've come here to Cairo
to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the
world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based
upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be
in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles
-- principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all
human beings…"
Five months after that speech, the United States
sustained what previously may have been unthinkable -- a terrorist
attack at an Army base in Texas, all at the hands of an Army Major who
was -- yes, you guessed it -- a Muslim. Major Nidal Hasan, a
Medical Doctor in the U.S. Army, shot and killed 13 other Army soldiers
and wounded 30 other people. He claimed that he was operating in
allegiance to the Koran, and his Muslim faith.
As Obama spoke at
the Memorial Service for the dead soldiers, he referred to the murders
as "craven acts," and insisted that "no just and loving God looks upon
then with favor." But how are we to take these remarks?
Was Obama insinuating that the "God" of Islam is not "just" and not
"loving?" This proposition is doubtful. More likely, Obama’s
remarks were intended to suggest that Maj. Hasan wasn’t really behaving
as a "real Muslim" would, so, therefore, these "craven acts" were no
indictment on Islam.
But since the massacre at Fort Hood, we
have sustained two other terrorist attacks on American soil -- the
"underwear bomber" case on Christmas Day last year, and the effort to
blow up Times Square in Manhattan last Spring. Both of these
incidents were terrorist attacks (despite Homeland Security Secretary
Janet Naplitano’s claim that "The
system worked" last December -- it did not), attacks that were both
fortunately thwarted before they could be carried out to full fruition.
All three of these acts were carried-out by people who called
themselves Muslims. And if these terrorists each called themselves
a "Muslim," who am I -- and who is Barack Obama -- to insist that they
are not?
Obama’s timid stance with "the Muslim World" stands in
stark contrast to this undeniable reality: In America, we are a very
diverse bunch, but we generally get along with each other pretty well.
We are Christians and Jews and Secularists. We are
theologically conservative Protestants and Catholics and Jews, and we
are theologically liberal Protestants and Catholics and Jews. We
are Atheists and Buddhists and Mormons and Bahai’s and completely
irreligious. "Church" and "synagogue" and "temple" happen every
weekend in America, as do sporting events and naps and work and play.
As Americans we go about these activities according to our own wishes,
being disagreeable with each other at times, yes, but still living
together and getting along.
But then, there is this one
particular group in America and around the world that can’t seem to play
by America’s "we all get along" terms. According to Obama, our
lives are jeopardized if we so much as state the obvious about this
group.
If Obama continues with his denial of the obvious, he
will continue to alienate America, and weaken our nation abroad.
One thing is clear -- before Obama
we weren't talking about Islam and Muslims all the time -- Obama has
already done a lot to advance Islam in America -- especially for a
"mainline" Christian.
Muslim Prayers In The Streets Of New York
John Cashman
says this is New York City on Madison Ave, not Baghdad, or
Islamabad, or Mecca, or Cairo, its New York City!
Imagine a Christmas Mass at a local church in NYC
that was over-crowded. Would they be able to fill the streets and
stop traffic?
Of course we know the answer is a resounding, NO!
A Christian Nation cannot put up a Christmas scene of the baby Jesus
in a public place, but the Muslims can stop normal traffic every Friday
afternoon by worshiping in the streets. Something is happening in
America that is reminiscent of what is happening in Europe. This
is political correctness
gone crazy!
These are accurate pictures of every Friday afternoon
in several locations throughout NYC where there are mosques with a large
number of Muslims that cannot fit into the mosque. They fill the
surrounding streets, facing east for a couple of hours between about 2 &
4 p.m.
Besides the one at 42nd St and Madison Ave, there is
another, even larger group, at 94th St & 3rd Ave, etc., etc.
This is in New York City on Madison Avenue, not in
France or the Middle East or Yemen or Kenya.
Is there a message
here? Yes, there is, and they are claiming America for Allah.
If we don’t wake up soon, we are going to "politically correct"
ourselves right out of our own faiths, homes, and country!
This is an exercise of power -- not
religion. It's a scam. The Muslims overload their mosques and pour
out into the streets. It's Islamization,
right before our eyes. It's how they intend to conquer America.
This
is coming here if we don't stop it -- and stop it soon.
An Imam Tells It Like It Is
There
it is. "The east and the west shall be governed by
the Sharia," and "the Flag of Islam will one day fly over the White
House."
And that
Daisy Rauf is a liar. She claims that, "Islam is a religion of
pluralism...," but the Imam sets her straight.
Immigration, Islamization,
political correctness,
and diversity
are their current weapons of choice. When there are sufficient
numbers of Muslims here, the violence will commence.
In the
meantime, Barack Obama will continue to be Islam's biggest booster and
facilitator.
Obama Has Undercut U.S. Prestige
Brian Fitzpatrick
says Obama's olive branch approach to overseas issues has crippled
America's effort in the war on Islamist terrorism and undercut the
nation's prestige, according to an expert on international terrorism and
terror funding.
"From traveling and being in touch with many
Europeans and people from around the world, I know that the status of
the U.S. has really diminished," said Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, founder of
the American Center for Democracy. "It's still a very powerful
country, but the current policies are not serving it well. We are
a target for the Chinese, and they see us as more vulnerable since Obama
took over. I think the Russians think so, too. I don't speak
for Israel, but it's my impression that many Israelis don't think the
U.S. is an ally like it has been. They are very wary," Ehrenfeld
added.
"The Palestinians have declared again and again in their
Arabic language propaganda that Israel doesn't have the right to exist.
Even their children's television shows are filled with programs calling
for jihad and killing Jews. Yet Obama persists in believing that
you can reason with people who are prepared to kill you, but the
Palestinians, as always, come to Washington saying it's Israel that
doesn't want peace, and the administration goes along with the charade,
blaming the Israelis."
Far from winning friends in Arab
countries, the Obama approach toward Israel is winning only contempt,
according to Ehrenfeld. "They view us as fools. They think
the West is corrupt and greedy, and therefore they can take advantage of
it."
Asked what America ought to be doing in the war against
Islamist terror, Ehrenfeld responded: "What war? We're not at war
with radical Islam. If we were, we'd designate Saudi Arabia as a
terrorism-supporting country and be serious about Iran. …We'd
limit contributions from Saudi Arabia to organizations here, and go
after the Conference of Islamic States OIC, whose mandate is to liberate
Jerusalem through jihad."
Ehrenfeld said the Saudis are the
world's greatest financial backers of global Islamist terror groups.
According to the expert, the Saudis are bankrolling efforts to spread
Islam, by means both peaceful and violent, throughout the world and
particularly in the U.S. "In America, they're funding NGOs,
mosques, lobbies in Washington, universities, and fund students and
faculty to go there. They advance political correctness, to stop
people from saying anything critical about Islam or Saudi Arabia."
"Most of the mosques in the U.S. preach Wahhabism [the
fundamentalist Islamic doctrine that calls Muslims to spread the
dominion of Shariah law by word or by sword], and most are funded by
Saudi Arabia, it is a mainstream position," among American Muslims.
"There are plenty of radical Muslim organizations in the United
States. They're creating a basis for converting more Americans to
Islam, and their ability to incite people to commit terrorist acts for
jihad has not been diminished."
Ehrenfeld said the West's whole
approach toward fighting Islamic terror, with its focus on fighting the
Taliban in Afghanistan, has to change. "The bigger problem is
Islam itself. … Sixty percent of the Quran and the primary texts of
Islam deal with the Kafir (infidels)."
Ehrenfeld called for
Western countries to reject Islamist pressure to allow Shariah to
supersede Western democratic laws. "There were periods when
Muslims lived peacefully with others, when they couldn't take advantage
and force themselves on others. That's no longer the case."
The Jihad Against A Seattle Cartoonist
Robert Spencer
says it
should be front-page news in every newspaper in the country: Seattle
cartoonist Molly Norris has given up her job, her home, and even her
identity because of death threats for Islamic supremacists. That
Islamic jihadists can force an American citizen into hiding for
exercising her freedom of speech is bad enough; that her cause has
aroused only indifference from the media and the nation’s leading
officials is even worse.
Norris was a popular cartoonist for the
Seattle Weekly. Her life changed forever a few months ago when she
announced "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day" on Facebook. It was a
lark, but with a serious point about violent threats and intimidation:
if Islamic supremacists were threatening to murder European cartoonists
Kurt Westergaard and Lars Vilks because of their cartoons of Muhammad,
and anyone else who dared to draw him, then if everyone drew him, the
thugs couldn’t possibly kill us all, could they?
And now Norris
herself has become a living illustration of how right her point was in
the first place, and yet the political and media elites are not standing
with her. "On the insistence of top security specialists at the
FBI," the Seattle Weekly explained, "she is, as they put it, 'going
ghost': moving, changing her name, and essentially wiping away her
identity. She will no longer be publishing cartoons in our paper
or in City Arts magazine, where she has been a regular contributor.
She is, in effect, being put into a witness-protection program–except,
as she notes, without the government picking up the tab."
This is
in sharp contrast to the Ground Zero mosque Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who
is receiving protection from the New York City Police Department because
of threats he has allegedly received. In even sharper contrast,
Gainsville, Florida authorities have announced that they plan to bill
the abortive Koran-burner Terry Jones $180,000 for security costs for
the Koran-burning event that he ultimately called off after a blizzard
of international publicity, all negative -- despite the fact that they
never bothered to warn Jones beforehand that he would be footing the
bill.
Molly Norris’s cause should be taken up by all free people
-- not least, Barack Obama. Obama could have explained that human
beings control their own reactions to things. If Muslims chose yet
again to riot and murder because of Terry Jones or Molly Norris, that
would be a choice they would be making out of an unlimited array of
other choices. Instead, Western authorities have fallen into the
Islamic supremacists' trap and are starting to behave in just the way
they want them to: thinking that they must not do certain things,
because if they do, there will be violence from Muslims. Yet that
violence is in every case solely the responsibility of the perpetrator,
not of anyone else.
Obama could have said that the idea that
Molly Norris would have to give up her career and live in hiding because
of cartoons is unconscionable. He could have told the Islamic
world that cartoons depicting Muhammad did not harm Muslims, and that
the willingness of some Muslims to commit murder over such depictions
was the only thing that made people care to draw Muhammad in the first
place.
Obama could also have said that to threaten people with
death because of cartoons was destructive to free speech and hence to
free societies -- and as such, it was something that the U.S. would do
everything it could to resist. He could have announced that Molly
Norris and others who were threatened for exercising their freedom of
speech would be given full round-the-clock protection -- and that if
violent protests and riots over cartoons broke out in areas where
American troops were deployed, those troops would put down those riots
and protect the innocent to the fullest possible extent.
Apparently when Muslims behave with violent irrationality, Obama thinks
that it is entirely the responsibility of non-Muslims to clean up the
mess they make. In these dark days we don’t have any leaders who
will stand up for the freedom of expression, explaining its importance
as a bulwark against tyranny. Molly Norris, wherever she is, and
the embattled free people of the United States, deserve better.
Obama Goes Home
Kendra Marr
is reporting that Barack Obama will celebrate "Hero’s Day," an
Indonesian holiday on November 9th during his stop in Indonesia.
Hero’s Day commemorates the defeat of British and Dutch troops to
win the nation’s independence in 1945. Obama will lay a wreath at
a cemetery.
The next day Obama will visit the Istiqlal Mosque in
Jakartaone, of the world’s largest mosques. Islam is the dominant
religion in populous Indonesia, making it the world’s largest
Muslim-majority nation.
White House national security aide Ben
Rhodes said the visit is standard protocol for Obama, who visited the
famed Blue Mosque while on a visit to Turkey shortly after his
inauguration. "When he visited Muslim-majority countries as
president, he has often visited the most prominent mosques. The
president is very much looking forward to this opportunity," Rhodes
said.
Obama will also make a speech in a yet-to-be-determined
venue, discussing the the "close ties" of the two countries, as well as
American outreach to the Muslim world and Indonesia’s success as a
democracy. He’ll also touch on his own childhood in Indonesia
where Obama attended the
mosque and studied the Quran in its native Arabic for several years.
It’ll be a big crowd, as Obama is "very popular" because of his
biography and policies, Rhodes said, and added, "He wanted to have the
opportunity to reach more Indonesian people." And it’ll be "a bit
of a check-in" with the Muslim world after the president’s much-lauded
speech at Cairo University in June 2009.
There no doubt that Obama is "very
popular" because of his biography. After all, the
Indonesian title of Obama's book is, "Jihad: From Jakarta To The
Whitehouse."
Rhodes confirms the fact that visiting
mosques is standard protocol for Obama. "The president is very
much looking forward to this opportunity" -- a truly believable
statement.
One of
the first things Obama did when he occupied the Oval Office is to send
the bust of Winston Churchill back to England, and now he's going to
celebrate the defeat of the British. More evidence that he is
still miffed at the British for their treatment of his grandfather,
a Mau-Mau spy.
And, you
can measure that "American outreach to the Muslim world..." in billions
of U. S. tax-payer dollars.
The Fruits Of Obama's Muslim Outreach
David Limbaugh
says, I
realize it's unfair and, according to some, even racist to hold Obama
accountable for his failed economic policies and cynical campaign
promises, but could we at least raise a question or two about his
foreign policy boasts?
Was it not Obama who said that President
George W. Bush had tarnished our image in the world and that he would
restore it by reaching out to the Muslim world and not "engaging in the
same sort of cowboy diplomacy as George Bush"?
Obama wasn't
alone. The conventional wisdom on the left, both at home and
abroad, was that America's policies were partially responsible for
incurring the wrath of jihadists that led to the 9/11 attacks and that
President Bush's aggressive response to the attacks had exacerbated the
problem.
Shortly after Obama was elected, Archbishop Emeritus of
Cape Town and 1984 Nobel Peace Prize recipient Desmond Tutu said that
Obama's very election had turned America's (abysmal) global image on its
head. He wrote in The Washington Post, "A few days after the Sept.
11, 2001, terrorist attacks, we had our first shock, hearing your
president respond not with the statesmanlike demeanor we had come to
expect from a U.S. head of state but like a Western gunslinger."
Tutu then proceeded to list the many alleged sins of the United States
under Bush: our abuse of prisoners, rendition, torture, "hostility to
the Kyoto Protocol on greenhouse gases," our refusal to assent to the
authority of the International Criminal Court, and "the arrogant
unilateralism (we have) employed in declaring to be enemies any
countries (we) deemed 'against us' because they were not 'for us.'"
The "Bush administration," wrote Tutu, "has riled people everywhere.
Its bully-boy attitude has sadly polarized our world."
Reading
this makes me wonder whether Tutu has been one of Obama's speechwriters.
All the talking points are there. Could anyone read Tutu's words,
which should be revolting to patriotic Americans, and deny that they
mirror Obama's both on the campaign trail and during office? It's
all there, from the cowboy references to torture to unilateralism to
rendition and prisoner abuse to environmental wackoism to America's
"arrogance."
The thinking clearly is that not only did America
not have a right to respond aggressively to the unprovoked terrorist
attacks on our soil but also doing so has been counterproductive and
that reversing the Bush policies would strengthen our position and make
us safer. That Obama fully embraced and implemented this
philosophy cannot be disputed.
I suppose the left's logic is that
though Muslims are very peaceful, you'd better not provoke them or
they'll turn into jihadists, which is what gave rise to 9/11. So
we shouldn't have further provoked the radicals by declaring war on them
following their unprovoked attack because that just made them angrier
and caused more peaceful Muslims to join their ranks.
Thus, Obama
eagerly began his quixotic expedition of Muslim outreach, telling the
world's Muslims in Cairo how bad America had been and how much America
owed Muslims for their contribution to the advancement of American
civilization. He apologized elsewhere for America's "arrogance," "dismissiveness,"
"derisiveness" and "disengagement."
Speaking of arrogance, White
House press secretary Robert Gibbs announced that simply through his
world apology tour, Obama had "changed the image of America around the
world" and made the United States "safer and stronger."
In fact,
as I note in "Crimes Against Liberty," while the administration
continues to promote the dangerous fable that America is safer under its
retreat-and-surrender approach to the war, "Americans are beginning to
notice ... that incidents of terrorism are rising on U.S. soil."
Indeed, Americans are less safe not only at home but also overseas.
Did you see Monday's headlines? From the Drudge Report alone, we
saw these telltale zingers: "Airport Lobbies Possible Terror Targets in
European Plot, Official Says," "Ahmadinejad: USA has 'dragged the world
in mud' ... calls for leaders to be 'buried,'" "Muslim Leader On ABC's
This Week: Islam Will Conquer the White House."
Saner minds
understand that jihadists are not jihadists because of America's tough
interrogation techniques or because we didn't Mirandize them on the
battlefield. They respect not groveling, but strength, as
witnessed by Osama bin Laden's encouragement to launch the 9/11 attacks
based on his perception that we were a paper tiger.
Others, such
as Obama, will continue to believe their lying eyes as they pursue
ludicrous and outrageous unconstitutional policies, such as converting
NASA into an international vehicle for Muslim outreach. Just when
you thought things couldn't get crazier at the White House.
Muslim Leaders Approve Obama's Jihad
Remarks
The Times of India
is reporting that Muslim activists and opinion-makers on Sunday
widely approved of Barack Obama's remarks on jihad without hiding their
reservations about the US policy towards the current turmoil in the
Islamic world.
They sought to draw a line between the
real meaning
of "jihad" and the current spell of violence targeting the innocent.
In their opinion Obama's comments on jihad at Mumbai's St. Xavier's
College earlier in the day was a clear attempt at separating the violent
campaign from the basic concept of jihad.
"Jihad can in no way
assume the form of violence against the innocent and those who are
perpetrating such violent acts have done great disservice to Islam,"
said Kamal Farooqi, a prominent member of the All Muslim Personal Law
Board. "To that extent President Obama is correct," he said.
Farooqi agreed with Obama that certain elements had distorted the
image of Islam by resorting to violence in the name of faith.
Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind leader Maulana Masood Madani said that Obama
"correctly" understood that wrong impressions about jihad had been
created in the wake of distortions of the concept by certain elements.
"It's true that jihad has been wrongly interpreted by some people;
however, I don't know by what yardsticks the US brands someone a jihadi
or non-jihadi," said Madani, a Rajya Sabha member.
The same view
was shared by Congress MP Rashid Alvi who forcefully argued that Islam
could in no way be judged by the activity of terrorist organizations
like al-Qaida or Lashkar-e-Taiba.
"He is right -- jihad
originally meant struggle against injustice, it does not mean killing
the innocent," Alvi said.
He said that the current crisis facing
Islam had been set off by the activity of a small group. "There is
nothing wrong with the religion, Obama is right," he said.
Well, Sweetness & Light
says to turn to the Oxford English Dictionary to see how the term
has been understood through the history of the English language:
jihad [Arab. jihad struggle, contest, spec.
one for the propagation of Islam.]
A religious war
of Muslims against unbelievers in Islam, inculcated as a duty by the
Koran and traditions.
The Oxford
English Dictonary’s first quote for usage dates back to 1869.
There has never been any doubt at the meaning of this all.
There has
never been any doubt about the meaning of this term until lately.
Obama Reaches Out To Muslims (Again)
Kara Rowland, reporting On Obama's Indonesian
visit,
says that Barack Obama, building on his previous efforts to reach
out to the Muslim world, stressed that the United States "is not and
will never be at war with Islam."
"We do have a choice: We can choose to be
defined by our differences, and give in to a future of suspicion and
mistrust, or we can choose to do the hard work of forging common
ground, and commit ourselves to the steady pursuit of progress....in
the 17 months that have passed [since the Cairo speech] we have made
some progress, but much more work remains to be done."
Obama's address, delivered at the University of
Indonesia in Jakarta, represented a follow-up to his
absurd speech in Cairo last year, in which he drew the wrong lessons
from this history, and proceeded from some false assumptions, that if
carried through to their logical conclusion, will make the situation
between Islam and the west worse.
While reaching out to Muslims,
Obama found time to
blast Israel for building housing in Jerusalem, and he made no
mention of the Indonesian
genocide in East Timor.
First Muslim Sends Greetings
AFP
is reporting that Barack Obama and his wife Michelle extended good
wishes Monday to the world's 1.57 billion Muslims ahead of the Eid al-Adha
religious holiday.
Earlier, around two million white-robed
Muslims converged at Mount Arafat in Saudi Arabi as the hajj, the
world's largest annual pilgrimage, peaked at the site of the Prophet
Mohammed's last sermon.
"Michelle and I extend our greetings for
a happy Eid al-Adha to Muslims worldwide and wish safe travels to those
performing hajj," Obama said in a statement.
"This year, nearly
three million pilgrims from more than 160 countries -- including the
United States -- have gathered in Mecca and neighboring sites to perform
the hajj rituals and stand together in prayer."
In his message,
the usurper said the religious holiday serves as "a reminder of the
shared values and the common roots of three of the world's major
religions."
And, what did these prayerful Muslims do in Saudi
Arabia?
Hundreds of thousands of "moderate" Muslims chanted
"Death to America" and "Death to Israel" -- what else?
Weasel Zippers
reports "God is the Greatest," "Death to Israel" and "Death to
America" were among slogans chanted by the masses in unison as they
gathered in the Desert of Arafat near Mecca, where more than 2 million
Muslims have gathered.
Qazi-Asgar read a message from the
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution in
Iran, who told Muslims to engage in "struggle and resistance against the
aggressions of the United States and the Zionist regime."
"Today
the Zionist regime is no more the undefeatable monster of 30 years ago,"
he said. "The United States and the West are also no more the
unquestionable decision-makers of the Middle East that they were two
decades ago. Today the arrogant United States, the self-styled
commandant of the Islamic region and the real sponsor of the Zionist
regime, is bogged down in the quagmire of its own making in
Afghanistan."
He began his speech by saying that "the growing
wave of Islamic awakening heralds a glorious future for the Muslim
community… The enemy’s extensive propaganda campaigns to promote
Islamophobia are hasty attempts at sowing discord among Islamic faiths
and fueling factional prejudices."
Khamenei continued, "No virtue
is better than rescuing nations from the demonic clutches of hegemonic
powers, and no vice is worse than depending on and serving hegemonic
powers," referring to the United States.

Hajji Sarah Prayed For Obama To Be Muslim
AFP
is reporting that Obama's Kenyan grandmother says she prayed during
a hajj pilgrimage to Mecca for Obama to convert to Islam, a newspaper
revealed on Thursday.
"I prayed for my grandson Barack to convert
to Islam," said Sarah Omar, 88, in an interview with Al-Watan Saudi
daily held in Jeddah after she had performed hajj.
The paper said
that Omar was in Saudi Arabia on pilgrimage along with her son, Obama's
uncle Saeed Hussein Obama, and four of her grandchildren.
Omar
told the newspaper that she could only discuss hajj matters and would
not comment on Obama's politics.
The family appeared to have been
hosted by the Saudi government for hajj. Saeed thanked King Abdullah for
his "kind hospitality," the paper said.
US opinion polls in
August revealed that roughly one in five Americans believe that Obama is
a Muslim, a claim categorically denied by the White House that has
maintained that he is a "committed Christian."
But, but, but . . . The New York
Times says
he's Muslim.
"Thank Allah for Obama’s Presidency"
AhlulBayt News Agency
is reporting
that Barack Obama has created great hope in the Islamic world, the Saudi
King Abdullah told a top US official that he should restore America's
credibility in the Muslim countries, according to a leaked State
Department cable by WikiLeaks .
This was communicated personally
by the King, to John Brennan,
Obama's counter terrorism advisor, when the latter went to meet him in
March 2009 and delivered a personal letter of the US President to the
Saudi King.
"Thank God for bringing Obama to the Presidency,"
the King answered, which has created "great hope" in the Muslim world .
"May God grant him strength and patience, Abdullah continued,
May God protect him. I'm concerned about his personal safety.
America and the world need such a President," the Saudi King said
according to the State Department cable.
Abdullah said his one
piece of advice was that restoring US credibility in the world was
critically important. Brennan responded that this was an important
issue for Obama as well.
"Brennan said that under President
Obama we will restore our credibility," the cable said.
Saudi Media Fall For Obama Muslim Joke
AsiaOne News
reports that when a US satirist joked that Barack Obama will admit
to Congress that he is Muslim in his latest compromise with Republicans,
Saudi media took it seriously.
On Friday the online version of
Al-Hayat newspaper and the prominent news website Sabq.org both reported
straightforwardly humorist
Andy Borowitz's column that began:
"In his latest effort to find common ground
with Republicans in Congress, President Barack Obama said today that
he was willing to agree that he is a Muslim."
"In agreeing that he is a Muslim, Mr. Obama is
sending a clear signal that he is trying to find consensus," Borowitz
said in the column posted on the Huffington Post and The Borowitz Report
websites this week.
Both Al-Hayat, one of the Middle East's most
influential newspapers, and Sabq, believed to be controlled by the Saudi
interior ministry, apparently missed the joke.
"Obama doesn't
mind coming out as a Muslim if that will satisfy the Republicans," the
Al-Hayat headline said.
"Obama: 'I'm ready to announce that I am
a Muslim,'" led Sabq.
Both repeated Borowitz's "quote" of Obama
saying:" My place of birth has been, and will always be, negotiable."
"White House sources indicated today that the president might be
willing to meet the GOP (Grand Old Party -- the Republicans) halfway on
his birthplace and say that he was born in the middle of the Atlantic
Ocean," Borowitz joked.
Despite Obama repeatedly saying he is
Christian, because his native-Kenyan father was born a Muslim, and
because his middle name is Hussein,
many Muslims and even
The New York Times suspect he is secretly Muslim.
Obama's DoJ Promises to Keep Serving Muslim
Interests
Ben Johnson
says here's a measure of just how
subservient our present leadership is to American Muslims: Attorney
General
Eric Holder is reassuring
Muslim groups that the
Justice Department will
continue persecuting
prosecuting their enemies after they "raised concerns" the feds were
unfairly targeting the Religion of Peace. The trouble, it seems, is that
the Justice Department keeps arresting Muslims trying to blow their
adopted country to
Mahdi-come. According to
TheBlaze.com:
Attorney General Eric Holder reiterated his resolve to prosecute hate crimes while standing behind the methods used in anti-terrorism cases during a speech Friday night before a Muslim advocacy group near San Francisco.
Speaking to Muslim Advocates, a San Francisco-based group, Holder told the group that he's heard from many Muslim and Arab Americans who feel uneasy and singled out by law enforcement.
The organization is one of several groups voicing concerns over hate crimes, alleged rights violations at the hands of law enforcement and the tactics used in anti-terrorism cases.
Carefully-crafted sting operations by FBI and Justice Department officials have included plots against a Portland, Ore., Christmas celebration, Dallas skyscrapers, Washington subways, a Chicago nightclub and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.
A
patriotic Attorney General may have asked his hosts
why it is the DoJ arrests Muslims, and
only
Muslims, ready to perpetrate religious violence
against the United States. He would have had the
guts to challenge Muslims to assimilate into the
mainstream of the United States or enjoy their
privilege of living under their theocratic code of
Shari'a
law -- in some country that follows it.
If Muslims in America paid
greater allegiance to the United States than they
do to the worldwide Islamic
ummah,
they would welcome the enhanced scrutiny as their
contribution to America's well-being. Just 50 years
ago, John F. Kennedy took great pains to prove he
would not subject America to Roman Catholic rule,
although Catholics had been present in Maryland
since colonial times. Rather than seek approval of
the 98-plus percent of Infidel-Americans, Muslims
demand their accommodation -- probably because they
so often receive it.
Instead of calling them to task,
Eric Holder is reassuring Muslim organizations --
which have been remarkably lax about condemning
Muslim terrorism -- that he will use his limited
resources to jail criminals who commit
thoughtcrime
in the midst of perpetrating an actual crime.
Forget the fact that, according to the
latest FBI statistics,
anti-Muslim "hate crimes" are
immensely exaggerated. There
were
one-fifth as many anti-Muslim
"hate crimes" last year as there were following 9/11. In
fact, numerous other groups --
including whites -- were more
likely to be victims of hate crimes in America than Muslims. There
were 107 anti-Muslim "hate crimes" in 2009 vs. 545 anti-white ones. Hell,
Pacific Islanders
appear to have suffered more hate crimes than Muslims in 2009 (126 for
PI and other "Asians").
Coincidentally, Holder made his promise just as the
United Nations is
set to vote on the Defamation
of Religions Resolution, which would give Islamic regimes international
cover to continue persecuting non-Muslims.
The Justice Department long ago sold out the American
people to reward Obama's domestic constituencies -- like the
Black Panthers -- and to punish
his political enemies. Holder's words prove it. Although he is
apologizing for arresting Muslim
jihadists, Obama has
instructed the FBI to monitor pro-life groups,
and his Department of Homeland Security
issued a report
branding Christian conservative military veterans, "the most dangerous
domestic terrorism threat in the United States."
Holder's speech is a facet of Obama's biggest and most
successful community organizing drive of heaping together a Rainbow
Coalition to subvert the U.S. Constitution. America desperately needs a
president who will serve notice on all enemies -- foreign and domestic.
Mosque Blast Outrage
Gulf Daily News
is reporting that Barack Obama strongly condemned an "outrageous
terrorist attack" by a suicide bomber at a religious procession in
Chabahar, Iran, which killed 39 people.
Obama said in a written
statement:
"The murder of innocent civilians in their
place of worship during Ashoora is a despicable offence, and those
who carried it out must be held accountable. "This is a
disgraceful and cowardly act."
Obama said such acts recognized no religious,
political or national boundaries, adding that the US condemned terrorism
wherever it occurs, saying:
"The US stands with the families and loved
ones of those killed and injured, and with the Iranian people, in
the face of this injustice."
Obama has never, ever condemned the systematic destruction of
Christian churches and persecution of Christians in Muslim countries.
However, Pope Benedict XVI
singled out Christians as the religious
group that suffers from the most persecution on Thursday, denouncing
lack of freedom of worship as an "intolerable" threat to world security.
The message reflected a pressing concern by Benedict in recent
months for the plight of Christian minorities in parts of the world,
especially in the Middle East.
"Sadly, the year now ending has
again been marked by persecution, discrimination, terrible acts of
violence and religious intolerance," Benedict lamented in the message
for World Peace Day, celebrated by the church on Jan. 1, but
traditionally released in advance
He wrote that he was especially
thinking of Iraq ," that continues to be a theater of violence and
strife" as it aims for stability and reconciliation.
Benedict
singled out the "reprehensible attack" on a Baghdad cathedral during
Mass in October, killing two priests and more than 50 other worshippers,
as well as attacks on private homes that "spread fear within the
Christian community and (create) a desire on the part of many to
emigrate in search of a better life."
Obama has never said a word
about the Islamic suppression and humiliation of Egypt’s Coptic
community, nor the persecution
of the Christian church in Somalia.
Obama keeps telling us he's a
Christian, but his words and deeds lay lie to that claim.
Obama Sought To Empower British Muslims
Live Leak
is reporting
the Obama administration directed embassy employees in the U.K. to
conduct outreach to help "empower" the British Muslim community,
according to a classified U.S. diplomatic cable released by
WikiLeaks.
A separate
cable summarized statistics showing a rise in the British Muslim
population and increased radicalization there. The cable
referenced a poll that showed 32 percent of Muslims on U.K. campuses
believe killing in the name of religion is justified, while 40 percent
want Muslims in the U.K. to be under Islamic law, or Sharia.
A
cable dated Feb. 5 directed as a "top priority" for the U.S. embassy in
Britain to conduct outreach to the Muslim community there.
"Although people of Muslim faith make up
only 3 to 4 percent of the U.K.'s population, outreach to this key
audience is vital to U.S. foreign policy interests in the U.K. and
beyond. ... This is a top Mission priority."
The cable summarized a plan involving "engagement
and community capacity-building" to counter "violent extremism."
Among the plan's dictates:
• "Empowering
Muslim communities to mobilize against extremism."
• "Empowering Muslim
communities to build community resilience."
• Encouraging
community cohesion, respect for pluralism and integration across
ethnic and religious groups."
•
"Increasing Muslim communities, understanding
of U.S. foreign policy in Muslim countries and counter-terrorism
objectives; countering the view that the West is at war with Islam."
The cable went on to commend the American
ambassador to the U.K., Louis Susman, for making Muslim engagement a top
priority.
States the cable: "Beginning with an Iftar in 2009
shortly after his arrival, he has spoken to Muslim groups in Wales and
Scotland, visited the
London Central Mosque, and hosted an interfaith breakfast at his
residence, among other activities."
Susman, however, has recently
come under fire for his visit to the East London Mosque, which is
accused of hosting and espousing extremist Islamist views that have
encouraged terrorist acts. The mosque has twice hosted speeches by
senior al-Qaida leader Anwar al-Walaki.
Meanwhile, a separate cable, dated Jan. 6, 2009, relates troubling
statistics for British Muslims, including a growth of that community to
over 2 million.
Among the statistics cited:
• Unemployment
rates were higher for Muslims than any other religion, for both men
and women.
• Muslims
were most likely to be unavailable or not actively seeking work due
to reasons such as disability, being a student, or looking after the
family and home.
• Muslims had the highest rates of disability, with 24
percent of females and 21 percent of males claiming a disability.
• According
to a poll of 600 Muslim and 800 non-Muslim students at 30
universities throughout the U.K. conducted by the Centre for Social
Cohesion, 32 percent of Muslims on U.K. campuses believe killing in
the name of religion is justified, 54 percent wanted a Muslim party
to represent their world view in Parliament and 40 percent want
Muslims in the U.K. to be under Islamic law.
For a
"committed Christian," Obama sure is working his ass off to promote
Islam and Muslims.
A "Committed Christian" My Ass
Eric Holder told Muslims gathered at the annual
dinner of an anti-FBI group called the Muslim Advocates that:
"We are committed to using criminal and
civil rights laws to protect Muslim Americans" in the workplace,
housing market and schools, he said, adding that he was making it "a
top priority."
A cable, dated Feb. 5, directed as a "top priority"
for the U.S. embassy in Britain to conduct outreach to the Muslim
community there, said:
"Although people of Muslim faith make up
only 3 to 4 percent of the U.K.'s population, outreach to this key
audience is vital to U.S. foreign policy interests in the U.K. and
beyond. ... This is a top Mission priority."
Obama has never said a word about the Islamic suppression and
humiliation of Egypt’s Coptic community, nor the persecution of the
Christian church in Somalia, but when a mosque was torched in Iraq, he
said:
"The murder of innocent civilians in their
place of worship during Ashoora is a despicable offence, and those
who carried it out must be held accountable. "This is a disgraceful
and cowardly act."
Previously, Obama directed the head of NASA to find a way
to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly
Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution
to science ... and math and engineering. NASA Chief Golden
described this directive as his "foremost" priority.
And on
April, 2009, Obama made an address to the Turkish Parliament in Ankara,
Turkey, in which he talked about the contribution of the Islamic faith
in the life of American Muslims and then he personalized that message by
saying:
"We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation"... "We will convey
our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much
over the centuries to shape the world -- including in my own
country," and, "I know because I am one of them."
Obama has also invited the head of the Organization of the Islamic
Conference (OIC), the organization behind the global jihad, to the White
House.
Meanwhile, as Christmas trees are taken down, creches
removed, and Santa Claus banned, Obama continues to insist he's a
"committed Christian."
Barack Obama's Department Of Selective
Justice
John Hindraker
says
he's a few days late, but it is worth noting this editorial by Investors
Business Daily on the Obama Justice Department's selective enforcement
of the laws:
On Monday, Justice sued an Illinois school
district for rejecting a Muslim teacher's request to take a
three-week leave of absence to travel to Mecca. The suit
claims that the Berkeley School District discriminated against
middle-school instructor Safoorah Khan, whose religion "required"
her to perform the hajj, and is seeking damages for this so-called
victim.
But it's not stopping there. It seeks an order
mandating school officials adopt policies accommodating all Muslim
customs, no matter how unreasonable.
The vast majority of Muslims never make it to Mecca
on their own time, let alone their employers'. The lawsuit in
which DOJ joined strikes me as another instance of "lawfare," in which
radical Muslims, probably associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, are
trying to carve out ever-growing spaces in which Sharia becomes the law
of the land.
Attorney General Eric Holder is fulfilling a
promise to pander to the special interests of Muslims. In June
2009, he pledged "a new beginning between the United States and the
Muslim community" that includes "robust enforcement" of "religious
freedoms."
"We are committed to using criminal and civil
rights laws to protect Muslim Americans" in the workplace, housing
market and schools, he said, adding that he was making it "a top
priority."
Earlier this month, Holder spoke in San Francisco
at the annual dinner of an anti-FBI group called the Muslim
Advocates, whom he described as "partners in our work to promote
tolerance."
He told Muslims gathered there that all 94 U.S.
attorney's offices were partnering with the department's Civil
Rights Division to act as "force multipliers" in helping to protect
the Muslim community. He informed them that he'd brought a
third of the nation's U.S. attorneys to Washington for an
unprecedented meeting to work on being more "sensitive" toward
Muslims.
"Last year," moreover, "I established an
Arab-American and Muslim Engagement Advisory Group to help identify
more effective ways for the Justice Department to foster greater
communication and collaboration -- as well as a new level of respect
and understanding -- between law enforcement and Muslim and
Arab-American communities," Holder said.
"Equal justice under law" is an ideal to which the Obama
administration does not aspire. Rather, as the most divisive
administration in memory, it has friends, and it has enemies. Its
thumb is always on the scale, one way or another.
